Big renovation needed

Review by niroshanj116 brisbane, Australia

We stayed 7 nights during July school holidays on 2 bedroom ocean view apartment.Checking in was easy and reception staff is very helpful and polite. This apartment we stayed at is in very poor standard.Every sing blind was broken, some could not close and we had get them fix as we could not sleep as the light coming on to our bedroom. Dryer was broken and got it fix and two days later it was broken again(did not bother to fix again), sliding doors could not be open or lock properly...

Basically all sling doors on the walldrobes could not open. Under cover car park was in dark and good luck if you drive a big car. It is a nice location nice people but badly needed a reno. I will be happy to stay again if they do a big renovation..By the way it is stairs only if you have to carry lot of stuff.

Do not stay here.

The room had a broken balcony door and a running toilet. The management didn’t care nor did they do anything when we requested another room. In fact Management knew we would be arriving late and we would have no option other than to suck it up...

That’s pretty poor conduct. The service from reception when trying to organise an airport transfer was rude and obstructive.

Awesome location, fantastic place to stay, as always.

Review by Glen H Georgetown, Australia

Over the years I've stayed here a LOT. It's always an excellent stay, but the big difference this time, the Wifi issues have finally been sorted out. It has long been the most frustrating thing along the whole beach area at Trinity Beach, but the Wifi was pretty good...

As usual, the room was super clean - very spacious with stunning views over Trinity Beach. Off street parking available. A very comfortable, quiet sleep. Bathroom is spacious and clean with excellent hot water and water flow. Has a washing machine and dryer. Very friendly and efficient checkin. Short walk to great restaurants and bars. The views from balcony, day or night - just incredible, and so relaxing.

Good Spot For Families

Review by mrbono18 Canberra, Australia

We paid around $195 per night for a self contained 1 bedroom apartment which was good value for the 3 of us in a little family. Decor is a little tired but it’s right on the beach where the lifeguards are. Short stroll to local shops and restaurants...

We had a perfect little holiday and it just needs an internal renovation.

Do not stay here. Unbelievably rude staff. Fraudulent claims on website

Let me start by saying the only good thing about this place was the view.

We arrived, tired after a long trip. Collected our keys and remote for the gate and garage door. Drove to the gate...

Remote DID NOT WORK. Made a frantic call to emergency line and was told he could not get there for an hour. He then said there was a side gate we could get through. When I asked what we were supposed to do with the car I was given no answer. I was told I had to meet him at reception in an hour. No apology.

We are both disabled and use walkers. Their website states they have disabled services in the form of access to a building with a lift. Given we had to drag our suitcases and walkers through the side gate and through three doors that close back on you I would not recommend this place to people with disabilities (or anyone for that matter).

When we finally got in the door we were hoping to simply rest and have a coffee. The website (in the frequently asked questions) claims to include sundry items for your use: coffee, tea, dishwasher tablets, laundry powder and milk.

We discovered there was indeed no dishwasher tablets, no laundry powder and NO MILK.

After some time there was a knock on the door and the broken remote was replaced by a sullen looking manager, with no apology. I was angry and tired and gave him a piece of my mind about the lack of access and the lack of sundry items. Again, no apology and no offer to go and fetch the missing items.

My travel agent had words with this manager also and he was incredibly rude to her. Way to go Gerald. You know travel agents talk right? Handy way to lose buisness.

Later on that day we discover there are no window screens in the main bedroom so we cannot have the windows open for fresh air at night because of insects (light fittings bring full of them)

The next day I had contact with reception staff. Seemed nice enough. Later I tried to call down to reception on the phone in the apartment. (It was broken). I called on my own phone to request a shower chair be brought up (again as advertised in the FAQ on their website). I was told they did not have shower chairs but could bring up a plastic chair? Thankfully our travel agent organised one to be delivered by a hire company.

That night my partner opened his bedside table drawer to discover garbage. Cigarette packets.

At that point I decided to make a complaint. I emailed through the issues. I received a terse reply back, effectively accusing us of dropping the remote for the gate (we did not), saying they could not see on their website where it stated they offered shower chairs and telling us they had put items in our room for us including beach towels (they normally charge you to hire beach towels).

They also stated, well the other bedrooms have screens on the windows, like somehow it didn't matter there were none on the main.

Even in this "extra" we were still not supplied with milk or laundry powder as,stated by their website.

They also offered to refund our money on future nights if we wished to leave.

They did not address the broken phone.

We emailed back advising, that while we had considered moving, finding accommodation at the last moment would be difficult so we hD chosen to stay. We also included snips of the FAQ to show them their own website where they offer sundry items and shower chairs upon request.

At this we got a reply (including our travel agent) stating that they felt we would be happier in different accommodation and asking our travel agent to find us somewhere to go.

They effectively told us to leave.

Which we did. Happily.

For an extra $100 we stayed in absolute luxury elsewhere.

Do not, I repeat, do not stay here. Read the other reviews, we are not the only ones to encounter rude staff and dodgy gate and garage remotes.

Clearly they did not like being proven wrong.

Rude staff, shabby, dirty accomodation
