Very good hotel

Review by Humphmeister East Sussex

We have just returned from eleven nights at Paradise Village. We had a very good time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

It is a while since we had been to Greece but we knew what to expect with the accommodation. The rooms were quite basic but clean and tidy...

Certainly not as good as what we have had for a similar cost in Turkey but, as noted, we expected this and this is not a complaint.

We stayed in a family room right next to one of the smaller pools which was ideal. Very quiet, no need to get up at silly o’clock to reserve sun beds and pool area often empty, even throughout the day. The pools were clean and lifeguards on duty from 10am to 6pm.

The shared facilities with Amelia Mare next door really helped. A seamless transition from one hotel to the other provided more facilities and a much larger and busier pool area if that is your preference. It also provided another beach bar area by the sea which we used extensively, a larger buffet restaurant and snack bars for lunches.

The food was good quality and the selection was more than adequate to cover even the fussiest. We eat pretty much anything and we enjoyed the food very much. We have been to plenty of hotels with a wider choice, but we would have no complaints with what was on offer. There were four extra restaurants (Greek, Italian, Chinese and French) that you can book. We tried all but the French and they were very good. Chinese the best followed by Greek. Small extra charge if you go to more than two but worth it for change of scenery.

Bars were adequate and local drinks were decent quality. In all the bars you can help yourself to soft drinks, beer and wine. Hardly any queuing time and quick, friendly service.

The entertainment team work very hard and are extremely friendly. However, their evening entertainment was quite poor. The professional shows that are brought in every few days are reasonable.

Make sure you take the time to visit Rhodes Old Town and Lindos. We also spent a couple of hours at Kalithea Springs which is a five minute bus ride along the coast. The Acropolis at Lindos is worth a visit at a cost of 12 euros for over sixteen year olds. Even if you’re not interested in the history the views are beautiful. Book your trips just outside the hotel with ‘Mick the Greek’ to save yourself some dosh.

All in all, this hotel comes highly recommended. As I hinted before, this is Greece, so have realistic expectations about the accommodation standards. It had been a good number of years since we’d done a Greek island but it won’t be long until we do the next one!

Paradise Village resort is a great place for people of any age. Delicious food, unlimited cocktails, proffesional approach towards the guests from the staff, especially from Thalassa lunch restaurant manager George who was very kind, helpful and passionate about his role in making his guests welcomed. Will definitely recommend and visit again.

Quite good hotel

Review by Kasia G

Hotel is quite plesant, nothimg over the top though. Nice sea views from the hotel, rooms cleaned every day, plenty of space next to pool. Great variety of the food and plenty attractions for children...

Very close to local shops, although even the shops on hotel properties are not too overpriced and well equipped. Hotel is worth it's price. Minuses- beach, very narrow pebble beach. Not worth going. Drink bars- the only bar which serves decent drinks is open from 16.30 by then you can drink watery beer or not so great wine. Hotel is quite messy in the mornings - rubbish and plastic cups are everywhere. Plenty of wasps next to soda dispensers. Overall ok hotel to go to, nothing over the top.
