Sun-kissed Quarteira in central Algarve is one of southern Portugal's top holiday resorts; here, overlooking a beautiful expanse of sandy beach, you'll find the Dom Jose Hotel.
Sporty types will enjoy the excellent local leisure facilities. This area of the Algarve boasts some of the best golf courses in the region. Alternatively there is a huge range of water sports on offer, or if you fancy a change of scene, options such as karting and horse-riding can also be found locally. Nearby Vilamoura also offers an array of entertainments to be had. In the day you can explore the many shops that line the marina. When the sun goes down you can experience its dynamic nightclubs or try your luck at the casino.
The Dom Jose Hotel extends a warm welcome to every guest. From the moment you arrive, you'll appreciate the stylishly appointed interior throughout. Tastefully decorated rooms complement the pleasant restaurant, terrace and pool areas – and with staff on hand to accommodate your every need, you'll know you're destined to have a lovely holiday.
Each stylish twin/double room is air conditioned and comes equipped with satellite TV and direct dial telephone. All feature a private bathroom. To really make the most of your stay why not opt for a sea view room complete with a charming balcony on which to soak up the sunshine? These are available for a small additional supplement.
To enjoy the Algarve sunshine, you have a choice: reclining by the Dom Jose Hotel pool, or soaking up some rays on the beach just outside. The hotel maintains an area on the beach complete with sunbeds and umbrellas (seasonal and at a small fee) so your total comfort is assured.
Venture beyond the hotel and you'll soon discover that as well as the beach right outside, the immediate area also hosts an eclectic selection of cafes and restaurants. Quarteira is renowned for its exceptional seafood and these eateries source their fish fresh each morning from the vibrant local market. Sampling these dishes is simply a must.
The Algarve is loved by all for its sun, sand, sea and sport and you will find that a stay at the Dom Jose Hotel guarantees a welcome which is as warm as the weather.
Recently refurbished, the Dom Jose Beach Hotel occupies a fabulous position, overlooking the beach at Quarteira and the deep blue Atlantic Ocean beyond. The long promenade outside the hotel offers a great opportunity to explore the local area. Bodering the promenade is the enticing sandy beach, where the hotel maintains an area for guests with sunbeds and umbrellas (at a fee, available in summer months only).
Within the immediate area there are shops, restaurants, and a wide range of watersports. Nearby there is a selection of excellent golf courses & a casino in Vilamoura.
I was originally lured to the Dom Jose given its fantastic location right on the Promenade. I come back time and time again due to the value for money and comfort of this first-class hotel.
Rooms are comfortable and clean with all facilities you need during your stay. We were particularly impressed with the powerful shower...
The buffet breakfast is delicious and plentiful with so much variety that will suit everyone’s taste (buffet dinners are also good value).
Nightly entertainment was good, just not to my taste (although I think I am in the minority as everyone seems to enjoy it). The Terrace overlooking the promenade is a great place to sit in the sun, relax and watch the world go by.
Overall, I don’t think anyone would be disappointed to stay at this hotel.
I travelled on the 22nd June and stayed for nine nights, everything in the hotel was first class regarding social distancing and mandatory regulations and the staff were absolutly brilliant, so friendly and helpful.
I had a first floor room overlooking the pool and the beach, cleaned every day, cannot fault anything in the hotel.
I absolutly recommend this hotel if you are thinking of going to the algarve.
Thank you to everyone at Dom Jose, you are a credit to your organistaion.
Myself and my husband visited this fantastic hotel in March but due to the situation at the time we had to return early . We had a superior sea view room it was cleaned every day and very comfortable . It is right on the beach a lovely walk into the Marina at Vilamoura and directly opposite the train / bus station as well as restaurants , cafes and shops . The food was fantastic and the staff in the dinning room were so cheerful and helpful ...
The two ladies on the reception Phillipa and Bridget were so kind and kept us updated regarding our repatriation back to the Uk .they arranged taxis and advised us about hygiene and precautions to take while travelling back to the uk .You could see they enjoyed doing their jobs at the Dom Jose and that was reflected in their attention to detail as was the case with all the hotel staff . The manager spoke to us about his concern for his guests safety and comfort at this very difficult time and had sanitisers installed overnight in different parts of the hotel and a young lady was seen cleaning doors lifts and communal areas every few hours she certainly deserves credit . It’s almost like one big family when you stay at the Dom Jose . Most of the guests there are returnees This hotel gets 5 stars from us the staff have been wonderful especially as there were only 6 people left at the hotel on the day we departed . We were given lunch in the reception area . All the restaurants in the ares were closed we had to remain at the hotel . We will go back to the Dom Jose later in the year and hopefully will stay for the whole duration of our trip , We thank the manager and all his wonderful staff They are wonderful and made out stay unique .
On the last occasion that my wife and I came to your hotel it happened to be her birthday and someone must have noticed this by way of her passport. There was a knock on our bedroom door on the day and a charming young man presented her with a bottle of bubbly and a wonderful selection of fruits. There is nowhere else in the world where such a wonderful gesture would have been created...
It typifies this special spot.Looking forward to coming to your lovely hotel. No air travel as yet from Ireland. Your "Clean and Safe" program is very impressive. What was always most impressive was the standard of cleanliness and hygiene practiced in your hotel. If you combine all that with wonderful food , very comfortable accommodation, fabulous location and easily the most efficient and friendly staff that one might be ever likely to meet. This all means that for travel this year this place is SAFE. Good luck to all
This is a lovely hotel right on the promenade in Quarteria. Very welcoming check in and both the bar area staff and dining staff were very accommodating and that made it a relaxing stay. Unfortunately we lost three days of our holiday due to the repatriation back to the UK ordered by our travel company...
However whilst we were there we did make good use of the lounge and the outside loungers and the pool. Yes the pool is on the small side and unheated but it was fine for me to do lengths in. It does get steep however and not really suitable for children. The breakfast food choices were plentiful and more than enough options to vary your choice each day if you so wished. Some drinks were a little bit on the pricy side compared with the bars and restaurants but the cocktails were very good value. There is a happy hour between 5 and 6 so it really is just an hour !!!! There are excellent views both from the lounge and the dining area and also from our sea view room. We had room 608 but any room on the sea side would have a pretty good view. A special mention should be made of the cleaners who did a very good job of making sure all the floors and door handles etc were cleaned regularly throughout the day particularly when restrictions were starting to be put in place. It was a shame that we had to leave early and we hope that, one day, we may be able to go back again to finish our holiday ! Thank you all at Dom Jose.
