Nice setting. Poor service and terrible food. Staff prioritise the locals, so you have to wait ages for a drink...
The lunch time buffet left overs are brought out for dinner and food temperatures are right in the danger zone for bacteria. The selection was very poor. At least the bread was nice & the sun was shining.
Just returned from my first stay here. Personally the hotel was nice and yes friendly staff but that was it.If you choose all inclusive then fine but we decided on self catering. we stayed in a studio room which was fine and cleaned daily. The kitchen facilities could have been better we didn't have much room to cook so ate out everyday. We could have done with a microwave or even a mini oven with hobs instead we just had a 2 ring hob and a toaster. We did pay the 20 euro on our first morning to try out the buffet breakfast, not much choice really the usual cereal & bread no yoghurts no beans the eggs were hard and no sausages so not worth the money. There are plenty of little cafes a short walk from the hotel to eat at. The pools were cold. The rooms could do with a washing line or some way of drying clothes.Thankfully the wifi was in the room which not many hotels offer so at night when we didn't want to go out to the bar we were able to watch netflix because the tv only had 2 english speaking channels and they were the news. The shuttle bus to Funchal is Monday to Friday but a short walk up a hill gets you to the main road for the local bus to Funchal which was 2.20 euro one way. The scenery is beautiful but the hotel wasn't for us.
We've recently stayed at the hotel, along with the in-laws. As this was our second visit to Madeira and the hotel, we knew what to expect and we were not disappointed. Very good food, friendly staff, clean rooms...
When we mentioned we've stayed there before, they even have us a lovely 'welcome back' present! Overall, a really good place to stay, we will definitely return! 5 stars
This is an amazing hotel located in front of the sea...it does have the most amazing view you could ask for an hotel! The food is excellent...very tasty and everyday with different selection. The staff is amazing at the bar and restaurant- always smiling and so kind! Rooms are very clean and spacious as we had a studio. However I think a ironing board and iron should be available! I do recommend this hotel! Madeira is just amazing!
This was our second visit and as with the last it was perfect. The sunrises were wonderful, the view from the balcony was exquisite, the accommodation was awesome.
The staff were very helpful and informative...
With the collaboration between the three hotels the facilities that are available will suit any traveler.
The traditional dancing brought a tear to my eye by bringing back fond memories of my father playing “Bailinho da Madeira” on the accordion.
I can’t wait to go back.
