This charming hotel is situated directly beside the sea on the south coast of Madeira, just 50 m from the wonderful beach. From its cosy rooms guests can enjoy stunning view over the crystal blue Atlantic as well as of the picturesque village of Ponta do Sol. The surrounding area houses a number of shopping facilities and entertainment venues, while the coffee shops and bars that line the promenade are the perfect final destination for a leisurely evening stroll. The venue itself also boasts an air-conditioned restaurant with a spacious terrace where one can sample delicious seafood, sip white wine and enjoy the mesmerizing views and the soothing breezes. When the weather isn't that great the venue has its guest's well-being taken care off with the heated indoor swimming pool and the massage services it offers.

I spent two nights in this hotel as part of a tour round Madeira. It was the best hotel of the week and I wished I could have stayed longer. The room was large, comfortable and clean with a sea view...
All rooms had sea views, some with balcony. Strange that there was a swimming pool in reception - might have been a bit inhibiting to swim there! Breakfast was very good. The little town is also attractive with some decent small restaurants - but avoid the beach bar where our evening meal didn't arrive in 2.5 hours.
This is a lovely hotel in a quaint historic town about 3/4 of an hour from Funchal! The only negatives are no tea making facilities that brits are used to in the room and the pool tepid and the sauna and steam room not working and no instructions! Yes I could have asked but then would have to wait for things to heat up!!!
The locación is very easy to find the room very nice but not exceptional ...wonderful charming little village. The hotel have a wonderful sea view .it is located in the first line of building. Not happy with the food
Enotel Baia is perfect, the rooms are huge and the sea view breathtaking. The breakfast served from 7:30 to the end 10:30 is wonderful! They say to at like a king for breakfast and you can (or a queen lol) anyway, there is plenty of hot English style breakfast items, loads of fruit, cereals and breads, cakes, pastries. The coffee is pants but I just made a latte and put a shot of coffee in and it was perfect for my taste...
There is an open kitchen where you can order eggs and pancakes and etc and a tip box as you leave. The buffet style kitchen I huge and well set out. I like to eat and ponder so, going early allows me to grab a window seat. Now, the drawbacks weren’t exactly the hotels fault but, I feel that things like rock falls and closed bridge issues should be related to customers as they check in and, hotels like this one should have an in-site shop to get snacks and water, soda etc. I was, today, due to walk along the bridge from my hotel and meet friends at the end. It’s a beautiful walk however, the mountain is being worked in and the bridge at both ends is closed! So, now I’m not only stuck for the day but the closest shop is up a steep road that has no path! Lastly, a taxi rank is in front of the hotel and last night and this morning after a walk after breakfast, the same taxi driver followed me to my hotel and stood gaping up at me while I read on my balcony! UNCOMFORTABLE!
While I appreciate this isn’t the hotels fault I feel the hotel manager needs to have a word with the taxi drivers and ask them to stay in their cars and not hound their guests!
And, while I appreciate that the mountain being worked in since the rock fall last year isn’t the hotels fault again, I should have been made aware of this and been asked if I don’t mind being near to the workers and the noise, lights shining as I try to sleep etc.
Finally, the guest below me smokes! Woke me up at 5am with the stench! I appreciate not everywhere has inspired people to not smoke but to have a balcony is for relaxation not to smoke like a chimney 247! I hope he leaves soon before I gag to death!
On the whole, I’d give the hotel 5/5 but the lack of knowledge of the mountain work and the creepy taxi men need to be fed back as I’m a solo traveller and need to feel safe and in the loop!
If you do visit here make sure you hire a car as there are no shops at all close by
Great hotel right on the ocean with great rooms, comfortable beds, great service, ocean views and pool. Breakfast included, consisting of wonderful dishes, vegetables, exotic fruits, natural juices and all kinds of drinks. Staying at this hotel is worth it.
