Lovely hotel with great staff

Review by tory1982 Paisley, United Kingdom

We visited the hotel as a family of 4 (2 adults, 1 child & 1 infant) for a 5 night mid week break with Jet2 holidays. We had a lovely stay at the hotel. I had chosen this hotel over others in the area for the indoor pool...

Sadly we only had the opportunity to use this once as it closed for maintenance a couple of days into our stay. I had checked in advance if pool towels were provided and was advised (on tripadvisor by someone from the hotel) that they were however when we arrived at the leisure suite we were sent back upstairs to get our bath towels. This was not ideal as it meant they were still wet when we showered. I would note you are also required to wear a swimming cap, even my 2 year old (not fun) and almost bald husband had to wear them. These can be purchased at the pool for a small fee. For it being off season the hotel was busy which is a good sign. Food was good and drink prices were reasonable. The restaurant staff were lovely. It was my daughters 1st birthday while we were there and they left her a tray in the room with balloons, cakes, a candle, candy, a t shirt and a bear made out of a towel. It was a lovely gesture and greatly appreciated. We did walk to the other side of the rock every day however that was because I. The 31 years I’ve been coming to Calpe that is where we have stayed and know people. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many bars with play areas. This is not as common on the other side of the rock. Room was ideal for what we needed. Nothing too fancy but clean, spacious and a lovely balcony with sea view. Perfect for what we needed.

Spanish hotel in a Spanish town

Review by bpm788 Oldham, United Kingdom

This is a Spanish hotel in a Spanish town Check in was easy as the reception staff speak English Rooms are dated but spacious Only has 3 English channels , bbc1 , bbc2 , cbbc Nice indoor pool in the lower floor, strict covid routines in place Nice outdoor pool and no fighting for sun beds Reason could be is the great location It’s on the beach , just walk out of the front door , turn left for 1 minute , beach is there We went on a Spanish bank holiday weekend so it was very busy , shops shut but restaurants all along the sea front were open They are all Spanish and most have them have the menu in just Spanish but the smells as you walk Past them were amazing if you like sea food A couple of curry places No English pubs , no English live entertainment, no singing , no stags no hens , very peaceful and quiet place , great for relaxing There is a train, as in the pictures that takes you to the other side of the rock to the other Calpe beach , 4 euros per adult , 3 per child , you can get off and walk around then get back on and come back Food in the restaurant in the hotel was Spanish If you want an English place don’t come here , this is for those who want to immerse themselves in a Spanish way of life , try Benidorm just up the road

AR Roca Esmeralda Wellness & Spa Hotel

Review by EduardoSaraiva2000 Lisbon, Portugal

My main concern and problem was with the bedrooms quality. They are very old, and need alot of work to be done on them. The furniture are old, and the rooms are still equipped with blinds! The localization is very good. The food is also very good and diverse.

Nice place

Although it was an old hotel, we had a great time. Excellent value for the money paid. Very good breakfast, nice staff...

We stayed in December and plan to try for summer. Nice view, you can even climb on Infach rock, marked path, outstanging views.
