Cozy Costa Retreat

Review by Denis841 Castlewellan, United Kingdom

Right on the beach, this traditionally Spanish Hotel is a most welcoming spot. Part of the Iberostar family of hotels, this one caters for everyone- couples, families, singles. Lots of activities around the pool and quiet areas facing the beach...

By far the most popular booking is for the all-inclusive. Breakfast is an enormous buffet of Spanish favourites of Iberian hams and cheeses or eggs, bacon and fried goodies with cereals, juices, pastries teas, coffees and all sorts of breads. Lunch and dinner have all sorts of choices with drinks to boot. During the day, you can snack and sip beers and cocktails…all served with a gracious Spanish smile. The young, energetic staff are unfailingly helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend the iberostar and sitting, as it does, right in the middle of the coast, it is ideally suited to sightseeing. With the warm, sunny weather, you cannot fail too enjoy. The rooms are large and with tiled floors remain a cool haven in which to rest.

Not amazing

Review by tatigod Casablanca, Morocco

Let me start by saying that just this year I spent more than 30 nights in different Iberostars. And I’ve been a customer for 20 years. So my low rating is determined by certain expectations that the hotel failed to meet...

I have chosen this hotel vs it’s 5* neighbour as it was allowing short stays, without minimum nights requirement. And luckily so cos if I had to stay there longer I would not be happy. Let’s start with positives. Very clean, seem to be recently renovated. Sleeping quality - mattress, pillows - is good. That’s where it ended for me. The premises are tiny. Very small pool with million people in it. We got a room facing the pool, there r some kind of shows in the evening which run until 11 pm? Or midnight? So loud that you can’t sleep even with a pillow on your head. Not my idea of relaxing vacation, at a minimum I expect to be warned about it. Food variety is minimal. Service in the restaurant? You ask for a draft beer (we were on half board), the waitress takes her time to bring you the form to sign for consumption and payment and then tells you to go and bring beer yourself. Oh really? Self service for €3,4 draft beer? Also the beach next to the hotel is pretty average, the entrance to the water is hard with pebbles, but that did not affect my rating, just wanna share it with people who travel with small kids - not suitable.

Good re-opening. Well done

After a difficult year for the hospitality industry this Hotel has finally opened its doors to guests. As expected not all the services are available but I am sure that slowly they will. Not an easy task as staff need to be recruited and trained ...

In summary a nice hotel. Clean spacious rooms, good pool area with access to the beach, buffet breakfast/lunch/dinner has many choices and excellent kids entertainment.

Excellent facilities at this hotel.

Review by MerseysideMargo St Helens, United Kingdom

We really enjoyed our time at the Iberostar hotel. The food buffet was delicious each morning and evening with a plentiful supply of every food imaginable. The staff were incredibly helpful, Virginia the reception manager and Jose in particular. They took pains to sort out the issues we had and we thank them very much for their help. Rooms were very clean and the pool facilities excellent...

The hotel is right onto the beach. Couldn't fault anything about our stay.

Me and my wife spent a week here on the last week of the season October 2019 all inclusive. Transport- contrary to other reviews the bus took us to the door and also on the return trip ( booked with TUI) Staff- everyone excellent Food - really good and plenty of choice for everyone. Entertainment - one night we had flamenco type dancers. The other nights the guests were the entertainment with Karaoke, busting balloons and bingo on separate nights so no professional entertainment. Room - although dated we had a queen size plus bed, big round bath, separate showers and kept spotless by wonderful cleaners. Facilities- there is really only one pool...

Alongside there are two round small pools - a Jacuzzi type pool and a kids pool ( max 3 m and 2 m diameter) and cold. There is an indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna but to visit costs 15 e each. There is a minimal Gym on the third floor slightly smaller than the rooms. Plenty of sun beds , self serve restaurant and a bar with snacks. The restaurant where the hotel borders the beach remained closed whilst I was there. Location - on the beach. In an area of villas with an Aldi 1/2 mile walk away. There is a bus stop which takes about 10-15 min walk away. Go all inclusive as there are no alternative places to eat without catching a bus. Speaking to other guests I believe to convert from full board to AI costs 40e per day. This hotel does one above AI ( where you can use the indoor pools and have other drinks available but again costs a lot for very little gain) Would we visit again - enjoyed our week but no due to location which can’t be resolved. There are many families who return regularly due to the kids clubs but I can’t comment on that. I also think a three star rating max.
