Blaumar is located in a quiet part of Salou, overlooking Levante Beach and the seaside promenade. PortAventura theme park is just 5 minutes' drive away, while Salou's lively centre is 500 m away. Rooms in Blaumar all have a bedroom, a living-dining area and a large private terrace or balcony. The kitchenette area has an electric hob and fridge. The Blaumar's buffet restaurant offers authentic regional dishes made with local produce, as well as Spanish food and themed nights. There is also a popular à la carte restaurant, Arena.

The hotel itself and our room was very clean. However, the room didn't have an iron or a kettle and you have to pay to use the safe. The breakfast was okay but the juice on offer was very disappointing...
It's the first time I've stayed in a hotel and they don't offer fresh juice for breakfast. It was dilute juice that comes out of a machine. Before my stay I was trying to arrange a few spa treatments as the spa is usually booked up before I get there. I sent numerous emails and messages. Someone eventually got back to me after a week of trying. I sent a WhatsApp to the number and got no reply. When I arrived I asked where the spa was so I could try and book treatments. I went to the spa area three or four times for the first three days. Either nobody was there or the door was locked. I sent a message to the number again and I eventually got a reply the next day. However I had to leave the hotel and go to a different hotel for the massage. Not a big deal as the walk wasn't far but it's not the point. Don't offer spa treatments when it's almost impossible to get a response. The whole point of booking a spa hotel was to get treatments and to longue about by the pool after. We should of booked somewhere else. On the night before we checked out, we were woken to banging and thumping upstairs. Every noise can be heard. When the house keeper came in nothing was replaced like bottles of water or shower gel. While the hotel is clean, I wouldn't stay here again. The lack of amenities was disappointing.
Overall good stay and hotel, however let down by little things such as no iron in the room. When I called reception in the evening on 19/09/2021 the woman on reception said they have irons but non to give us as they are all being used. We tried reception around 3 times for just over an hour but still no iron...
Had to iron shirt with hairdryer. For a 4 star hotel you would expect an iron to be readily available
Stayed here for 3 nights in September. We were greeted by the lovely bubbly Katie who explained very well the ins and outs of the hotel. We stayed in room 1319, beautiful room with a idyllic sea view...
Very spacious and sparkling clean. There are two very small things to point out, the balcony could have been a bit cleaner and the batteries need to be changed in the card reader for the hotel room door. We had to keep going back downstairs for a new key which was a bit annoying. Other than that we had a great stay. Thank you Katie :-)
Finally getting round to reviewing our stay at Blaumar Hotel. The hotel is brilliant with a couple of minor niggles.
We were travelling as two adults and one 13-year-old child staying at the end of June into the beginning of July. This was our first time in Salou.
Firstly the location of the hotel was fantastic, It sits on the main strip and is only a two minute walk to the beach...
It is about seven minutes from the centre of Salou and a 10 minute walk to the train station.
Check-in was very straightforward and staff were pleasant and spoke fluent English. We stayed in one of the Mediterranean suites (which had been recently refurbished). Our room was facing the pool. The room itself is lovely inside very spacious with a massive queen size bed facing towards the balcony with full floor to ceiling Windows allowing for a great view.
The room Is partitioned by a sliding door separating the separate seating area which converts to a sofa bed. There is ample storage space and also a small fridge rater which came in handy for storing drinks. It is partitioned by a sliding door separating the separate seating area which converts to a sofa bed. The pool at the hotel is fantastic and quite big. It also has little Jacuzzi areas in the corners. There is a poolside bar with reasonably priced drinks and a few snacks available throughout the day. The animation team in the evening provided good entertainment for the kids and adults. The pool usually closed in the evening but one night per week there is a pool party - this was really good fun!
The food at breakfast was plentiful and varied throughout the week - we only had breakfast and chose to eat out for lunch and dinner - there are plenty of food places nearby.
We would definitely stay here again.
You need to read the 1 star reviews because this is what your going to get , I was part of a group that booked this hotel in late July 2019 and it is not 4 star or 3 star its very very poor , the rooms are nothing like the photos on the hotel advert , we got old rooms in need of refurbishment and got told we needed to pay extra when we complained , we paid the extra to get better room ( still not great ) and number of days later we where requested to sign a form saying we wouldn't complain when we got home , we didn't sign the form because when we complained and asked to see a manager we got told to speak with our travel agent that we booked the holiday with about our issues ,
when we returned we complained to our travel agent and they in turn requested some sort of refund because this hotel wasn't cheap , but it was a waste of time because this hotel didn't offer anything after advertising and selling something to us we didn't get ,
Be warned read the 1 star reviews & don't book this hotel for you holidays
