We stayed here for a week in September as a family of 3 through Jet2 staying all inclusive (AI). We booked based on location, reviews and how the hotel looked online.
Negatives: On arrival we were given wrist bands for the AI but then informed that there were a number of elements not included. That sort of defeats the point of AI...
AI helps with a 3 year old who leaves everything to get warm, then complains its warm before asking for another. Things that were extra were half price for those staying AI like ice cream and some spirits. We have stayed in AI in Turkey which have offered literally everything.
The other annoyance was that the towels were €7.50 each none refundable. There was a safe in the room but not key which has hireable, no iron or ironing board, again to hire. There were cups, saucers, spoons and a kettle but no actual tea or coffee? Seems odd to have a living room set up, especially AI, but nothing to make.
We were initially given room 1062 which was the ground floor right in the corner of the hotel. The room was small but the biggest danger was the bed they had set up for my 3 year old, very nice by the way, was in the living room area which had a UPVc door leading onto the balcony. The handle was a nice height which she could reach and open. Being ground floor the balcony was only a couple of feet off the ground but back onto a public footpath then a cliff edge into the sea. My wife closed and 'locked' it from the inside with me on the outside and with very little effort or force i was able to force it open and gain entry into the room. Anyone could have broken in from the easy to access public footpath and /or my little girl could have got out or worse. My wife complained and we were moved to the 3rd floor.
The pool isn't heated and was cold. On the very hot days it was welcome but not always and we couldn't spend long in before we got cold and had to get out.
It was masks inside as per Spanish law but it wasn't an issue and everyone stuck to the rule as did the staff.
The change of room was bigger, brighter, more secure with a great view so well worth it. The house keeping service daily was excellent and the room always cleaned to a good standard.
The hotel in general everywhere was very clean and tidy. I know it has been Covid and everywhere has upped the cleaning standards but the hotel has done a very good job in this area.
The pool area is spacious, clean and we never didn't get a sun bed. There were beds available at any time of day.
The pool bar was great with staff very friendly and fast with service.
The AI main restaurant was clean and spacious but did resemble a school dinning hall. The food did change each night with some daily staples like chips etc. There were cooks making fresh food in front to order which was nice and self service drinks including San Miguel beer pumps which was excellent.
The hotel is in a excellent location. Just a few minutes walk to the marina and local shops, bars and the beach. We left everyday to explore, shop and had lunch out most days. There is a corner shop literally across the road and a Mercado supermarket at the top of the street about 200 yards from the hotel which was good for bits.
We found all the staff we encountered friendly and helpful.
There are some pool tables and an air hockey table my daughter loved. The evening entertainment wasn't fantastic but has been reduced because of Covid. She was asleep by half 8 so we didn't catch much anyway. Spent time on the balcony with a drink after she went down listening to the music which was nice.
Overall the hotel was nice but a few areas can be improved especially the strange extras which made little sense. Its in a great location and the food and staff very good. We had a great holiday
Just back from a week away.Lovely resort with harbour and lots of restaurants and low key bars 15 min walk away. Hotel looked quite nice, but from the moment we checked in,everything went a bit downhill from there.Reception didn’t willingly give us a lot of information like basics, towels ,safe iron sun beds etc. What’s included in All inclusive and more importantly what you still have to pay for which seemed a lot. There was no information pack in the rooms, everything we had to ask or find out.We we’re a party of four, two rooms booked.Early morning flight only one room ready but other had to wait past two O clock.First room,a bit dark but more worryingly a sewage smell along with air conditioning not working,a light not working and sliding door jammed. Reception was made aware of these issues and sent workmen to fix but unfortunately the smell we couldn’t abide and hence moved to a cleaner room. New room was much lighter, more spacious, clean and airy. But still one light didn’t work and on balcony a black mask covered the outside light.Clearly not been checked properly. Kettle and cups provided but no tea, coffee milk etc seemed pointless. Pool area nice, lots of young families.Plenty of sun beds, but no little tables to put your drinks on. No menues ,you seemed to have to get phone out and scan barcodes for list of what’s available. Poss due to Covid restrictions no entertainment or background music by bar.It all seemed a bit flat, kids however had a bit of music but adults didn’t. Buffet style food was quite nice but repetitive and often cold beans, mushrooms etc.I’ve never experienced anything like this in a four star hotel before.Overall we had a great holiday, but we made it great not the hotel.I won’t be booking there again for me or my family anytime soon. Loved Ibiza just not this hotel.
We stayed in apartamentos tropical garden the end of September into October and we had a fabulous stay! The rooms were immaculately clean, the staff were so friendly. The drinks at the pool were delicious! The location is a 5 minute walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. We would deffinetly stay again...
Just back from a week all inclusive here and we really enjoyed it. It’s a great location, 10 minute walk to the marina. We had a lovely large room overlooking the sea which had a big terrace too...
We had a few minor issues with the room, air con, fridge (not working) and toilet not flushing but all were speedily dealt with. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Cleanliness was great and constant, felt very safe Covid wise. The food was plentiful and varied, spoilt for choice at every meal. Bar staff were fantastic especially at the pool bar. Entertainment was limited but certainly great for families with younger children who seemed to love the mini disco every evening. For adults we had, bingo, games night and Elton John tribute who was good. Overall a very good holiday and would certainly recommend for families with young children .
Tropic Garden Hotel
Had a brilliant holiday with 3 other girlfriends celebrating our milestone birthday. Hotel had lots of positives but sadly even more negatives. In my opinion this is not a 4 star hotel and not fully all inclusive...
Firstly on arrival the receptionist was not overly helpful spoke good English but lacked information. Everything had a charge , towels 7.50 euros, safe 19 euros plus 20 euros deposit. Iron 10 euros ironing board 10 euros and no other information provided.
One room was ready the other was not up to standard. The first room allocated, the air conditioning was not working, damp patch on ceiling, strip lights not working, my friend got locked out on balcony as door handle came off in my hand and the room stank of sewage.
When we phoned down to reception 2 workmen promptly came to work on the room, one of which I walked in on having a pee in our toilet.
Luckily after a couple of visits down to reception our room was changed to a beautiful room overlooking the pool and sea, very clean and fresh everything working.
Bizarrely there was tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms but no tea and coffee.
The hotel provided very little information on what was available on all inclusive to the point where you felt they didn’t want you to take advantage and nothing was presented nicely.
You also had to pay for bottles of water, crisps, sun beds on the upper deck. The bar shut at midnight and very little entertainment assuming that this is due to covid times.
The outdoor stage was grubby and needed a lick of paint and the bar area was very clinical and not welcoming to sit in.
The food in the restaurant was very varied and good quality, and omelettes fish and meat and pasta was cooked in front of you fresh to order . The other food could have been kept warmer but mainly the restaurant looked like a canteen and lacked any atmosphere. We ate out about 50% of the time.
The pool bar was very friendly and provided good drinks and snacks but in plastic tumblers . The pool beds were plentiful but a table worked have been nice.
The main positives were the sea views, nice pool area, the rooms were lovely decorated and having a separate living room was
Overall we had an amazing holiday but we made it a good time. I personally think this hotel could make quite a few improvements and for that reason I would not stay in this hotel again.
