Relaxing sunshine holiday

Review by gillrobbo UK

Arriving at the Iberostar Santa Eulalia we had a wonderful welcome from Ana Maria on reception and a refreshing glass of Cava Rosado. We had asked for a high floor and we’re given our 4th floor side sea view room. At check-in we were also told which breakfast and dinner times we had been allocated and then given information about the hotel, gym, spa and location of bars and restaurants...

As we had arrived after 3pm we were able to go straight to our room and settle in. The hotel does have strict Covid protocols in place which was reassuring, ever corner you turned in the hotel you would find hand sanitiser, policy was that all guests wore masks in public places. All public areas were continually being cleaned. At dinner a member of staff asked guests to sanitise before going around the buffet, always very consistent. The bedroom wasn’t the largest, however it did have everything you needed and was fresh, clean and bright. The bathroom was a good size with a large walk in shower, plenty of wardrobe space, a small fridge and safe. The hotel also provided large containers of soap, shampoo and moisturising lotion. As I was with my daughter it would have been useful to have a second mirror in the bedroom. The balcony area was a good size with a seating area and a washing small rail to dry swimwear. We ate in the main restaurant, seating was also available outside on the terrace as well as inside, occasionally you had to wait for a terrace table, however the staff are so efficient at turning the tables around it wasn’t a problem. I cannot recall the name of the lady who managed the terrace most evenings, she had a great personality and always chatted to you. The important part, the food! Well there was a plentiful supply and choice at both breakfast and dinner, I would find it hard to believe that anyone couldn’t find anything they liked. Both mealtimes also had chefs who would cook to order, therefore omelette at breakfast and meats and fish in the evening. The hotel did try and give variety, so there were barbecues, fish nights. I absolutely loved the evening they did fish and was so impressed with the quality and quantity, I was in seafood heaven. The buffet was continually being re filled, tongs were changed and you never saw food spilled, either on the counter tops or floor. The hotel also had a spa, we didn’t visit this but it did small wonderful walking past, the gym was also located in the same area. For a hotel gym it had a decent range of equipment and weights, enough for a good workout, the hotel did ask that you book to use this, however it was rarely busy. The pool area had plenty of sun beds with sufficient space between so you didn’t feel that you were invading people’s personal space, there was also a wooded area adjacent that provided beds with a canopy cover from the trees. Staff continually walked around the pool area providing guests with drinks and food, with a smile on there faces in the daytime heat. Each day there were also activities around the pool if you wanted to join in, from Aqua aerobics, spin, Pilates and even cocktail making. One of our favourite places to spend the day was at the Seasoul beach club, this area was down by the beach. To use this area it is 15 euros for the day, lovely big comfortable sun beds and a fabulous view. The food here was really good too and we often had lunch here. The location of the hotel is a taxi ride out of Santa Eulalia, you can also walk to Santa Eulalia and Es Cana using the coastal footpath which was very pretty. We also took the bus into Ibiza town, however if we’d known how busy the bus was going to be we wouldn’t have done this. On the return we came back on the cityboat ferry, it was fab. The boat stopped at Cala Llonga and Santa Eulalia before our stop at Cala Pada which was literally a five minute walk from the hotel, I definitely recommend this. Finally, I have to say that the hotel is lovely, I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a peaceful relaxing holiday, however you can get to somewhere busier if they want to. The staff at the hotel were great and the customer service was excellent. Everyone was friendly, polite and helpful. Big thanks to Jessica in the restaurant, always greeted you with a big smile and never forgot your room number, also Pano who ran the entertainment, he did make us laugh with his geordie accent. Also thanks to the housekeeping team who kept not only our rooms but the whole hotel spotlessly clean. Fabulous holiday and we’ll definitely return, thank you!

Review by JayneR261 Epsom, United Kingdom

The hotel is lovely very clean , good food , entertainment was good especially Pani who worked really hard and involved everyone, the only thing it lacks is tea and coffee facilities in rooms and maybe a small shop selling newspapers magazines as we couldn’t find anywhere ear selling them but otherwise a very relaxing time with the family making good memories

" NOT a 5 Star hotel or worth the prices!"

Review by S5499JWjohnm Maintal, Germany

To begin our holidays I paid for the "all inclusive, star prestige package with a 166E car service and a gift card of 60E for my booking online. The car service was a joke, I expected a decent car maybe water and a nice ride. We received a box van, sitting backwards for journey as seats were occupied by children's seats...

The driver was must have been in a hurry as we were tossed around and both felt sick upon our arrival. Once at the hotel there was no allocated customer service for "star prestige" at the desk as indicated on website. While checking in we were given several instructions on amenities in the hotel, food, gym, spa and the all so special roof top pool (sarcasm!) We were given plastic armbands to wear so employees could identify we were "star prestige and all inclusive" I'm not a teenager going to a club just ask me my room number and check my status. Everywhere we went they asked your room number. The 5th floor, under the pool, was designated as star prestige floor. The rooms were a joke to say the least small and very little room to even unpack. The WC was an even smaller room inside the room at the end of the bed. The front door had gaps all around it and we heard people all night in the hallways and upstairs setting the pool. We assumed as top guests the fridge and snacks were included, meaning all inclusive and there was not a minibar price listing posted anywhere. We had to ask and complain about fresh towels, sheets and bedding. After four days and speaking with manager house keeping supplies them with a note saying "please help us save water". Don't be deceived by the pictures on the Iberostar website! The main picture is of Sea Soul. This area does NOT belong to the hotel and anything you do there is an extra charge from drinks, food and renting the beds you see in the pictures. But you will see Sea Soul on the star prestige listing at an additional cost. So the one beach area by the hotel is not the hotels but the employees and manger of the hotel say "we are in agreements with the hotel and Sea Soul". After leaving our small 600E a night room we decided on the downstairs pool area for a snack and drinks. Our waitress was less than excited for us to ask for food as she told us you need to go to Sea Soul for food we have drinks right now. Unlike what we were told upon arrival. After gong back upstairs to see the front desk they no you can get snacks. We were offered an old ham/cheese sandwich and stale chips but if you wanted something healthy they a bananas or apple. That was the options. The bar was having some frozen drinks special and the waitress assumed we wanted one but was pissed when I said no we are in Spain our first day and would like Sangrias, 30 min passed and she never returned but continued to wait other tables. This was also an issue while eating at the buffet dinners. We had Sangrias almost every night and one night had a server say no sangrias here you need to go to the bar and get it. Again I went and saw the restaurant manager and asked why? We were wearing our silly wrist bands and local drinks are included correct? There is so much wrong with this hotel and how its operated you just need to start over or lower the prices and lose a few stars. We did have nice conversation with the employees and the entertainment guy. They all tried hard but knew that the hotel was substandard to the listing. I know the GM was a joke as well. He saw home several times entraining businessmen and holding meetings but guess where, not in his hotel but the Sea Soul beach area. They had better food, service and view of the water. We complained to GM and were offered "coupons for free beds" and guess where nothing at his hotel but the Sea Soul beach area. The employees just seemed lost as no one had the same information. Oh we don't offer any vouchers (60E for booking on line), oh we don't have a car service (166E booked on Iberostar website as well), we don't have snacks here at the pool, and you can order drinks here. We were upset when we first arrived and then it just became comical the amount of mistakes this hotel had to offer but not offer. I will end on two positive notes none the less 1. The food and buffet were a great selection and we enjoyed our meals 2. The Spa area was nice, even though employees interrupted my massage by knocking on the door. The only view this hotel was from the roof top pool but still not worth the money spent.

good for a relaxing sun vacation

Review by Jerry O Amsterdam, The Netherlands

We had about 10 nights here. It's a 10 euro taxi ride from the center of Santa Eulalia. Not a lot to do in the close surrounding...

About 30 euro taxi to ibiza center.

  • nice pool
  • friendly staff
  • good food and drinks
  • okayish entertainment
  • close to some small beaches
  • clean
  • refrigerator in room
  • gym
  • some cats in the surrounding (red, gray and black)
  • no shop or minibar
  • no real sea view. location of room can be towards see but trees are blocking a lot of it
  • no water heater or coffeemaker in room
  • watertemperature shower fluctuates a little. can get too hot.
  • no entertainment on tv. just a lot of spanish channels
  • there is a pool on the roof but only for if you upgrade. in my opinion not worth it. pool downstairs is excellent.
