Puerto del Carmen

Only 500 metres from the picturesque old town of Puerto del Carmen on the beautiful island of Lanzarote, this apartment complex is the perfect accommodation choice for those seeking relaxation and tranquillity. The beautiful beach with fine white sand is just 1 kilometre from the premises, but the compound offers a worth alternative – a beautifully tended outdoor area with a swimming pool, a separate paddling pool, and a sun terrace complete with a snack bar. Guest can use the fully equipped kitchenettes available in each suite or apartment to prepare delicious meals according to their own taste and preferences, and enjoy them in the privacy of their own furnished balcony or terrace with superb views of the sea.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

You definitely get what you pay for!

After reading the reviews on this hotel I was hoping even though the holiday was cheap that the rooms would be ok. They weren’t. Although clean when we arrived the rooms really need an upgrade especially the bathroom which was awful...

Room was only cleaned once with clean towels (which smelled of wet dog). When I asked for clean towels I was told I would have to pay at reception so we used our own beach towels to get dried on. I was bitten through the night from what I’m hoping was mosquitoes as there were a few dead ones squashed on the walls from previous guests! The area around the hotel was run down with rubbish and dog poo all over the pavements. The walk to the main strip took us 32 minutes every day and we got a taxi back which was at most 4 euros from one of the numerous taxi ranks. The few good points were the microwave, kettle and toaster were brand new and the safe was free. I definitely won’t be trying a cheap holiday again as this experience has shown me you definitely get what you pay for!

cheep and cheerful

Review by hercules1912 Manchester, United Kingdom

Stopped here for five nights at the end of Feb. Good points- on a quiet residential street, great sea views, cheap and a ten minute downhill stroll into the old town. Bad points-basic rooms and dated, house keeping only came on the fourth day to give us fresh towels and clean although if you go on holiday to do your own cleaning a mop and bucket is provided. Things outside the hotels' control is obviously the weather, it's on top of a hill and it blows a gale most days, the balconies do provide good shelter though but the pool area is like something out of "The Perfect Storm!" If your bad with your mobility then walking back up the hill would be a problem, there is a taxi rank at the bottom though. Poolside bar is run by an English couple, we only had a breakfast there one day and it was very good.

So we’re no snobs and didn’t expect the ritz however we didn’t expect to hear next door throwing up their guts all night , this hotel is updated would be lovely but the paint peeling off the verander is sharp , the cupboards are browken , the mirrors well ! Anyway we stayed 2 nights out of 7 and decided enough was enough as we hadnt slept and the rooms were freezing on a night and the fleeces they gave well we didn’t know if clean as they didn’t appear to be clean m

Anyway we moved to a new hotel club del carmen and it’s amazing and was worth the extra cash

Lesson learned When we say it’s just a bed for the night , I’d have expected a little better than this

It’s up a big hill and not good if your going to suffer

Nice..however!?

Like another reviewer this was our first time away from our kids on holiday and our first time in lanzarote so didn't know what to expect. Word of warning if you haven't been to Lanzarote before and have booked a shuttle bus you need to go out of the terminal and up to the left to another level to the bus station and find you shuttle service window and find out which stance to go to because I nearly git on a local bus 😃.anyway Also like other reviewers we emailed the hotel before hand to ask for a room on an upper floor so we could get good views and they gave us one with spectacular views but from what I seen they all had great views, however! The downside is the climb up from the main strip and town center is a real pain so if you have trouble with mobility the steer clear. The hotel is basic and need of an update but beds are comfortable, however! The room was cold at night but most probably because of the time of year so if you plan to go around now take fleece it gets cold at night and the room was directly above the reception so it was noisy and they all arrived around 5.30 6.00 in the morning so if you enjoy a lay in don't pick room 504. The room was clean when we arrived and you do get a sitting room and kitchen with kettle microwave and two hobs and cooking utensils plates cups etc, however!the room was only cleaned once and only got fresh towels once which was not acceptable we ended up going down and asking for fresh towels and for the room to be cleaned when nobody a came until the Wednesday and we had been there since Saturday. The staff were lovely though especially the bar staff Ryan Katie and Ryan's Mum Senga, brilliant couldn't do enough very helpful always polite and full of information on how, when and where to go also the food was nice and cheap. however! They don't open until 10am and if you're early riser like me and want breakfast before then you will need to go and get some stuff and cook it yourself and Ryan kicked with the wrong foot 😛😉 wee joke between myself and Ryan. As I said views are spectacular and you have big balcony with sun loungers and small table and chairs from where you can see Another recommendation Mario's and the highlander 2 restaurants which are situated just a short walk from the Hotel good food and reasonable prices, there is also a spar next to them that do warm fresh baked baguettes for breakfast, however! The spar is quite expensive and they're not very well stocked with English breakfast foods such as bacon or links and again there's a bit of a climb back to the hotel and there's a small shop just outside the hotel on the main road u missed it the first time because fromthe outside it just looks like another tat shop with fridge magnets and stuff at the door but is actually much bigger inside...

Anyway yes would recommend Los pueblos however! if you expect the Hilton then it's not for you 🙂

Amazing sea views

Review by allisonb487 Birtley, United Kingdom

We had a fabulous stay at these apartments and the staff were friendly and welcoming. After contacting the apartments direct, we were given a room with a wonderful sea view balcony that got the sun all day. The room was spotlessly clean and well maintained throughout our stay...

The safe was free of charge which was unexpected as the cost of the room was so reasonable. The kitchen area had a new toaster and kettle and washing up liquid was provided, The bathroom had a powerful shower but remember to take a hairdryer if required. The location is central and great for exploring, I wouldn’t hesitate recommending to those who love good value, clean comfortable apartments in a great location.
