Good but can make improvements

Spend 4 nights in February , Food was good we was happy with that. Time for breakfast very good. Room furniture can be changed as looks very old for a 4 star hotel in special...

Same staff do not speak any English considering that more than 5 millions English speakers visit tenerife every year. Play area also need same improvements and pool was out of service so we cannot rate that. very close to Loro parque and city center. Good location

Pretty good Hotel shame about the staff

Review by Barry MPoulton Le Fylde, United Kingdom

Just back from Diamentes Suites and over all had a good stay. Only issue was on the first night. As I was on half board, ie breakfast and evening meal, I happily woindered to the water dispensor for a glass of water with my evening meal. No sooner had i picked up a glass when i was surrounded by staff acting like they were CSI Tenerife !! Sir, put the glass down and move away from the water machine with your hands in the air i was told ( ok, not really with my hands in the air). I was told to return to my table and water would be brought to me, which i thought was unneccessary as i was more than capable, but their menacing looks suggested i follow their advice. Once seated i was brought 2 bottle of water and was charged 3 Euros for the privelage. I've tended to go half board a lot these days as i don't even have lunch at home and in most cases the alcohol for all inclusives tends to be awfull, but when it come to the evening meals, water is always free, just not here. The whole episode on the first night was not the best start to the holiday. I can agree with others who state that the restraunt staff are pretty rude to us Brits, they just don't seem interested. All the other staff were ok. Another thing that was a dissapointment was the fact that there was no indoor pool. I had read reviews before i went and people had posted that there was an in door pool in the gym, there wasn't...

The only indoor pool was the indorr pool table !!

Great for three weeks in January!

Review by EngelsmanniHelsinki, Finland

Before spending a low-season three weeks in January with a Finnish tour company, I read a surprisingly wide range of reviews in English, mainly but not all by Brits, so I half-expcted the "worst" and in reality experienced the BEST. Hotel Diamante Suites is a 20-year-old hotel, so a bit old and well-used -- but aren't we all, eventually! The facilities were good, the staff exceptionally cheerful and friendly, the double-roomed suite spacious and comfortable enough -- and the hotel happily supplied an electric radiator that took the January chill off the bedroom in the evening. The wifi worked consistently well (mine was prepaid through my tour booking), and Sky News was on the TV at channel 39, I think -- I used my laptop, though....

Half-board with buffet breakfast and evening meal (with my travel group) was full of choice The place was fantastically quiet an peaceful at night (no drunken Brits!), which was a bonus. The hotel itself is located on a hillside within 10-15 minutes' walk of the centre of Puerto de la Cruz, and maybe 5 minutes from the sea, which was great going down -- but the steepness of the return uphill trek eventually had me resorting to the (far-too-cheap!) taxis. So don't pay any attention to the occasional comments from riffraff with a Brexit-inspired chip on their shoulders! This is a good, modest, dependable place that treats its visitors extremely well -- a very worthwhile 3-star establishment that I would recommend to anyone. .
