Not as bad as some reviews

Review by SG5585 Windsor, United Kingdom

I have just returned from a 3 night trip with a friend and its really not that bad, the food is warm and a different selection for lunch and dinner. The pool bar staff are amazing and make lovely cocktails. the rooms were basic but cleaned daily and had everything you needed. The only negative is the dated sunbeds, they need replacing as so uncomfortable. we would return

Worth the price.

Review by 496jodih Dublin, Ireland

Stayed first two weeks of December. Went with the breakfast and dinner option. Dinner was a weekly menu...

Except for one Evening we found the food really good. Continually stocked up and plenty of variety. We knew the following week to go out on that particular night for dinner. Just wasn't to my taste. Not sure what some people expect going by the reviews taking into account what you pay. Rooms cleaned every day. Only downside is, it's very hilly so not good if you have mobility issues. On that basis we wouldn't go back as we prefer to be closer to the beach and not have to walk uphill from everywhere to get back to the hotel. But plenty of lively bars and restaurants around and the square has a great vibe to it. Really has the holiday spirit going on. Was decorated beautifully for Xmas. All in all the hotel and food exceeded our expectations. Maybe we are easily pleased, but we don't expect 5 star for 3 star prices. Great staff as well. One bar man in particular. His name eludes me. Tall dark haired lad. One day the pool bar was closed and it's rooftop on the 8th floor. He went out if his way and brought up trays of drinks to us. All in all a good holiday for what we paid.

Not as bad as the reviews say!

Myself and three friends stayed for a long weekend. I was worried after reading so many negative reviews but we had a great time! The hotel and rooms ARE dated but very clean and more than happy with the room. Very comfy bed and shower was amazing!

Bar staff are fantastic...

Very friendly and fun and made us feel very welcome. Pool and pool bar are fab - water is COLD but still a lovely pool and amazing views. Sun loungers are not comfy but really didn’t matter. Drinks are very strong and fab cocktails. Bar snacks not great but I didn’t need any anyway. There is a shop over the road selling very cheap snacks if you are interested.

Food - breakfast is nice and big selection. Lunch and evening meals not really to our taste. Very local dishes and meat was dubious but chips, salad and side dishes were nice. Don’t go here expecting a huge selection or ‘English’ food as you won’t get it. But it was ok for us.

Evening bar was great with fab service and fun atmosphere. Not many English tourists so the other guests might have been surprised at us 🤣

All in all for what we paid we got our moneys worth. I wouldn’t have stayed here for longer than a few nights but as a cheap getaway it’s fine.

Summary - drinks and service were great, room was clean and fine, food not the best but you can always go and eat elsewhere.

Disappointed

Wouldn't rate this as 4*. Hotel was clean but very dated. Staff were not very friendly...

The staff at the pool bar, were rude and on one night actually stood looking at us and then his watch then began to put his hands together and plead with us to leave so he could close. Music was turned off around 10 minutes to closing time, closing time was 6pm. The restaurant was often left with dirty tables and food left lying around. Food was bland and tasteless, very little selection. Food often went cold and you had to reheat it yourself with the microwave. Milk was left out and went warm. I was only bed and breakfast but went to the restaurant on the last night for dinner, aware that I would need to pay. However as I went to show the waitress the colour of my band upon her request, she decided to grab my arm and yank my sleeve up to check herself. I was then billed 13.50 for a plate of chips, a bread roll and a glass of coke. We complained about this but the general manager wasn't available and we left the next morning. We left an email address but haven't heard anything. Hotel was also very noisy. Doors banging all night, noise from the street and for some reason the bin men were always emptying bins for hours every night, right at our balcony. Overall would not return or recommend.
