This hotel is stunning, situated right on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. It was very Covid-19 safe. One way in, one way out...
The reception was cleaned after each guest had checked in and check-in desks were situated a little further apart from each than before. As a result check in was slower but safer for all. They offer a variety of room, from a studio (essentially little more than a hotel room), through apartments and villas.
There is a supermarket within the hotel, open from 8am to 9pm. There is also a souvenir shop open from 10.30 - 3pm.
The grounds are well kept and most of the staff speak some English. The reception staff are multi-lingual, with usually a minimum of 3 languages spoken.
In pre-covid times they had 2 restaurants, a bar and a pub open. During Covid this was limited to just one restaurant/bar which was open from 10am til 6pm. They take their anti-social behaviour policy very seriously. Each guest checking in is required to sign the anti-social behaviour policy on arrival. We had some rowdy guests beneath us laughing and shouting on the balcony until 3am, disturbing all around, including families with children. We complained (which we rarely do) and this was sorted out. The Manager came personally to advise the guests had been warned and it was bliss after that.
Writing this review which by the way is my first but really had to mention Ester on reception she was professional and so helpful as when we came so many forms etc we are returning guests and love the hotel and area Only negative is the sun bed situation you can only book 1 session either morning or afternoon and you can’t book the afternoon until 2 that afternoon but there are lots of empty beds so think this should be reviewed Thanx for a great stay and will be back @ Xmas
We have just returned having stayed 6 nights in an Elite 1 bed apartment. Family were staying in a standard 1 bed apartment. Both apartments were superb, very clean and had everything you could want...
We had a few extras including sun loungers, washing machine and en-suite in the elite. All staff were very friendly and excellent COVID measures in place and adhered to. A special mention to Yohady on reception who was very helpful during check-in and check-out. Great location. We are already planning our return for November along with more family. Thank you for a lovely holiday.xx
We are currently staying in Santa Barbara in Tenerife, i and my husband have been here for 6 days and had a beautiful 1 bed apartment. Today we had to change to a 1 bed suite due to when we booked there not being availability for a 1 bed for the full Duration. We have been moved to a Dull, dingy, outdated room that was of a much less quality and standard than the first room...
We also had insects in the bathroom and kitchen, to which reception sprayed some product but they were still In the kitchen so we asked to be moved. We had to throw away some of our food as they were on them too. They have moved us to a similar standard room to which we have again insects in the bathroom, as well as the flooring in the bathroom being moody in places as there is some sort of material carpet down, which is so unhygienic, the manager on reception and the maintainece man has been very rude and dismissed the fact that I can’t sleep In a room where there is insects. We asked could we be moved back to our original room we’re we was comfortable and didn’t find any insects, but this was dismissed nor did they want to try and make us comfortable. We are in our final 3 days of our holiday where I cannot unpack nor sleep as the thought of insects getting on my clothes completely “freaks me out”. I am so disappointed in diamond resorts and the way we have been made to feel. We have been members for 21 years and never been made to feel how we have this evening. This has totally spoiled our holiday. Don’t stay here if you expect a decent standard of accommodation or staff that are helpful.
I wish I could have rated this zero stars! Absolutes shocked that a hotel can call itself a hotel yet treat its hotel guests like second class citizens! Obviously this is geared around members but given Covid has opened it self up to being a hotel but doesn’t have even some of the simplest things you’d expect that a hotel has always had, like a courtesy room, use of the facilities till you leave rather than at 10am. Check out is at 10 and they are happy to look after your case but you can’t use any of the facilities not even sitting by the bar (the only one that is open) or the pool. I was told that by management that they expect people to leave at check out time, they said we were made aware of this in our welcome email (we have checked it doesn’t say that) You can’t have late checkout because they’re fully booked! Yet they only have 1 bar opened throughout our stay, this was the only food option too and was used by their sales people to sell times shares all morning too! I couldn’t book the gym the whole time because only one of us could book at a time yet when my mate was in there they were alone! Others actually booked a week at local gyms...
The evening entertainment (once a week) was awful. Sun beds had to be booked and could only be booked for am or pm! The only good thing about Thai hotel were the two ladies in the animation team that did the yoga and aqua aerobics and the bar staff who really tried! I was told by the management that staff shortages meant nothing could be opened yet they have full capacity - why are they selling rooms when they don’t have the staff to cope with it. Rooms were also good but a trek from anything and cleaned once a week?! I stayed at a Spanish hotel 3 weeks before, everything was opened apart form the steam (that was the law) and room was cleaned every day as you would expect in any hotel!
