Maldives Islands

The picture-perfect resort of Adaaran Select Meedhupparu is a 43-acre oval shaped coral island, covered with thick vegetation and surrounded by a ring of white sand. It has a lagoon ideal for watersports and is close to excellent diving areas. It's the perfect location for a holiday in paradise.

Immerse yourself on this stunning island holiday in the Maldives:

You'll feel a warm welcome from the moment you arrive at the magnificent Adaaran Select Meedhupparu. The beach will feature heavily on this holiday and it's so enduringly beautiful, you'll want to spend so much of your time there simply drinking in the view. If you fancy a little more energetic activity than working on that all-important holiday tan, then you'll find a selection of watersports available to keep you busy. For an underwater buzz, why not take a dive below the surface and explore? Just visit the dive school on site and they'll make sure you have the right equipment and some help if you need it. The island and hotel have been privileged with an amazing house reef, which clients have the opportunity to explore whilst taking up some snorkelling.

You'll feel very comfortable and well-looked after here too. Terraced rooms with partial sea view are air conditioned and all are equipped with a fan, minibar, safe, telephone, satellite television and tea/coffee maker. The best part is that the en suite facilities include indoor and outdoor showers. Taking a cool shower in golden sunshine – or even under a canopy of twinkling stars – has got to be one of the enduring pleasures of a holiday in this beach paradise.

Guests can choose from four individual restaurants, each with their own ambience and menu – and different views too of course. It's pretty hard to beat spending a relaxing evening taking time to savour a delicious meal and perhaps a glass of wine or two, with the waves lapping the beach and the warm breeze gently nudging the palm trees nearby. Just bliss.

Other facilities on site include four bars, weekly entertainment, a small shopping arcade and a laundry service. One thing's for sure – you'll want for nothing at the Adaaran Select Meedhupparu.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Honeymoon experience

We had a great honeymoon on the island, thank you to all the waiters, bar staff and housekeeping. The island was beautiful and definitely a small piece of paradise in the Maldives. I would certainly recommend snorkelling around the island and restaurants Café Mass and Thavaa bit the others were not bad either...

As it was our honeymoon, we were treated to a floral bed design and candle lit dinner as a small extra but had to remind the resort twice before it happened.

Would I return? Yes I would, however, I would definitely recommend taking a Seaplane to an island as the sea/boats can be uncertain and uncomfortable. Also be prepared for communication difficulties and a lot of unknowns when checking in/out as we were left at the airport with no explanation on what to do on arrival. And the check-out information was incorrect and inaccurate.

This certainly tainted what was otherwise a fantastic holiday. Would recommend but do your research on transfers and what is included in your package!!

Perfect paradise

Review by RewsterC Twickenham, United Kingdom

We (family of four inc. two teenagers 16 + 19) stayed at the Adaraan Select Meedhuparu for 9 nights in a beach villa (literally). Perfect white sands, turquoise ocean and shady palm trees...

Plenty of water sports, fitness, and well being facilities when we wanted to get off our sun loungers. Every aspect of the accommodation, restaurants, and bars were fantastic and the facilities were immaculate. All the staff were so friendly, polite, and genuinely wanted to help in anyway they could. Special mention to Nasser in the main bar of an evening who was very attentive and remembered our favourite drinks each night!! A paradise that we will return to one day. Best beach holiday ever!!!

These people really know how to look after their guests…

Review by BritsinAustria Cambridge, United Kingdom

Stayed 10 nights in a Water Villa, & it was fabulous! I can’t speak at all for the beach villas or other rooms, but the water villas were sheer luxury! We arrived late in the evening, & after an efficient check-in & welcome with a refreshing iced tea, we enjoyed the first of many dinners in the water villas restaurant. The rest of our stay was spent relaxing by the WV pool (where there were always free sunbeds & drinks brought to you), snorkelling (equipment is available to borrow), paddle-boarding & kayaking (also available free of charge), enjoying the beach, & of course eating beautiful food, & drinking (not to excess of course!). The weather was mostly good, despite being their wet season, though we had some stormy weather too (when water sports are not available)...

To summarise the restaurant choices: Water Villas restaurant- fabulous, à la carte, can eat indoors or outside (weather permitting), service a little slow at times, but very attentive & excellent presentation & quality of food. Jaafaiy Restaurant- buffet, with plenty of choice, themed nights & kids’ corner.
Sufura- Indian cuisine, buffet, slightly too spicy for me, but very good. Thavaa- Mediterranean, have to book, good choice & service. Cafe Mass- “fast food”, pizzas, sandwiches etc, great for lunch.

No decaff coffee anywhere, which was slightly annoying for a non-caffeine drinker!

****Only “complaint” about the food was the allergen labelling- we nearly had an “incident” with my daughter’s nut allergy. This MUST be addressed immediately, as it could prove much more serious for someone with a more severe allergy. Especially with emergency medical care not nearby… ****

The Water Villa itself was immaculately clean & very comfortable with an evening turn-down service. Only slight criticism is the lack of drawer/ shelf space- there is only one shallow drawer & one shelf, though plenty of hanging space. Also the doors to the verandah/ decking area desperately need replacing, as rain & wind/ hot air comes in! The decking area was lovely with steps straight into the sea, sunbed, hot-tub & table/ chairs.

The staff are AMAZING, & I must single-out Chandan, our butler. Nothing was too much trouble, & the poor chap never seemed to be off duty! Everyone was very polite, helpful & attentive.

Thank you for a fabulous holiday. We’d love to return.

6th Visit To This Beautiful Island!!

Review by drummerboy70 Epsom, United Kingdom

We visited the island from June 25th to July 10th 2022, having waited 2 years due to Covid restrictions. On our very arrival (to some very warm showers) the front of house team, including the GM met us with refreshments & music...Fantastic!

The whole 2 week holiday was faultless, & I must give credit to every single member of staff in all the departments, for their hard work & dedication to make sure all the guests are looked after. The new dine around plan works perfectly, the food wasTHE BEST that we've ever had since our first trip in 2011...

Cafe Mass is fantastic, as was the Indian Restaurant (where i spent most of my mealtimes), along with Thavaa & the main restaurant, all being exceptionally high in standards.

The rooms where beautiful too, our deluxe villa was perfect, along with the now included minibar.
I cannot rate this island enough & highly recommend it to anyone reading this review. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have so feel free to message me. Please see a few of the pictures i have included. We WILL return again.....!!!! 😎
