Amazing food,resort and snorkelling

Review by RowePCCA London, United Kingdom

We spent six days here and had a wonderful time. We were in a sunset villa, No. 320, and enjoyed the pool and generally relaxing...

All the staff were friendly and efficient. The only problem we had was when we landed at Male International airport - the queues were horrendous, with people having to wait outside the building in the heat. It took nearly two hours to get through and although most people were happy to queue there were some who tried to push in and kept jumping from queue to queue. The transfer from Male to Kaadedhoo went well and the jet boat ride was a lovely introduction to Konotta. During our stay the food was delicious and plenty of it. We were on half board and that was plenty and did not find the need to pay for any premium dishes. Water at the table is US$3.5 but free back at the villa.

Wonderful staff

Review by dianew73 Manchester, United Kingdom

Been home a couple of weeks now and miss the fabulous Konotta with it's amazing staff, food and calm relaxing ambience. It's our 2nd time to the Maldives and hopefully not our last. We'd chosen this island after reading reviews, forums and help from our travel agent who was spot on, thankyou Richard.

We loved this small Island, it has a really relaxed unpretentious atmosphere but still gives you the 5 star treatment...

I'm sure lots of islands stand out in the Maldives and it's very hard to choose the right one but I must say I'd go back to this place in a heartbeat.

The accommodation was amazing, the island spotless , food was so good and crowning glory is their excellent staff. Big thankyou to all the staff especially Chandana (who works his cotton socks off) Ali and all staff at blue salt Shafraz, Mahesh, Nalin, Chaminda, Maria, Cherry and Mandula you were wonderful and made everybody laugh!! The very knowledgeable Ibrahaim for the great stargazing. All the staff at the dive centre who are amazing . Chris and his staff who delighted us every day with there delicious food. All the background staff who work so hard too. Finally Yasir Thankyou so much with the surprise upgrade to the fabulous Grand Konotta Villa, that was truly wonderful but also for all the other stuff you did where you went above and beyond. You are a very kind young man.

Thankyou Guillaume it was wonderful.

A gem of a resort in the MAldives

Review by mikewG6831VU

Our experience of Outrigger Konnotta was truly outstanding. We stayed for 12 nights on the AI package in a beach villa. On arrival at Male we were met by a representative of OK who guided us through to the internal flight to Kaadedhdhoo. On arrival at OK following the short boat trip we were greeted warmly by staff including GM Guillaume and Yasir, our designated guest services agent. It was a little late for the resort tour so this was scheduled for the following morning...

We were shown to our beach villa which was very spacious and very well equipped. As we woke the following morning to the view of the beach and ocean, it was stunning. At breakfast we were warmly greeted individually be name (we’d only been there a few hours). You’ll probably see many reviews on TA complimenting the staff at OK and think it’s a cliché but they truly are wonderful. At one of the cocktail evenings, I had a discussion with Alli the HR director. He shares my view that an organisation’s greatest asset is its people. This comes across at OK as the respect between the management and staff is mutual and that is reflected in the service. I spoke with Chris the Exec Chef, his passion for food comes across strongly and this is reflected in the quality of the dishes he serves. In the restaurant, I must thank Ali, Chandana and Saeed. Not only was their service outstanding but their knowledge and expertise is immense. Chandana is an amazing guy, always on hand to ensure that any curry dish I ordered was extra spicy and my evening bottle of Chablis was chilled to perfection. Thank you so much. The guys at the poolside bar deserve a special mention too; Led by Shafraz; Mahesh, Manjula, Nalin and Chaminda would usually have a drink ready for me before I’d sat down at the bar and their banter was great to be part of. Cherry and Maria always made sure we wanted for nothing if we lay on the poolside cabanas. We’d decided to upgrade our last 5 nights to a water villa. Yasir arranged this for us and when we changed accommodation after breakfast, we were amazed and privileged to have been given the Presidential Suite. I could write an entirely separate review of this villa alone. Yasir, thank you so much for making this happen and for taking care of us for the two weeks, it was a truly wonderful surprise and an unforgettable experience. We both enjoyed the snorkelling, seeing everything from reef sharks, turtles, octopi and all sorts of marine life. My wife spent time with Marina the marine biologist and her passion and expertise of the ocean is incredible. We enjoyed the complimentary foot massage which prompted us to have a spa day with his and hers massages and use of the hydro pool. On our final evening we were having or usual drink at bar with a lovely couple, Alan & Sheila, when Chris led us down onto the beach to two beautifully set out tables for a last dinner. A wonderful gesture once again and concluded with Alan and Sheila being presented with a cake in recognition of their forthcoming golden wedding anniversary. It was a pleasure to be part of their experience. If you are considering the Maldives, I guarantee to you’d be very hard pushed to beat this gem of a resort.

This by far was the best holiday I have ever had! My boyfriend and I stayed here on an all inclusive basis (all inclusive is a must in the Maldives so you can really relax) but the food was like a Michelin star restaurant! All the staff were amazing particularly the head waitor, the head concierge and Nalin- the best barman on Earth! I can’t wait to come back. It’s was worth 3 planes and a boat to get here!

Thanks hoping you can weather the storm

Review by Kamamerhs Leicestershire

With the effect of the Coronavirus on the Maldives I was not sure how appropriate a review was. Since we returned a week ago we have such wonderful memories of our experience tempered with our concerns for the future of the excellent staff. The OK experience was superb from the standard luxury Maldives experience of great snorkelling, food and relaxation but the key experience was the attitude and service delivery of the magnificent staff...

We had such a great time in a variety of experiences. Marina, the biologist and her Coral Project which we took part in. All the staff were great but just a few mentions. Ali, the Food and Beverage manager sorted out a surprise anniversary dinner for us in the gazebo as well as a poached egg and hollandaise sauce tutorial (ours are usually terrible) with chef Gopa. Hittu our cheeky waiter and the rest of the restaurant staff. Mane she and Shafraz and the rest of the bar staff. Ibrahaim so enthusiastic and intelligent on the stargazing event. Azim, the engineer, for an informative back room tour to see how the resort runs plus his insight into the erosion challenges facing the island.Joel for a delicious and entertaining Teppanyaki evening. Finally the deep massage, a mixture of pleasure and pain, from Sigay, a small lady from Bhutan but with hands of steel. I hope the resort and all the staff will be able to weather the storm and as elsewhere, it will be those who can least afford it who will be most effected. We hope we will see you again
