Silver Beach sounds idyllic doesn't it? And so it is. In fact, there's a real feeling of exclusivity about the Silver Beach Hotel. Located on its very own private stretch of beach at Trou d'Eau Douce, south of Belle Mare this is a part of Mauritius that's famed for its deep blue lagoons and long stretches of sparkling sandy beach.
The views from the hotel are peerless. From your room, you'll be able to look out onto the beautiful hotel gardens or the sea beyond. And your balcony makes a wonderful vantage point on it all. What better way to spend an hour than by watching the sky darken, cool drink in hand as the sun goes down after another beautiful day.*
With its lush gardens, nestled right on the edge of the sandy beach, the Silver Beach hotel sells itself. Holidaymakers are won over by its beautiful location and very private amenities. After all, what could be better than having a little patch of a paradise island to call your own?
Watersports enthusiasts are won over by the easy access to the sea, as well as the lagoons and coves of Belle Mare - and all the fantastic opportunities they bring for diving, snorkelling, kayaking and more. Silver Beach provides a full range of activities for both the energetic and the fun-seeking watersports enthusiasts. Want to get out and see a bit more of this beautiful island? A bicycle is a great way to explore, and bikes can be hired from the hotel.
But no matter how busy your holiday itinerary is, make sure you take full advantage of the all-inclusive package benefits with breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as snacks and local alcoholic and soft drinks. Even if you're taking a very relaxed holiday, you can work up quite an appetite in the sea air. Live entertainment rounds off most days at Silver Beach – always with the promise of so much more to see and do tomorrow.
Silver Beach certainly sets a gold standard. With its exclusive beach and wide ranging amenities it presents holidaymakers with the perfect recipe for whatever kind of Mauritian holiday they want.

The Silver Beach Hotel is situated on an exclusive beach at Trou d'Eau Douce on the east coast just south of Belle Mare, an area famous for its white sandy shoreline and lagoons. The hotel overlooks the lush gardens, the pool and the blue sea beyond. A wonderful place for watersports enthusiasts.

Mauritius my review.
Now on our last day but one , we’re very sad. Great stay at this lovely hotel.
We booked an ocean view room, so worth little extra cost - we where placed on floor two on right side looking on to sea & pool area - note, there are no lifts at this hotel but not an issue only four floors high - you face out to the beautiful ocean and stunning reef the gardens-pool/bar . Even though the room was a little tired It was a good size, very clean, and maintained everyday - bathroom with a shower...
The room has tea/coffee making area mini but good sized fridge, hairdryer ( not high pressure ) balcony with chairs and a table, good sized wardrobe and shelving , safe - no iron - The bed is firm , that’s good for me & air con was great.
The staff were amazing, warm, friendly, and charming - nothing is too much trouble at all. All the restaurant staff are always happy. The food for a three star hotel was amazing, very much like A French Auberge experience, the food was varied; buffet breakfast & dinner - some 3/4 course dinner formal served nights. Night entertainment was fun for those who joined in.
As the hotel is small you get to know people, which is great & makes it more enjoyable .
The hotel sits on a lovely white sandy beach & there’s plenty of other beautiful local public beaches assessable by foot from the hotel, we hired a car from the hotel really reasonable rate - and travelled about , be aware it takes a bit of time due to the roads to reach any destination but well worth it as the islands so beautiful.
Tipping: We personally tip, please bear in mind this is a poor country. The staff deserved the tips as they work so hard & try not to forget the kitchen staff.
The beach is lovely white sand beach, plenty sun beds and the beach staff will bring out extra sun brolly’s for you if you ask, you’ll need swim shoes, I was ok - but have rubber feet! going into the ocean, the sand is coral. Highly recommend this hotel and thank all the staff for making our stay a memorable experience we congratulate you and the manager.
So, we are currently at the Silver Beach...and are having a fantastic time. Rooms a bit tired but absolutly spotless, cleaned every day, pay for a sea view, well worth it.....clean beach towels every day and plenty of sunbeds available. But, the food, I am very fussy and the food has been absolutely excellent.....a la carte bi-nighltly and buffet...
I cannot say how fabulous the food has been, and the service from the waiting staff has been brilliant. Thankyou...we have a few days left and are not looking forward to leaving this lovely, boutique hotel.
Love eating our food in the restaurant whilst gazing out across the ocean, all staff are so helpful and thoughtful, food is gorgeous and lovely to get an a la carte feel in the evening even when all-inclusive. Would love to come again and happy to recommend it.
We just came back from Silver Beach hotel in Trou d’eau douce in Mauritius (25 Nov-8th Dec 21) and it was a fantastic experience I would like to share. First things first a) the weather was great even this early in the season with constant 28-31° temperatures b) Silver Beach hotel is situated directly on a wonderful, clean and relatively secluded beach worthy of any in Mauritius and c) this was one of the best VALUE for MONEY hotels I have visited and we travel a lot all over the world!!.
The hotel itself has a series of seaview rooms on a principal building and several garden view bungalows that are just as nice in a very well kept garden.A gorgeous restaurant and well filled bar, a lovely clean swimming pool and very well looked after lawn in front of the sea with a plentiful and well maintained supply of beach chairs both on the beach and on the hotel grounds. It's not pretentious but lacks absolutely nothing of a good 4* stay.
IN fact the food is delicious and plentiful...
The drinks and cocktails included in the all-inclusive are good quality and all are served by wonderful and professional staff who do it for the pleasure and the service! Tip them if you wish (they deserve it) but if it's not in your habits you will not be treated differently -which is much more than I can say for so many, many other hotels.
This is a calm, laid back place so if you want constant loud music, overbearing animation teams or minute by minute planned programmes Silver Beach hotel is not for you.
If on the other hand you are looking for wonderfully prepared local and international cuisine, great cocktails, clean and comfortable rooms, honest service, cleanliness, total security (fantastic 8-10 people security team 24/7) and friendly people then this is the place to be.
It's very simple if you are looking for a “home away from home” place with all the trims of a “paradise island”, this is it.
It is very well placed as a center of excursions and the reception and Crystel, our lovely and helpful FIT in-house operator representative, are the people to guide you.
first and foremost, thank you Fareed (reservations manager) for making our arrival so easy and taking care of all our accommodation needs!
Thank you to all the restaurant and bar staff under Dan (F&B manager) for making our stay there memorable with inventiveness and a smile. Some people are always on leave and you can't mention everybody but Jordan, Kellie, Tivesh,Giris and above all Ziad (Elvis !!) helped us have a wonderful time!
The restaurant serves the most imaginative dishes possible to cater for all needs - well, all non ridiculous needs. There is a buffet at breakfast and lunch with a fixed rotating menu worthy of a good Parisian restaurant with entree, soup, choice of main courses mainly chicken and fresh fish dishes followed by dessert. Chips, hamburgers and pizza are NOT on the menu because honestly the hotel doesn't really cater for very difficult eaters and young kids. Raj the kitchen chef, Melanie, the amazing desserts chef (who whipped up a special “happy birthday” dessert for me in 10 min when he found out !!) and all the other staff made this stay something of a culinary experience.
Finally, a most particular aspect worth mentioning. The “beach boys” -more like very serious
beach guys, constantly cleaning, maintaining and assisting- and especially Salim were amazing sources of help with our leisure activities, service and information
Rarely have I visited a 3* hotel with so little to change especially as the ON-HANDS owners are making constant repairs and ameliorations (massage service added this year and the sports center is actually being restored and re-equipped). Personally I would like to see a small changing cabin next to the beach hut and some more VARIETY e.g. seafood, in the menus (a common request especially if you stay over 9/10 days).
Tips: Public transport on the island is safe, colourful, practical and inexpensive. Even though its irregular and there is no bus stop in sight, the N° 55 bus runs almost hourly from outside the hotel (just wait on the road and flag it down) to Flacq (the regional center) where they have a very large market Sunday & Wednesday and is a bustling, vibrant shopping, medical and administrative center every day. Really worth the visit with great things to buy!
