Stayed here for 2 nights. The place is well located if anyone is willing to stay near pigeon Island. Good atmosphere and the beach is really clean and nice...
The resort arranged the boat services for us to visit pigeon Island. And a special shout out to the person who was in charge, Ms. Tamara. She made sure that our booking was confirmed and all other needs.
Things to improve: The rooms can be a lil more cleaner Could have a bit more variety of food
Just in one word......... DISGUSTING DUMP
Spent 3 nights (2 rooms) and 2 nights (2 Rooms) at this dump with 10 family members and it was nothing but a nightmare Absolutely disgusting. The regulatory body for Sri Lankan Hotels should not let this place to function at all...
During COVID i guess staff must wear face masks. But that's not the case in this DUMP. Nothing works at this dilapidated property, except the Beach, which ...luckily ...own by the state. The food diabolical, bed linen must be from a jumble sale, towels from the last Millennium, sanitary ware not secured properly, plumbing done by carpenters but not by plumbers. Though they boast internet availability in all the rooms, it is NOT, it is only available in the restaurant. That also only shows the signal. But not connecting to internet. The EXECUTIVE CHEF, who may have come back from Alcatraz, should realize the hotel guests are far more valuable than he is. The food should not be rationed or recycled from meal to meal, he should be at their service but not the other way around. They make sure they cook their own food and have a mini buffet for him and the rest of the managers. You as a guests, eat bloody rotten fish and left over food from meal or day before. No taste nor passion for his bloody cooking. will you eat "Milk Rice & String Hoppers" for consecutive 3 days in a star class hotel? or in your own home? But no other options. So be ready if you are looking to visit this DUMP. The CHEF think, he is FULL PROOF to COVID. That's why entire Kitchen team is roaming around without face masks. You don't feel safe at all.
To the positive side, there were few team members who tried their best to overcome all the short falls. Just to name a few of them, TAMARA (FOM) PRAMODH (FBM) BONNY (POOL ATTENDANT) 2 waiters from the restaurant, HK cleaners.
Finally, I know my relatives & I made a massive mistake, but sincerely hope any prospective visitor who look at the glossy pictures that this establishment display in the web should be taken with a pinch of salt ( or may I say a bag of salt) and avoid this DUMP at all cost.
Stayed here in early Nov. the concierge, Lori was EXTREMELY helpful, recommended some great shows & places to eat.. the room was GREAT, we appreciated the valet service, checkout was a breeze...
We will certainly return and tell all our friends to stay @ this location.
Visited this week for a very enjoyable 3 days. Having the place to ourselves we benefitted from the friendly and very accommodating staff. We enjoyed very comfortable and clean air conditioned rooms with sea views...
The dining room was well serviced by the staff and the food was excellent with all choices well catered. The beach was kept neat and tidy and as wide as a 6 lane highway and a nice comfortable walk from our rooms. The resort also featured a large swimming pool, gym but sadly the Spa was closed due to current health reasons. Happily reccomend this resort and very likely to revisit.
Spent two nights at this excellent resort and enjoyed it very much. The cleanliness was at 5 star standard and the food was freshly made and exceptional. The staff were very attentive and friendly, specialy Bobby who kept the pool and the beach to a very high cleanliness level. As this was off season the sea was rough but there is plenty of attractions to keep one occupied in Trincomalee which is nearby. I have no hesitation in recommending the resort
