Fabulous beach, great staff!

Review by TheRoamingDesi

This was my maiden visit to Jetwing Blue in Negombo. Outright, the most outstanding natural element that defines the resort is the wide, expansive beach area. The beautiful sandy stretch goes on for a few hundred meters at least...

The aura of the sea, the sand and the uninterrupted blue of the sky is quite remarkable. A definite gem in the not so distant environs out of Colombo. Because of this close proximity to the capital city, Jetwing Blue is enormously popular with families. Almost all the guests during our trip were families with children.
SOME THOUGHTS/ FEEDBACK: -THE STAFF IS VERY PLEASANT AND OBLIGING. During our visit, the hotel was quite full (gauging from the number of people in the dining area). Despite this heavy influx of guests, the trained and alert staff were always on standby to help make the dining area/ poolside or room experiences even better.
-We were initially given a room on the second floor where the balcony overlooked beautiful palm trees but quite entirely blocked any views of the sea. Since we are both (my adventures partner in crime and I) big fans of gorgeous sea views from our rooms, WE REQUESTED THE STAFF TO GIVE US A ROOM WITH A SEA VIEW, WHICH THEY DID - ANY ROOM ON THE THIRD FLOOR. -THE HOTEL OFFERED A BUFFET AT EVERY MEAL BUT AS PER THE NEW POST PANDEMIC NORMS, ALL GUESTS ARE HELPED TO THE FOOD BY THE SERVING STAFF. It works quite well most of the time except during peak times when there tend to be queues around the more popular dishes. -The food was quite palatable and OFFERED A CHOICE OF CONTINENTAL AND SRI LANKAN CUISINES AT ALL MEALS. -ALTHOUGH IT WAS OFF SEASON, WE (THE ADULTS!) DID MANAGE TO WALK ALONG THE SHORE AND SPLASH AROUND IN THE SHALLOWS. It is recommended though that children not be taken to the sea since the off season currents are dangerously strong. The pool however, was thronging with children having a grand time. -All in all, the hotel has a good atmosphere, is completely family-oriented and is beautifully situated. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the balconies are lovely to sit in with a book or just to contemplate. (Cushions on the wooden bench seating would make it quite perfect!).

Great Service by the Staff

Review by kalanadiaz Colombo, Sri Lanka

Rooms were very spacious, both my kids (3 & 5 years) had ample space to have fun. But the washrooms could have been better if it was bit bigger. Super view on to the ocean from the room. Special credit to the staff, who were very courteous and helpful...

As a family we were very happy and that's the same I heard from my team as well. They arranged a place in the beach for my team to have a nice little sing-a-long session after dinner. Pool was awesome, kids had lot of fun and it was safe for them as well.

Perfectly situated hotel with pool, provided great start to holiday!

Review by WorthKnowing Palma de Mallorca, Spain

A two night stay in this hotel provided a great start for adventure of Sri Lanka. Having arrived from Melbourne Australia we arrived late evening, met our professional guide/driver (Ceylon Escapes) and drive the 30-40 minute drive from the Airport to the Hotel. It was a public holiday the day of our arrival, so most shops/restaurants were closed...

The hotel provided a prompt check in. Our room seemed like kilometres from Reception if only to evidenced the size and scale of the hotel. Our room felt very 'standard' yet was clean and neat. Amazing breakfast selection, professional service and efficient housekeeping. No major issues.

Overall incredible experience

Review by RonJ3 Fayetteville, North Carolina

I had the pleasure of staying at JetWing Blue for a night. Upon arrival the staff was incredibly helpful and polite. Check-in was easy, greeted with fresh fruit juices and water...

The hotel observed very responsible procedures in light of COVID-19 providing hand wash stations and sanitizing solutions for hands, bags, shoes, etc. My room was absolutely beautiful with a lovely view of the ocean and palm trees.

So many nice features it’s hard to say what was my favorite. The bathroom might have been the highlight for me with a large rainfall type shower head and the largest garden bathtub I’ve ever seen. The buffet meals were delicious and had a great variety including some incredible local dishes. In the evening watching the sunset from the main pool with a backdrop of palm trees was exactly what I hoped for from a tropical resort hotel. Truly stunning!

I can’t state how professional and welcoming the staff were. That’s what really set this experience apart from stays at other luxury hotels. Customer service is something the JetWing brand seems to have mastered and made my stay an experience to remember. My only regret is not being able to stay another night.

Fantastic stay

Review by SusanL383 East Sussex, United Kingdom

Wanted to do this review as soon as arriving back home, but what with this lockdown and what’s going on around the world I’ve only just got round to it but here goes!!!!

Upon arriving with my partner for 12 days off sun beach and total relaxation, with a few tours hoping to plan once we got comfortable, and get used to the powerful sun, never known such a fierce heat, and we have travelled around the globe.

We arrived to be greeted with a refreshing iced lemon tea and a very cold cloth, such wonderful staff really friendly, shown to our room was given a ground floor looking into the pool, but didn’t want creepy crawlies, so asked for a higher floor same block, no problem large room, and oh my the bed and pillows were fantastic, we slept so well. Very comfy room but could do with some drawers. But everything else great , plus iron and board. Good hot water and good water pressure in large shower.

We were on a all inclusive package and what fantastic food we had from breakfast to lunch through to evening meal, just great well presented food and such different taste, and the staff couldn’t do enough for us, always smiling and just never stopped asking if we were ok, also great wine and cocktails.

During the day we stayed around the pool and walked along the beach...

The waiters and bar staff were just brilliant they made me a passion fruit cocktail like a grown up slush, unbelievable it was. Again couldn’t do enough if they saw us walking towards the bar they would come out and say what can I get you, just great service.

Unfortunately by now the lockdown was coming, so going outside came to a stop, so only managed to get outside 3 times, but what we saw as in bars , restaurants was very safe and again great people, went to Lords and had a great drink and meal.

We will be returning hopefully this December and can’t wait to see this wonderful country and staff again.

Would like to say to who ever is going to read this review, if your thinking of going to this country and hotel even if it’s for a few days or even a night please go as this beautiful country will need us as in tourists back.

I would like to finish this review with a BIG THANK YOU TO:-

NURIN what a beautiful and polite young lady from Singapore who worked in the restaurant seeing us to our table, I was teaching her cockney lol 😂 had her crying out loud every day 😘

DINESH he was just fantastic and so friendly I was upset that I hadn’t got to see the elephants, I was around the pool next thing I knew he brought me a elephant teddy, so thoughtful 😘

MENUKA. receptionist couldn’t do enough for us, such a beautiful lovely young lady 😘

SANJE. I don’t know what to say about this brilliant , friendly , lovely person, he really went above and beyond to make sure we were ok he never stopped smiling and serving us great drinks around the pool and in the evening in the bar.

Also the fantastic egg hopper lady sorry didn’t get your name, but I was talking to her re the egg hopper pan, she asked if I would like one, the same day at lunch time she had gone shopping and got me one, not managed to make them as good as her, but thank you again 😘

In this troubled times I just hope and pray that these beautiful and charming people are all safe, and can’t wait to return to see more of this country and staff again

Take care much love ❤️

Susan and David
