Phuket

This resort is where minimalist style luxury meets traditional Thai design in a perfect location. The resort features the most fashionable and exclusive beach club of Phuket, located only 175 m away from the resort on the white sandy Surin Beach. Phuket International Airport is about 35 minutes by car from the hotel. Rooms are luxury and comfort, carefully designed to meet the needs of all guests. Guests will love the marvellous tropical water garden, a landscaped garden and pool area of more than 1,600 m2 with an Olympic-sized pool and a Lagoon-style pool surrounded by exotic plants in a romantic ambience. The hotel also features a gym for guests to maintain fitness and spa centre to relax and relieve stress. A sophisticated luxury experience that is second to none.

Excellent location next to Surin Beach, pool and service

Review by b147t Sydney, Australia

We really enjoyed our stay at Twinpalms.

Room - we stayed in both a penthouse suit and the Palm Premium room. Both were really lovely...

The penthouse was huge (almost too big) with a great private pool roof terrace. Only thing to note is that it is on several levels so you need to go up/down stairs a lot. We almost preferred the smaller premium room, overlooking the beautiful pool. Huge beds and bathtubs.

Property - the pool and hotel lobby / main area is gorgeous, particularly at night. The property is showing its age and use a bit, and would benefit from certain renovations / upgrades. For example, the pool loungers are very clunky and frayed at the edges. For this reason I give the hotel 4 rather than 5 stars. The gym is perfectly adequate and didn't get too busy.

Food - we only ate breakfast in the hotel, which was good and had lots of choice. Certain items did run out if you went to breakfast towards the end of the service.

Location - we were aware that the hotel was not on the beach, but it is a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Surin beach - our favourite in the area, with wonderful water, sunbeds/restaurants/amenities and no hotels directly on the beach. It is truly special. The hotel has a buggy service so that you don't need to take towels down to the beach, and the excellent beach concierge helps you get set up with sunbeds. Audy's restaurant on the beach is particularly good. The hotel is in walking distance of local restaurants and convenience stores.

Twinpalms group - we also stayed at the sister property, Twinpalms Montezure which was amazing (more expensive but much newer and more luxurious) and the Twinpalms group also comprises the Catch beach club and Lazy Coconut, with free shuttles between all, which is very handy.

Service was generally excellent, particularly at the front desk (the manager) and also our butler Yah, who was fantastic. Breakfast staff seemed slightly overstretched and at times not that friendly, but nothing major to report.

Covid /logistics - the hotel was very helpful in terms of the SHA+ / covid logistics and seamlessly organised our day 5 test.

In summary, we would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends and family. For the price, it was a great experience. It would be nice to see the property undertake certain upgrades.

Lovely hotel in a less-than-picturesque area

Review by Werckmeister Bangkok, Thailand

I like Twinpalms Phuket a lot, but it's the location that I have a bigger issue with. Surin beach is really just one of the poorer beaches in Phuket (the huge sewer pipe visible from the beach is just...ugh), and the area around the hotel just is not particularly picturesque or attractive, with many derelict convenience stores and generic tourist fare shops and restos surrounding the property.

As for the hotel itself, I enjoyed my room immensely - it's large and well-appointed with lots of ports of plugging in devices...

Love the bathtub, and the bar/coffee area next to the door is a good idea. Bed is comfy, and the room itself is quiet, even if you can open the porch wide to overlook the pool.

Service is fine - some staff interaction were a bit awkward (they seem a bit over-attentive at times), but overall no real issues. Vans are available to take you to other beaches as well as the other Twinpalms property, MontAzure. Weirdly, I ended up spending quite a bit of time at MontAzure as I liked the beach and restaurant there (Shimmer) more. Which really highlights once again the main issue with Twinpalms Phuket - the area is just not all that attractive. Plus points however to Wagyu Steakhouse, which I did enjoy. I think next time I'll try staying at MontAzure!

Very nice hotel for families

Very nice hotel to do your test and go or Phuket Sandbox. The main pool is very long and very fun to swim. We had a penthouse suite and it was huge! We had a dining room, extra bathroom and rooftop pool...

The hotel has limited their menu due to covid so there wasn’t as much to eat as I remembered from my stay over 10 years ago. And they no longer have private beach space but their beach club Catch ( a drive away) is AMAZING!! All in all, it was a nice short stay for us.

Loved this place!

Review by max736 San Diego, California

I was very very impressed with this hotel, from the service, to the room, the facilities, to the food. I don't see how anyone could give it less than 4 stars. The only real issue is the location, which is kind of isolated, but this may not be a problem for many people.

First off, the service is amazing - the staff really care and do their best...

The management and staff are better than what you'll find at many of the larger/more famous resorts on the island. It's good even by Thailand standards.

The rooms are spacious, modern, comfortable, and quiet. Couldn't ask for anything more. Sleep quality was as good as it gets.

The hotel pool is just perfect, serene and right next to the rooms and great for lounging around in. The hotel is not on the beach, but the nearby beach club offers everything you need for a nice time at the beach. The fitness room is nice enough, if you need that.

All of the food at all of the restaurants was AMAZING. So impressed with the food here, and the variety of restaurants to choose from, especially considering that this isn't the biggest hotel.

The one issue to mention is that the location is isolated. There's nothing to walk to, except the not so nice beach in front of the hotel (you need to go to the nearby beach club for a better beach experience). I would suggest anyone staying here have a car or motorbike to get around, and expect to be traveling around a lot. This is a place to stay if you want a serene room to come back to after exploring other parts of Phuket.

On pictures this property looks great and i must say there were a few really nice touches, the welcome drink, the library room, the gym, and the sparkling wine at the breakfast buffet. Also, a few of the staff were very kind including the breakfast manager. However, I must say this is not a five-star property...

There were stains and holes in the linen, the bathroom bench, and on the blinds, which was quite shocking. There was a lot of sand in the pool. Every day our key would stop working so we had to go to reception to update it. I think it just needs a little more attention to detail.
