Depart London on your scheduled flight to Paphos, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
As a European Capital of Culture 2017, Paphos offers an unsurpassed blend of astounding ancient monuments, blue flag beach resorts and a charming harbour space just waiting to be explored. Your morning tour of the city begins at the UNESCO recognised Tomb of the Kings, a desert landscape of remarkable underground tombs and chambers that resemble houses for the living. Later, continue to the UNESCO recognised Archaeological Park to marvel at a captivating collection of intricate mosaics detailing fascinating Greek myths. The remainder of today will be at leisure.
Following breakfast depart for the Cypriot capital of Nicosia, to admire city sights on a walking tour which includes a stop at the charming Saint John's cathedral. Later today continue to the North of the island - a region characterised by a slower pace of life, remote villages and quaint fishing towns. Stroll the charming harbour of Kyrenia dominated by the grand 12th century fortification that clings to the shoreline. Following your visit, head to the Augustinian monastery of Bellapais Abbey, whose hillside position boasts endless views across the adjacent mountainside.
Today is at leisure to explore the city of Paphos at your own pace. An optional excursion is also available to the Akamas region, considered the last Cypriot wilderness and home to the Baths of Aphrodite, an exotic grotto surrounded by botanical gardens.
This morning head inland to the Troodos Mountains, an area of outstanding natural beauty, tumbling waterfalls, luscious pine forests and babbling brooks. Before a traditional meze lunch in the picturesque town of Kakopetria, stroll Omodos village's sloping vineyards to sample a variety of wines from local Maratheftiko and Xinisteri grapes. During today's journey, stop off at two UNESCO recognised Byzantine churches, which display magnificent painted interiors depicting vivid Christian scenes.
Today embark on a half day tour of Paphos, beginning at the nearby Yeroskipos village to witness the colourful creation of Turkish delight. Continue to Saint Paraskevi, the centrepiece of the village and home to spellbinding frescos of the Virgin Mary. Your tour concludes within the cobbled market of Paphos' old town, before an afternoon of further exploration at leisure.
After breakfast enjoy Paphos at your own pace, alternatively undertake an optional excursion to admire gothic churches of Famagusta, the sophisticated metropolis of Larnaca and one of the ancient world's most grandiose city's, Salamis.
