Witness the innocence of the Canary Islands natural beauty with our 10-day island hopping tour through three UNESCO listed national parks. Discover Spain's highest village and tallest mountain as you journey to Tenerife's Teide National Park. Sail to the relatively untouched island of La Palma, known as 'The Beautiful Island', enjoying stunning views and the beautiful city of Santa Cruz before discovering the island of La Gomera, once visited by Christopher Columbus and famous for the lush evergreen misty forests.
Arrive in Tenerife where you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Playa de las Americas.
Following breakfast, journey towards Spain's highest village, Vilaflor. Travel above the clouds to enjoy the stunning scenery where the forest landscape becomes almost lunar. Continue through the pine forests enjoying a vast array of stunning views, arriving at the magnificent UNESCO Heritage Site of Teide National Park. The enormous volcanic crater of Teide has a circumference of 29 miles whilst the majestic Mount Teide, the highest mountain in Spanish Territory rises 12,300 feet from the centre. The park itself rests one mile above sea level and in summer months, the arid landscape is reminiscent of a western movie.
Today is at leisure for you to relax and enjoy your time in Playa de las Americas. An optional excursion is available to Puerto de la Cruz in the North of the island, a traditional fishing village with a quaint harbour and cobbled streets to wander round.
Today your morning is at leisure before your crossing to La Palma on the ferry. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel on Los Cancajos beach for dinner.
Embark on a full day tour of La Palma known as 'The Beautiful Island' and the greenest of the Canaries, declared a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. Visit the beautiful 'Our Lady of the Snows' church before continuing to the Mirador de la Conception viewpoint to admire the stunning views. Journey through the fascinating varied landscapes of the north of the island which is dominated by volcanoes before arriving at Caldera de Taburiente National Park. Offering magnificent views, the park is a photographer's dream with an abundance of wildlife, streams, waterfalls and large expanses of Canarian Pines. Finally enjoy a selection of local produce at the pretty mountainous village of El Paso Village.
After breakfast, begin your tour of the delightful Santa Cruz. The city is breathtakingly beautiful, with colonial buildings full of wondrous colours, an ancient church and stone-paved streets to stroll round including Plaza Alameda, Plaza San Francisco and Placeta Borreo. Surrounded by rolling green hills, the city has a distinct Caribbean feel, hardly surprising considering La Palma once linked Europe to the New World. In the afternoon, you can relax or embark on an optional tour of the South of the island.
Following breakfast, you will be transferred to the port for your ferry crossing to the unspoilt island of La Gomera. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Leaving the coast behind, journey to a height of over 4,000 feet to reach Garajonay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the heart of La Gomera and home to the world's only surviving Laurel forest. Instead of volcanic landscapes, marvel at the evergreen misty forests sprinkled with numerous springs and streams. Clouds hang low, providing a humid atmosphere whilst the famous horizontal rain encourages growth of this lush and leafy forest. On a clear day, the four other Canary Islands can be viewed from the summit. Your next stop is the village of Hermiqua which is awash with giant banana plantations before enjoying a demonstration of the traditional Whistling language
Today is at leisure to explore La Gomera which was once visited by Christopher Columbus or alternatively enjoy an optional excursion to the capital of San Sebastian and the Agando rock formations. Enjoy complimentary champagne with your meal in a private dining area, a perfect way to end your tour.
After breakfast embark on a ferry crossing back to Tenerife in readiness for your flight back to the U.K.
