UK To Siem Reap

Depart London on your scheduled, overnight flight to Siem Reap in Cambodia, via Singapore.

Siem Reap to Mekong Cruise

On arrival, you will be met and transferred to a hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, travel to Tonle Sap, a designated UNESCO Biosphere. Board your cruise ship, your home for the next eight nights and enjoy a relaxing afternoon as you glide through the waters. The ship will moor overnight on the lake.

After breakfast on board, a morning of cruising allows you to take in passing rural landscapes. After lunch on board, arrive in the early afternoon at Kampong Chhnang, one of the largest fishing ports on Tonle Sap. Taste some palm sugar from the Thnot sugar palm before you are carried around the village on small, local boats. Return to your cruise vessel and continue your cruise to Kampong Tralach, enjoying dinner on board before the ship moors for the night.

Disembark after breakfast and journey through the village of Kampong Tralach on an ox cart to Wat Kampong Tralach Leu. Explore this elegant Buddhist pagoda before returning to your ship for lunch. Cast off and travel to Koh Chen, arriving in the afternoon for a visit to a local village school. Next, cruise to Phnom Penh, where you'll have time at leisure to explore Cambodia's capital. Back on board, enjoy an Aspara dance show and dinner before docking for the night.

Today's city tour takes in the sights of Phnom Penh, starting at the glittering edifice of the Silver Pagoda before exploring the Royal Palace and National Museum, After lunch in a local restaurant, visit the Tuol Svay Prey school S21, a former execution centre used by the Khmer Rouge during the war. After this sobering experience, enjoy free time to wander the "Russian market" before returning to your ship and cruising through the night towards Vietnam.

Arrive into Chau Doc in the early afternoon and transfer by boat to Cham Village for insight into the daily lives of the locals. A minibus carries you to the top of Sam Hill, a sacred place of pilgrimage which overlooks the Mekong Delta. Back on board, sail towards Sa Dec.

A morning tour of Sa Dec starts at a local market then visits the former home of Huynh Thuy Le, the lover of novelist Marguerite Duras. After lunch on board, cruise towards Vinh Long village. Transfer to smaller boats and sail to the floating market of Cai Be, continuing onward to a fruit tree nursery before learning how rice popcorn is made. Cruise through the night towards My Tho.

Early this morning, visit the islands of My Tho, where you'll follow a winding maze of canals to Thoi Son Island to visit a beekeeping farm and sample the local honey tea and exotic fruits. After lunch on your ship, sail down the narrow Chao Gao canal to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), docking overnight in the city port.

Today's tour of Saigon begins at the Reunification Palace. Next, witness remnants of the city's French rule at the Notre Dame Cathedral and Central Post Office. After lunch, visit the National History Museum and a lacquer-ware factory before exploring Ben Thanh market at leisure. Return to the ship for a farewell cocktail and gala dinner, with the evening at leisure.

Following breakfast, disembark your ship for a tour of Cholon, Saigon's colourful Chinatown. After lunch, transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK or continue on to your chosen extension.

A visa is required when travelling to Cambodia and can be purchased on arrival. The cost of this is approximately USD $30 per person and you will be required to bring a passport photo with you as well. Please note that it is important that is plenty of space left in the passport, as a Cambodian visa alone takes up one page.


We strongly recommend that you and all members of your party are suitably insured as soon as you book your holiday. It is a condition of booking that you must have suitable travel insurance. It is important that you purchase travel insurance that suitably covers your participation in whatever activities you may undertake at the time that you make your booking. If booking more than 10 weeks before departure a deposit of £49pp will need to be paid at the time of booking with the full amount payable at 10 weeks prior to departure. The deposit applies to adults and children. If you are within 10 weeks of travel then the full balance of the holiday will be payable.
