Set on the promenade, embraced by the rugged cliffs of Xlendi Bay, the San Andrea Hotel makes quite a first impression. The setting is stunning, the Mediterranean is just a short stone's throw away. It doesn't get much better than this. Except that when you stay at the San Andrea Hotel, things do get better. Get ready for great service, great amenities and great views out over the sea. And just imagine that view at sunset. It has to be one of those holiday experiences you'll never forget.
It's not just the views that will impress when you arrive at the San Andrea Hotel; the welcome will too. This is a very friendly hotel; a place where guests can really relax and unwind (which is after all, just what you want from your holiday hotel).
Something else you'll want is great weather. That's pretty much a given in Gozo. It's one of the largest of the Maltese islands, and makes a stunning holiday destination. Gozo is picture-perfect and considerably more rural than many Mediterranean holiday spots. So it's got a wonderfully unspoilt quality to it. There are vast swathes of gently rolling farmland, bordered by exquisite beaches and rugged mountains.
Staying at the San Andrea Hotel, you'll be particularly well placed to explore the towns and villages; meet with the locals and get a real sense of the island's unique charm.
Xlendi Bay is one of those typical Maltese fishing villages; in many ways life here has changed very little over the years. And it's refreshing to be able to step into this gentler pace of life, if only for a week or two. (Although if you want to have go at something a bit more exciting, there are a number of diving schools in town...)
There are, of course, plenty of wonderful restaurants, bars and shops for you to dip in and out of. And there's another fine restaurant back at the San Andrea Hotel. There is also a bar and lounge – the perfect place to bring the day to a close and reflect on the things you've seen over a drink with friends or family.
Guests' rooms at the San Andrea Hotel are wonderfully comfortable and cosy, with full air conditioning / heating throughout. Another great feature is the private balcony - let's face it, you are definitely going to want to make the most of that view. Rooms all come with facilities, as well as satellite TV, telephone, hairdryer and free Wi-Fi connection.
Another good place to admire the view – and get a tan – is the roof terrace. Fully kitted out with sunbeds, you can pass a few hours with a good book, or just luxuriate in that wonderful sunshine. That is, after all, one of the great advantages of holidaying in Gozo.
