Nestled between the islands of Malta and Gozo, is the tiny and picturesque island of Comino. At 2km by 1.7km this idyllic little hideaway is the ideal choice if you are looking for a peaceful and secluded escape. The whole island is completely car free and other than guests of the hotel, there are only a handful of residents. Comino is also rich in wild flora and fauna and it’s the perfect choice for nature lovers. The whole island is a protected reserve and bird sanctuary and from most points on the island you can enjoy completely uninterrupted views over the surrounding landscape, a complete panoramic view in every direction. A network of paths and sandy tracks meander over the lush green cliff tops and headlands, all leading down to the stunning shoreline and its several hidden beaches.
Comino’s main attraction is the Blue Lagoon, a sheltered cove on the western side of the island. With its pristine white sand and turquoise waters, it’s one of the most serene spots in the Mediterranean. It’s the ideal location for swimming and snorkelling and a haven for divers who come to take advantage of the clear waters teeming with marine life.
Comino is the perfect place to really get away from it all and you'll find yourself far from the hustle and bustle of the popular mainland resorts. As well as relaxing, you may want to take advantage of the island's dive centre, or take a walk to the small chapel and St Mary's Tower. For those days when you fancy something different, you can simply take a short boat ride either to Gozo or to the mainland of Malta. Access to Comino is by ferry only.
The climate is typically Mediterranean, similar to that of Southern Italy or Southern Greece. In the summer there is up 12 hours of sunshine a day.
