Our 2 nights/3 days Wildlife Safari provides an opportunity to see the island's rich & exciting wildlife up close as well as some traditional Sri Lankan cultural sights.
Pick up from your beach holiday hotel or airport and proceed along the coast to Galle, en route visit the fascinating turtle hatchery, where you may have the chance to see turtles released from their eggs. Continue with a river safari at the Balapitiya river to enjoy a variety of aquatic life, then on to Ambalangoda to visit a mask carver. You will then enjoy a tour of the historic city of Galle and the 17th century Dutch fort. Proceed to Hotel Chandrika (or similar), passing the island's famous stilt fisherman on the way. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Early morning embark on an exciting jeep safari of the Yala National Game Park, the largest wild animal reserve on the island and home to leopard, bear, elephant, wild boar, buffalo, deer & crocodile. It also hosts many migratory and indigenous birds. Return to hotel for late breakfast before proceeding to the Gateway Airport Hotel, or similar, near Colombo airport (using the Motorway from Matara) for dinner and overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel followed by a transfer to the airport for your return flight home.

Yala Game Park is closed for 30 days during September / October. During this period the safari will be to Udawalawe Game Park which is located approximately 50 miles inland from Yala Safari with appropriate accommodation.
