What a heavenly stay we had here. Everything from the food to the pool to the room was gorgeous. The lobby smells like jasmine, when we arrived we arrived before our room was ready...
They welcomed us with little pastries and mint tea. Then they gave us our all inclusive wrist bands early so we could get food and drink whilst we waited for the room. We paid extra for the swim up room and it was 100% worth it. So romantic and tranquil. Cocktails are heavenly and the wines they have are lovely as well. The fresh juices, coffees and mint tea are 10/10. Food is varied and top standard, didn't have a bad meal. Spa is stunning and luxurious. On my birthday my partner asked them to put a cake in the room they did this and asked him what flavour I'd like which was so thoughtful, they made a heart out of rose petals so sweet. Entertainment is fun, staff are friendly without being too much. There is a quiet pool if you want more calm. Al a carte restaurant was gorgeous. Nothing bad to say really. Regular bus to the centre was great.
The general look of the hotel is very 5 star. The entertainments team are fantastic with plenty of activities to do through the day. The rooms and pool areas are immaculate with the maids working endlessly! We stayed in a swim up room.....
I would maybe describe this as a ‘plunge pool room’ as they certainly aren’t big enough to swim in.
Down sides are if you dine between 7 and 9 it is almost impossible to get a table in the buffet restaurant without queuing for long periods of time. The problem here is a staffing issue as there just aren’t enough staff to clean the tables for the next diners, we had to make up our own table and eat outside a few nights.
The food is a bit repetitive and it they seem to season all the food with a very strong herb which makes everything taste the same from pizza to pasta and the local tangine dishes. I understand this may be a local way of cooking food but the chefs need to calm down with the spice a little as it’s literally covered on everything. You get to eat in their fine dining restaurant once a week but we were very disappointed in the lack of service and poor quality food, believe it or not their buffet restaurant was better!
There is a bit of an issue with wasps swarming everywhere at the pool bar that needs sorting out as it’s not always easy to get in for your drinks. Maybe they could cover the drinks machine in some way to discourage them.
They have several free daily shuttles into the Médina which is a great added bonus if you want to get out and about and see the sights.
The Animation guys, Karim, Monsef, Tittif and the rest were absolutely amazing also the waiters and bar staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The food was lovely, though a bit repetitive but I'm I'm not complaining because I love Seafood and lamb which was plentiful. The night time entertainment was OK but made hilarious by the lovely people we met.The only criticism I have is that When a couple had checked out and got in the taxi to go to the airport, the concierge ran out and made them return to the reception because 2 cups were missing from their room...
They had been partying in another room a couple of nights earlier and left them in there. They were held up for half an hour before they grudgingly agreed to pay 100 Drh (about 10 quid)
The MAJORITY not minority of male staff were complete and utter creeps, they said inappropriate things to my friend and I and wanted to come to our room - awful! We went to relax not be harassed. We felt uncomfortable being by the pool and worried at night time.. not what you want on a girls holiday!
DO NOT BOOK HERE if you expect AC in your room ( cold air) when its 32c outside and you are facing the sun.Stayed here March 3rd for 4 days. Booked with Alpha Rooms which I am now speaking too and also the hotel. Being reviewing for years now, travel a lot and try to be as honest as possible...
Neither of their websites says its seasonal.We stayed in 3 hotels on our 8 days in Marrakesh. 4 days here with myself and my wife, I will do the negatives first as there are positives also. Booked and paid extra for superior room with pool view. Rooms good, on arrival it was toast and always have AC as I suffer with anxiety which I explained to the hotel, the shock of a 5 star hotel not having dual AC was off the scale. I went down to see the manger and you cant speak to the manager as they have 2 girls working shift, Public relations they are called, explained my situation, got no where, they made out I was the only one, as it happens we spoke to three other couples whom complained also. They moved us to a twin room, quickly which was good, requested a fan which they laughed at, seriously. Tried to get over it and move on but the heat in the evening after been at the pool, dont book this if this is not your thing, check!!
Bad points ;
I hope the above is received as an honest review because that is what it is, I am hoping the manger responds as it would have been nice to have the chance to speak to him / her. This place is only 2 years old, and I would say they have and know made mistakes with planning as there are such empty spaces that could be used better and restaurants etc. One thing to note, we meet another couple whom both worked in Hygiene ( they met the manger and mentioned the birds). This really has to stop. Hard to believe its happening. They are flying rats with huge bacteria.Overall the hotel is good, ruined my week as could not relax with the heat in the room, this must be made more clear on their own site, which its not. Location is 20-30 mins outside of city depending on traffic, nothing around anywhere near the hotel, shuttle bus runs but at odd times for returning.
