This stunning hotel is conveniently located between the Protaras and Pernera areas and offers a peaceful, warm and friendly atmosphere in an ideal location for a relaxing holiday. The sandy beach is only a 10 minute walk away from the resort and a wide range of shops, restaurants and bars are also conveniently situated nearby. All rooms come with modern amenities, to ensure comfort for guests. Guests can spend their days lounging by the pool, with a refreshing drink from the pool bar. Guest can enjoy a delicious meal at the Athena Restaurant. There is a children's club for the younger guests and evening entertainment is varied, including theme nights, shows, live music and folkloric dancing for guests' amusement.

Could/Should do better

Review by Sightsee599851

We stayed here for the second time Oct 2021. It is generally a lovely relaxing place but some of the attention to detail is letting it down, certainly a little less appealing than two years ago. The restaurant and catering side of things I thought was a very relaxing experience, plenty of choice of a reasonable standard (for class of hotel). Bar facilities again plenty good enough for price paid, both day and evenings, although ended up out and about at local bars etc most evenings. On the down side unfortunately it would appear that the outside areas and pool area management is appalling and deteriorated massively since our last visit. At no time were the pool areas hosed down (evenings or mornings) hence, week’s worth of spilt drinks, food etc just festering around sun bed area’s causing a great environment for fly’s! At no time were the sun beds wiped or hosed down and all were in a dirty grubby condition (not great bearing in mind current situation) not only was the pool furniture “grubby” it was always a task trying to find beds that were in a serviceable condition, it appeared there were as many broken useless beds laying around as usable ones, Unfortunately the relaxing ambiance by the pool was often “sabotaged” by the hotel staff feeling the need to try and replicate an Ibiza environment with regards to music decibels, from 10 till sundown. The lifts were all looking tired and grubby, very little if any sanitising happening. The rooms were okay and cleaned regular to a reasonable standard, did learn the meaning of a new word though “floordrobe” as there was absolutely nowhere to unpack and store any suitcase items, not even a suitcase stand even if you were prepared to live out of it, it could only remain on the floor. Generally, Protaras is a lovely resort to visit and the hotel is in a great location...

All our criticisms are easily rectified, sincerely hope management take them onboard and we look forward to revisiting.

Honest review

Review by Mel-and-Mic

My husband and I have just spent a week at this hotel. We have stayed twice before and was surprised at how it appears to have gone down a little. Our room was fine as we was given one of the recently renovated rooms, although the beds are not the comfiest...

We had a lovely view of the pool area. The thing that let this hotel down is the lack of cleanliness. The lifts were filthy and the corridor walls need repainting. The carpets could also do with a clean. The sunbeds are mucky and we didn't see anybody swilling the pool area down in the mornings or evenings. I think some of this could be down to staffing issues due to covid. The food is not the best, very canteen like. We ate out most of the time. The hotel itself is in a good location. It's a real shame that the hotel has gone downhill as it has real potential to be amazing. Would we stay again? I think we'll keep our eye on other people's reviews first to see if there have been any improvements in standards.

Terrible food

Review by Butterflyprincess06 Slough

The food is shocking no way a 4 star I would say 2 star. I really don’t understand why hotels offer such awful all inclusive food and repeat of day in day out. There is hardly any selection for kids I’m lucky that my daughter has become willing to try foods she is living off greek salad and bread...

Breakfast is the usual attempt at English breakfast the eggs are not cooked fresh they sit in the silver serving covers and are rock hard. Cereal selection is poor and there are no milk alternatives. I normally opt for fruit at breakfast and there is no melon on offer or bananas there are usually slices of oranges or grapefruit. The croissants are rock solid and there is some selection of pastries but they are right by the door and I’ve seen flies on them often. There is no snack bar so for lunch you have to go into the restaurant. Lunch and dinner is exactly the same it doesn’t change so you are repeating the same meals as it’s duck, chicken on the bone or sometimes there are fried chicken wings, pork and fish is like a fish chicken nugget. I’m currently eating greek salad at lunch and dinner which I love and I’m quickly getting bored of my favourite dish. There are no meats or cheeses at lunch so you can’t make up a sandwich to vary it a bit. Dinner is a repeat of lunch and there are hardly any choices for children chips and pasta that isn’t hot. It’s like the chef has been trained on about 5 dishes and can only create these same ones lunch and dinner. I really love greek/Cypriot food I wish there was more traditional meals on offer and variety we’ve eaten out a few times so all inclusive was a waste of money in my opinion. The hotel really needs to up their game there have been no themed nights no attempt to vary the meals at the moment it’s like Groundhog Day!

Spot on

Review by fionafL5134CZ

We have stayed at this hotel before, when we booked we knew what we were getting.

The room was a side sea view (newly renovated) it was spotless. When we arrived we were given a sandwich, the kids eat theirs, I’m not keen on the cheese so I give it a miss, however at least they’re looking after their late night arrivals...

Our room was cleaned everyday, fresh towels daily and balcony cleaned, those maids do work hard. The food was ok, there was always something to eat, the children and husband were filling their plates most days, I only eat vegetarian dishes, but there was still plenty to chose from. The beds are very comfortable, the kids beds were also comfortable.

I’ve read some reviews of people moaning saying the rooms was y cleaned daily, I have to disagree, they really do look after you where they can. The beach is a 3 minute walk and the strip is a 3 min walk, the location of this hotel is wonderful.

Overall I would definitely go back to this hotel, it’s a 3 star and they define they deserve it, it’s almost 4 star.

The lifts were clean, the whole hotel was clean so don’t be put off by bad reviews, I’m a moaner but I had nothing to moan about.

Thank you to all the staff, they go above and beyond

Lovely hotel without a doubt!

Review by Lynne C

Travelled here October half term and was a little concerned after reading the reviews but had a lovely time! The hotel was really nice, room was very spacious and clean and the beds were really comfy. Room was cleaned every day and towels changed when needed. Wifi was good and free as we travelled with Jet2...

Pool area was big and tidy, and plenty of beds. We stayed AI and found the food was good. There was plenty of choice for an english breakfast, continental breakfast, pastries, fruit, cereals etc. Lunch & dinner was always a selection of chips, pasta, rice, potatoes, a choice of 2 meats, a fish choice, mixed veg, regular salads, a couple of mixed salad, bread, rolls, soup, and desserts were jelly, mouse, cake etc. I didn't go hungry and had something different most evenings. I never went to the snack bar as didn't need to but I believe it was foods left over from breakfast and lunch and not toasties, burgers etc. We were notified early on in the year that there was no entertainment at the hotel but we made our own entertainment by the pool bar (there was 10 of us!) after dinner and also we visited local bars etc as the location of the hotel was amazing. The beach was also a stones throw from the hotel. I would definitely stay here again without a doubt.
