Situated just 50 metres from the sandy beach, this luxurious hotel enjoys a perfect location in the glamorous area of the marina Puerto Banús. The centre with its designer shops and luxury boutiques is within a 5-minute stroll away. The centre of Marbella is only 5 km away, and the international airport can be reached within a short 35 minutes’ drive. Business guests will appreciate a fully-equipped business centre and meeting facilities. The beautiful pool and garden landscape features an adults-only pool, a family pool, a children's pool and an indoor pool. In addition, there is a top-class wellness area and fine dining options. The complex offers fantastic bright rooms with a friendly, modern decoration and marvellous side sea, mountain or garden views.
Prices in the calendar are based on the cheapest room(s) available and your search criteria
This 'resort' is amateur hour in every-sense and doesn't do justice to the bigger Melia brand. Service is non-existent with the various dinning options mediocre at best although they charge you a serious premium regardless.
Forget about having either Me Gold or Platinum status here as it means nothing with you literally expected to locate your own bottled water as room service doesn't exist.
Oh, and good-luck, with the sheer number of children which makes it feel like a borderline zoo for families.
Continually unimpressed by this hotel and totally let’s Melia group down. Service is shocking. Reception, breakfast and pool bar are all to be desired.
Paper cups in the breakfast room - really?! Tables not cleared even when asked. And 75 euros a night upgrade if you wish to share a bed with your other half...
Twin room as standard.
I’m so disappointed and thoroughly unimpressed by this shocking hotel.
One of the main reasons we come to this hotel is because my children love the kiddy club. The 2x Cristina's and Jordi were fantastic. There is a weekly timetable of activities including painting, t-shirt making, mini chef, salt bottles, games, dancing, water games and much more...
This year my children (and I) were especially happy at the introduction of the night time activities from 21:30 until 23:00.
Initial expectations were high. Pictures of the hotel were promising and despite the price for the weekend, being a Melíá, in Marbella, everything looked like the best choice.
But it was not.
Definitely, this hotel should be out of the Meliá hotels portfolio since it does not align to the Meliá standards.
Overpriced for the services offered. That would be a first conclusion.
At check in, no sign of welcoming mood except the concierge alerting the staff behind the desk that they should charge me for the parking...
(Sorry, it is not my style to use services without paying. I already had informed the reception that I would use the parking)
The offered "premium room" with sea views, had a view to the open public parking with zero concept of "premium". Low cost furniture and not well maintained, elements of the shower were missing (replacing those parts would mean nothing in terms of costs), and not a single bottle of water for an almost 280 EUR/night room. They said that it was not the policy of the hotel to offer a bottle of water to guests in the room. First time I face that policy in a Meliá hotel.
Only a pair of slippers available whilst it was a double room. Most probably the previous guest took one of them and no one cared to replace it.
The layout of the hotel is like a hospital, with unfriendly corridors and soulless decoration.
The Level should be renamed as the "low Level".
The swimming pool area with very few umbrellas available and the area of "adults only" was simply a joke.
Basic breakfast, with no one available in the kitchen and again, stained chairs over the place.
Forget about getting any benefit from the Melia Rewards programme. I declined the late check out when they initially wanted to charge me for that and once they realized that I was a Meliá Platinum member, they started to use the excuse of availability. So, thank you but I gave it up. No need for charity.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience. When I read the positive comments by other guests, I have the feeling that I stayed in a completely different hotel.
Being used to the Meliá standards, definitely the Marbella Banus does not meet such standards.
The marketing strategy worked well: Nice pictures, location in the glamorous Puerto Banus, high price to show a sign of status but in the end, a low class hotel.
I just paid for the bill and left (and yes Mr Concierge, I paid for the parking, do not worry for that), regretting my choice. Lesson learned.
Interesting that Meliá has not even sent the normal email with the survey after the stay. That is an objective sign that they do not care too much about customer satisfaction about that hotel.
We've stayed here many times over the years, as it is well located for Puerto Bonus, the beaches, and in the past has been relatively good value for money.
This is no longer the case, as prices have been hiked up in recent times. Breakfast is still a great feast and the garden / pool area is well kept. However, the bedrooms are really starting to feel very tired and dated and could do with modernisation.
