We had a wonderful five night October sun break at this outstanding parador and even though there were some negative points (which others have raised in their reviews), it is fully deserving of a five star rating. Some negatives: the parador is somewhat dated especially the bathroom. Every time we entered our room, the television came on with a welcome screen which was a bit annoying. We would have liked a double bed as a couple but ended up with twin beds. The odd, loud 'Daily Mail reader' type will be encountered but don't let that put you off - the clientelle was fairly international to the extent that the DM crowd weren't (too) overbearing. On the plus side, the location of this parador cannot be beaten, perched right on the cliff with wonderful views (especially sun rise as you are eating your sumptuous breakfast) and a lift down to the beach. We were too late to book a superior double but weren't let down when we arrived at room 305 which still had a fantastic view over the sea. I would recommend joining the Parador's Amigos scheme and booking with them directly as a way of accessing the best deals. One small suggestion with the rooms is to limit balcony smoking to one area of the hotel. We had a chain-smoker two floors below us and the smoke could still be smelt on our top floor balcony. The grounds of the parador are amazing and the perfect spot to relax. There are ombú trees for shade, there were always enough sun loungers available during our stay and the staff bring little snacks/drinks to you around noon every day. The hotel arranged transfers for us to and from Málaga (75€ one way) and we found all the staff very attentive and willing to assist when asked. The end result was a very relaxing and enjoyable five nights at this lovely parador and we wouldn't hesitate to book again in the future.
Classy hotel. Fantastic position above the beach. Handy lift to beach. Everything about the hotel is quality. The furnishings and decor are timeless. We had a fantastic room with sea view balcony. The pool area and grounds are beautiful. Lots of friendly staff. Everyone who worked there was happy and smiley from the minute we arrived, on reception & restaurant & housekeeping. Hotel is spotless. Room spacious and clean. Every toiletry you need is provided. Breakfast is buffet with an egg/omelette station. Seating in or outside with views of the sea. Fresh tea or coffee brought to your table. Top class service. Great food choices in single portion bowls. Best hotel in Nerja. We will definitely return. Parking in the car park at the front €16 a day.
There was a sea mist one day so please excuse some of my photos.
It's an excellent relaxing place to be, the staff are excellent, helpful and friendly. The location couldn't be better a quiet area but only 10 minutes stroll to the centre with its myriad of bars and restaurants. The rooms though a little dated have a definite charm to them, and have everything you need. The shower over bath is excellent with its glass screen, but of course may be not the best type for the less agile. The gardens are fabulous plenty of sun beds and plenty of space, the trees are exotic. Breakfast on the stunning terrace, overlooking the gardens and sea, is very good, can't comment on the restaurant not been there. There may be a program to update the rooms not quite sure about that, there was in the past but it was deferred, and then COVID happened. My only small proviso is when booking on the official web site, don't book the first option of a "basic" room, go for at least the "standard" room (which you may note is the same price) all the 100 or so rooms have great views over the garden and out to the sea, except for the 6 or so "basic" room which are located on the side of the building and are without balconies these are really Family Rooms bigger with an option of a convertible sofa. It's easy to mistakenly book a basic, or at least it was for me, though they did change it. Finally there is the luxury of the private lift down to Burriana Beach below, which believe me in Summer is very welcome. We'll be back next year
We enjoyed a very restful 2 weeks in this lovely Parador located on a cliff top overlooking the Mediterranean and surrounded by mountains providing a beautiful setting. Friendly staff and very clean, as always, great food and a very peaceful spot with beautifully maintained garden areas and an extremely convenient direct lift access to the beach.
Situated on the cliff top with beautiful gardens and views of the sea, great sunsets. Highly recommend for both location, staff and good and rooms. Choose a Superior Room for the balcony and the views.
