Good Lazy Holiday

Review by George S Swanage, United Kingdom

Very clean and tidy hotel. Restaurant kept clean and tables are cleaned as soon as guests leave. The food is of a high standard and staff are amazing...

The pool bar had enough snacks to keep you going and it was refreshed regular. Plenty of drinks to choose from and overall I would recommend this hotel. I would have given this hotel five stars but for a couple of things which in my opinion could have been better. One thing I would recommend is that one of the three pools could be an adult only pool as when we were there it was packed with children jumping in every where so there was no chance of a proper swim. The restaurant is quite small so the choice is quite limited but the quality is good. If you book this hotel there are a lot of steps and a steep slope so make sure your fit. As I said before it would be an hotel I would book again.

Fantastic stay/hard working and kind staff.

Review by McErleanes Ipswich, United Kingdom

It’s been 7 years since being at the Gran oasis. We decided 10 nights all inclusive as we have an 11 year old daughter. We arrived at 11:30 am and only had to wait about 2 hours for our room which I think is pretty good...

Entertainment team:

My favourite part of this resort they are fantastic and very hard working. Renata Steffie and the team went above and beyond and they make your holiday that extra special.

The rest of the staff are also hard working and very kind always take that extra time to say hello.

All in all I can’t fault this resort and we hope to return next year.

5th time staying

Review by melissaseamus Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom

Can't recommend this place enough I visited 9 years ago for the first time and still renate is still here full of energy and fantastic, never got to do the white party this time but its amazing.....very friendly and helpful also Stefani who is incredible, so personal when she calls the children by there name and my cohnan loves her, absolute everything for the family and having a side of luxury, my boy is autistic and small things that others would think he's being spoilt he doesn't understand that in competitions everyone's not a winner same as the raffle yet they accommodated him to make him happy, having a great time foam party this Thursday and home Friday not that I want to leave but until the next time adios x

A very honest opinion of gran oasis

Review by Benstraveladventure Wales, United Kingdom

My honest opinion of our weeks stay at the gran oasis.

The hotel Good - Spotless, beautiful and well maintained. Trees, flowers attended to daily, with the cleaners ensuring there was. It a spec of dust on the floor...

Bad - the location makes this hotel quite far away from anything so you will be paying for a taxi or walking at least 20 mins. The hotel is also on a steep slope meaning there are many steps to your rooms. I would say this is very unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues.

The rooms

Good- Room size is great, Double bed downstairs and 2 singles upstairs for the kids.

Bad - steps in room can be ver slippery!! The walls must be made of rice paper, I could hear full conversations, word for word of my next door neighbour. We were awoken 3 times in a week by our neighbours being extremely loud at 1,2 and 5 am. The hotel did move us, but unfortunately it was no different.

The pools

Good - brilliant, perfect size, perfect temperature and plenty of steps.

Nothing bad to say about the pools!

The entertainment

Good - staff were lovely and friendly, the bbq disco was great - you should Do this more frequently! Brazilian acrobats by far the best evening show.

Bad - Daytime Entertainment wasn’t particularly good, there were some things going on for kids and even less for adults. Would have been great to have some shooting/archery etc for adults, Maybe day time quizzes too. Some of the evening entertainment was Dreadful, the singing duet in particular.

The drinks

Good - beer ok, cocktails ok, slushies for the kids, branded fizzy drinks such as coke, Coke Zero and Fanta.

The bad - more variety needed For cocktails, they are all pre-made and made On mass.

The food -

Good - snack bar was good (when open) perfect for the kids during the day. Catered for gluten allergies well (When asked)

Bad - I’m sorry but this is the massive let down for the hotel. Food was Bland, boring and repetitive.even know there are themed nights, the food is pretty much the same. Fish and pork mainly, If you don’t like this, then your in for a tough week or 2.

It’s worth noting that we saw this as a family hotel, but it was full of 18-30 groups,Stags and hens. Many a night I heard rowdiness and even one night fighting. C bombs were Being thrown very loudly at 2 am waking us and our neighbours up. I think the hotel need to decide it’s target audience and cater accordingly.

Overall we had a pleasant week at gran oasis, However I would not stay here again, Not unless we had an absolute bargain. I think the hotel should nudge its price up a touch, focus on family’s (not 18-30’s, hens and stags) fix the food and improve entertainment, This hotel could be so good, but has some work to do.
