The Breakers Diving and Surfing Lodge

We arrived at The Breakers Diving and Surfing Lodge for a planned vacation, only to experience a severe operational and ethical failure at check-in. ​From the start, the arrival was deeply unprofessional, with hostile security staff and a complete lack of standard luggage assistance. However, the core failure lies entirely with the front desk agent, Bessada. ​I presented a confirmed, valid Booking.com reservation explicitly stating we had booked a double room. Bessada completely ignored the digital confirmation, insisted the system showed a single room, and forced a predatory ultimatum upon us: either pay three times (3x) the confirmed room rate on the spot to access the double room, or wait in the reception area for over 4 hours because no manager or supervisor was on duty or available to handle escalations. ​To be forced into financial penalization just to access a room that was already legally booked and confirmed is a complete breach of hospitality standards. Bessada’s attitude was dismissive, confrontational, and utterly unhelpful, actively ruining our arrival. ​If management does not actively police these front-desk rate manipulations and the unprofessional conduct of staff like Bessada, travelers should avoid this property entirely. A verified complaint regarding this booking rate violation is being escalated directly to Booking.com corporate customer protection.

While the location is incredible, the food and hospitality was seriously lacking. The drinks are overpriced and the food was sometimes bad, mostly good, rarely great. There was a couple of nice staff here and there, but mostly everyone was not that nice. The facilities are enjoyable, including a sauna and snorkeling on grounds.

It was a wonderful stay, the hotel and the personel is the best. Love the terrace where we had long breakfasts, the little yellow bus that took us to 7 Beaufort, everything
