Lying on the eastern coast of the Sinai Peninsula, Dahab is an old and famous destination on the Gulf of Aqaba for diving and windsurfing. The Blue Hole and Three Pools are among the most exciting and spectacular diving spots on the Red Sea. The centre of Dahab is approximately 5 km from the family-friendly beach hotel and other nearby places of interest include Sharm El Sheikh (85 km away), the Coloured Canyon (120 km away), Saint Catherine Monastery (135 km away), Ras Mohamed (130 km away) and Abu Galom (35 km away).
The Hotel stretches over an 18,000 m² coral beach with the colourful mountains of Sinai as the backdrop. Offering an array of unsurpassed facilities and a tranquil atmosphere, the resort captivates the senses with the stunning beauty and natural splendour of the area. Built in 2009, the air-conditioned spa complex offers 218 rooms in total and welcomes guests in a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services, currency exchange facilities and a newspaper stand. Further facilities include a children's playground and kids' club (both for a fee), a bar, disco and restaurant. Guests may also take advantage of the conference facilities, WLAN Internet access (fees apply), room and laundry services, and a car park.
The hotel provides spacious sea view rooms (34 m²), fully equipped with split-unit individually regulated air conditioning and heating, a double or king-size bed, an en suite bathroom with shower cabin and hairdryer, and a private balcony or terrace. Other in-room amenities include a TV, telephone, safe, minibar, ironing set, tea and coffee making facilities.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Ivan Cannings 4/5 just now on Google Spent a week here at the end of June on am all inclusive basis, room 2103. This is a review based on the cost of the hotel and relevant value. I would say the overall hotel is a strong 3* All rooms have a seaview and were kept clean, bottles of water everyday, complimentary amenities for showering/washing. Rooms were a good size with TV, safe and fridge. Food was of good standard, various options available during all 3 meal times with snack at the pool in the afternoon, I would prefer a bit more choice there but understandably when I was staying the hotel was quiet and it may not if been feasible. BBQ outside every night, selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at every sitting. The hotel is well maintained and kept clean, staff were all approachable and helpful. Main lounge and bar are was relaxed, bar serving drinks until 12pm midnight. WiFi very strong in the reception, lounge area.... A little hit and miss in the rooms. The hotel is situated on the very outskirts of Dahab but a complimentary bus runs 2x a day into the main town area for supplies, shopping and eating out (highly recommend a few trips into town for the atmosphere and beach front dining) also the hotel is situated on quite a recline into the hills but they run a bus all around the complex to get around from 7am until midnight. I didn't use the spa facilities so unable to review that area, there is only 1 shop in the hotel and this lacks alot of provisions, use the bus to town. The only bad point I have for the hotel is the onsite tour rep Mohammed, a very unscrupulous person, avoid at all costs..... His tours/trips are vastly overpriced, you can find these alot cheaper and better reviews online with various apps, avoid the shop if he is there as he will add his own tax onto any purchases, use the bus into town fir shopping, it's well stocked and a fair price. I would recommend and return to this hotel. The price was great for the service and experience. Thanks to the reception and guest relations for assisting when my return flight was cancelled
We had a peaceful stay at Ecotel Dahab. The views of the mountains and Red Sea are spectacular. The resort is clean, rooms are spacious, and the staff are friendly. The private beach has a great coral reef for snorkeling.
Keep in mind that the hotel is 8–10 km outside Dahab center, so you need taxis or the hotel shuttle to go to town. Also, the property has many stairs between rooms and the beach. Food was decent with a good variety.
We visited during the low season, and it turned out to be a huge plus. There are very few guests, so the service feels almost personal. No queues anywhere — not in the restaurant, not at the pool — and just a couple of people on the beach. The restaurant’s menu isn’t huge, but everything they do serve is delicious. The whole experience feels like staying at an expensive private island resort somewhere in the Maldives.
The hotel stands on its own — there are no other hotels right next to it, which gives it a real sense of seclusion. At the same time, there’s a free shuttle into the centre of Dahab, plus an internal shuttle that takes guests from the upper levels of the hotel down to the beach — handy if you’d rather not climb up and down the stairs.
The rooms are spotless and the towels are changed daily. The view from the balcony — and even straight from the bed — is stunning: you can see the sea, the pool, and Saudi Arabia across the water. On the 6th level we had an entire wing to ourselves, just our group, so we effectively had a private pool.
A special word about the reef. Few hotels in Dahab can boast a house reef — this one has it, and it’s quite good. That said, to really appreciate Dahab you should venture out to different reefs: for just 100–150 EGP you can reach Moray Garden, The Islands, Lighthouse, and many others.
And don’t miss central Dahab — the atmosphere in the evenings is wonderful, with excellent, affordable restaurants.
Bottom line: a great choice for a quiet, secluded getaway, especially in the low season.
