Parrotel Aqua Park Resort

My experience with parrotel aqua park was wonderful There are many pools and many many aqua park we loved it so much the stuff are friendly and restaurants is very nice and spical thanks for animation team

I had been really fussy booking this holiday and wanted something for everyone , so here’s my check list

✅ ✅✅Close to the airport 20 mins private transfer

✅✅Sun hot but comfortable , nice breeze and when there wasn’t there were plenty of pools to dip into

✅Good rooms spacious , clean and had all facilities - our cleaners made funny creations with our towels everyday

✅✅Animation the team called me mama , they befriended my boys who are 18 and 19 . They really were the friendliest animation team ever . When we were waiting for our transfer back to the airport one by one they came to see us to hug us and say bye, it actually felt like leaving friends

✅✅✅Pools I desperately wanted a lazy river also which they have a massive one going all around the edge of the aqua park - although it was a very very slow one it was lovely in the sun just make sure you wear plenty of suncream or a cover up as the sun really gets you , once round and I had very much tanned . There was a wave pool , slides , lazy river , lots of children’s pools and then two main pools one near the restaurant and one with a swim up bar which was our favourite as that’s where the animation team , music and drinks were .

✅Beach beach is a short walk from parrotel beach hotel but we stayed at the aqua resort opposite , this meant walking across a main road then waiting for a shuttle bus to the top of the beach and a short walk to the designated area for our hotel . There was a bar there which did food and lunch and a towel dude . There was a volleyball area and the animation team came down and did Zumba and volleyball in the morning . The sand is shingle / gritty , this means it’s not flying in your face but also not what I call real sand . The sea was gorgeous and warm BUT big rocks everywhere which made it hard to walk or swim and I tried but it didn’t ease off the further in I went so I gave up .

✅✅Accessibility We had a ground floor room, I have spine issues and walk on crutches but I managed to navigate around the whole hotel , my only issue was walking up the steps to the aqua park but I soon found a sloped areas for disabled access - it was just a longer walk .

✅Food could always eat something but it was repetitive, first few nights we were amazed at the food but after a while it got a little tiresome bit we still ate and enjoyed meal times , for lunches we preferred the snack bar by the aqua park .

✅✅Shopping a row of shops outside the hotel , with an atm but you can only drawer out 4000 Egyptian dollars which is the equivalent of about £66 depending when you go - just passed that is another machine where you can drawer out more . The shops were good , but the people really do insist you go into their shops “it’s free to look, please come in my shop , we sell t-shirts” and so on I saw a nice dress and the man wanted £32 for it ?! In the end he took £20 for 2 so make sure you haggle as best you can .

✅✅A short walk away is the Hard Rock Cafe , we got a taxi because I can’t walk far but I HAD to go , it was a great experience and the waiter Tony was the most insanely funny human being ever ! Food was ok but it was more about the experience for me , still very cheap , it can’t to less than £100 for 4 peoples starters , mains and drinks .

✅✅Town about half an hour in a taxi - taxis are outside the hotel but always check prices , our first driver only charged £20 to take us to old town , he waited 3 hours for us and then drove us back . Very good price . The town is amazing , go just after sunset but it’s still very hot so don’t dress up up ! We had food at the rooftop restaurant opposite the massive waterfall- you can’t miss it- called Andrea ans onions (I think ) We had 5 massive starters , 4 main meals , a lot of soft drinks and the food was gorgeous , large and the bill was less that £100 . A whole wood fired pizza was about £4. There are a LOT of shops and they are a bit repetitive but we tried to go in as many as possible and support them .

✅✅✅Excursions due to my mobility issues I was limited and we all decided against the quad bikes which the other holidayers said was amazing so I am gutted I couldn’t take part . But my son and husband did the diving , my son done a 3 day course with the team on the resort (PADI) and is now a certified diver , we then booked the White Island boat trip . We went on the boat could Habiba1 and Sam and jimmy and team were brilliant , this consisted of a trip with 2 stops where they dived and myself and my other son had a go at snorkeling. We then went to the Ras Mohammed White Island beach which was gorgeous but tiny , the boat stops , you swim / walk about 4 metres and your then on the most picturesque piece of pure white sand surrounded by warm clear sea. We stayed for about 20 mins - make sure you buy a waterproof phone bag (about £3 from hotel or shops) . We then got back on the boat , had lunch - which was nice , did the second stop for diving / snorkelling / swimming - they provide life jackets , the sea is warm and there are gorgeous fish and corals surrounding you . Then we continued back to the port when all of a sudden our boat played a cute horn tune and the staff whistled and then we were surrounded by dolphins playing a game with the boat , load of them , babies as well - what an experience!!! They don’t advertise this , I guess incase they don’t come to play but wow it was such a sight and I got plenty of videos and pictures .

All in all actually one of the absolute best holidays I’ve been on and I’ve travelled a lot . Our expectations were low due to the reviews we’d read but I was still hopeful but then pleasantly surprised .

We were treated like royalty from start to finish , the photographer came and took pictures but if you ask for bossman Amr (pronounced Omar) he takes the most amazing photos and they were cheap. He even managed to strategically place me without my crutches and I wasn’t even grimacing ! He photod a gorgeous family and the mum was a wheelchair user and even I cried at the beauty he created - he got her out of her chair for the first time in 2 years and you couldn’t tell from the pictures that she was actually unable to stand .

There are so many people to mention , the cute gentle mina in the animation team was just pure and lovely , whisky was a great dancer and very capable and got everyone involved with aqua aerobics , Zumba , water polo and darts , Moody was the best person to watch when he started moving , khalid at the swim up bar bought us drinks over constantly realising it was difficult for me to get to him he made sure I was looked after even if my family were in the pool enjoying their holiday . ABDHULLA - awww my son from another mom ! He was just the most adorable guy , baby faced entertainer who despite not speaking English was my absolute favourite , such a lovely boy who went out his way to go above and beyond . The guy who makes ice cream always made an effort and his English is great , he even let my son have a go . So many people to mention I know it’s a long read but the managers need to appreciate these people .

I’ve never returned to the same resort as I like to tick all countries off my bucket list but I will 100% go back . I will probably eat out in the evenings more often but other than that I wouldn’t change it .

MY PERSONAL TIPS

💰a 200 Egyptian dollar tip is £3 and goes a long way - these guys earn £100 a month and work at least 12 hour shifts

🫣some guest are rude - but don’t judge the hotel for this , I learned fast not to let people push on queues

‍️ 🏊‍♀️lifeguards - a little tip ensures you get the beds you want each day , they lay out the towels for you (pool towels are huge by the way) the lifeguards will lay the towels out and you give them your cards when you get there - saves a trip to the towel man , and at the end of the day they take them back for you . Make sure they have nothing in their pockets and push them into the pool - they need to cool down too and can’t just step in when they feel like it.

🥤take your own cups - bigger drinks , cleaner cups , filled more often as they do get close to running out

😃 smile a lot , your on holiday , enjoy it and spread that holiday feeling
