On arrival into Mombasa, greet your tour guides and transfer to Sarova White Sands Resort. Boasting an idyllic waterside location overlooking one of Kenya's longest stretches of beach and set amidst 23 acres of tranquil landscaped gardens, spend a day at leisure to unwind at this fantastic resort before enjoying an evening meal and overnight stay at Sarova White Sands Resort.

After an early breakfast, pick up from your beach hotel and depart. Drive north, along the main highway towards Nairobi, following the route of the railway line built by the British late in the nineteenth century. The road passes through the warehouses and workshops on the outskirts of Mombasa, climbing steadily and soon the vast plains of Tsavo become visible in the distance, with the rolling Taita Hills on the horizon. Enter Tsavo East National Park (12,000 sq kms) at Buchuma Gate, here the driver will open the roof of your bus, so you can stand up with the wind in your hair. Welcome to Africa, the safari has begun! Tsavo is the largest national park in Kenya and is split into East and West by the highway. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and later enjoy time for relaxation before setting off back into the park for your afternoon game drive. Return to the lodge as the sun sets. Overnight Taita Hills Lodge or similar.

After breakfast you will check out of the lodge and depart for mid-morning game drive in Taita Hills sanctuary and upon arrival, enjoy a tasty lunch at Salt Lick Lodge. Afternoon at leisure. Thriving with an enormous and varied selection of birds and mammals, the sanctuary's relatively small size allows numerous opportunities to spot Lions, Cheetahs and Elephants on an exciting afternoon game drive across savannah plains and open pastures, in the dramatic and captivating shadows of the nearby towering mountain range. Return to Salt Lick Lodge for tonight's meal and uncover the underground hide for a closer encounter of local wildlife who gather at its adjacent watering hole. Enjoy an hour-long game drive under the glistening stars in the night sky on an evening game drive for the chance to spot nocturnal animals amongst other wildlife settling down for the night.
