We went there fo a family holiday. We were on all inclusive package and because we got there at 4pm,we were directed to the snacks bar. The options there are very limited as its only hotdogs ,sandwiches and fries.I feel like they want to offer all inclusive package but at minimal cost on their end. We dont take alcohol,so i do not know if its covered. We then went to the rooms and i loved the rooms. Problem is ,both of our rooms were so dusty and i had to call the reception for them to be cleaned again. Both rooms had toilets in dire need of descaling, actually, even toilets in the public areas . Come on guys, buy a discaler and clean the toilets. The towels need to be bleached as they are white but look off white. The rooms supplies were generous. The food....My goodness...This is where you will know that the chef is on tight budget. The dessert is very minimal and very repetitive. By the second day ,i knew what to expect on the dessert. As in its a joke. The proteins all taste the same from the chicken, fish and beef. Its bad...I am lacking words to express how bad the food experience was.The pork/lamb is nice though. I would go round the buffet with my family and sometimes lack something interesting to eat.The service staff, good job.We were told there is an animation team, well, apart from Phillis, its nonexistant. The two other guys ,their main job is to lounge around the snack bar with alot of stories to their colleagues. After i requested, the head of animation came to us but told us he is not in charge of kids but we told him we wanted him to engage the kids as we were still around.I got tired and didnt approach him again.Thank God Phillis came the next day. What a nice lady and good with children. The third day, there was another animation guy who didnt approach us at all but was around the snack bar. Came the fourth day and the safe refused to open as were departing. Long story short,we missed our sgr as our all our valuables were inside there. Shock on me that there was maintenance technician on duty .We had to be in Nairobi the next day and we had to pay for our flights as the hotel refused to cover the cost and the sgr was fully booked for the day. Then they leave a manager in charge...an IT manager who has no power to make decisions and kept calling a Madam Ruth. Why would you leave a manager in charge who has no authority? We were eventually paid the tickets after we threatened to engage our lawyers and also involved the tourism bodies.Overall,a bad experience
We were a large family group, occupying several rooms at this all-inclusive beach resort, just before the Easter weekend, staying for 7 nights. The first couple of days were acceptable. Rooms are average, cleaned and maintained every day. Food was less than average, all the beef dishes were chewy and repulsive, other food was okay. The baffling part is we never had enough silverware/cutlery and napkins at our table(s), always having to ask and wait for these items. The worst part was half-way through the week when they ran out of food at almost every meal, probably because the hotel was packed to the gills and it was hard to find a table if you didn't get there early enough. Management was lethargic and mostly non-responsive. However, the servers were excellent, and tried very hard to do a good job. In particular, a head server/supervisor named Ester went above and beyond to make amends for any shortcomings, and we are eternally grateful to her for her tremendous efforts, cheerful demeanor, and willingness to do everything possible to ensure our comfort - huge shoutout to her!! The location is fabulous, offering white powdery, sandy beaches, gorgeous sunrises and peaceful walks on the beach. However, we will avoid staying at this resort in the future.
Located on the silver sands of bamburi beach north of mombasa in diani . Very beautiful with out door pools and many many beach activities to keep all covered
In May this year, my partner and I had an extremely disappointing and humiliating experience at Neptune Hotels & Spa in Mombasa. After a day trip to Wasini Island, we returned in proper dinner attire and tried to enter via the beachside. Security stopped us, could not communicate in English, and eventually called reception. Instead of welcoming us, we were interrogated about where we came from, what we wanted, and even how much money we had. When asked about our nationalities, I explained I am an African-American from the USA, while my partner is Dutch and white—though at that moment, I only mentioned my own.
We were then denied entry and forced to walk more than half an hour around the hotel in dinner clothing, on muddy, flooded roads, while very hungry. Once at the reception, we were told we could not enter without a booking, and when we suggested dining instead, we were dismissed—told lunch was over and dinner would not be available for two more hours.
In Africa, at a hotel owned by an Indian operator, such behavior is unacceptable. As a journalist, I also learned from locals that staff fear management, which only raises further concerns about the culture within this establishment.
The experience was degrading, discriminatory, and completely unprofessional. Neptune Hotels & Spa treated us in a way no guest should ever be treated. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone who values respect, hospitality, or basic human decency.
Exquisite beach views with breathtaking ambience, not to mention a perfect sunset experience.i would love to pay a visit again.
