Similar to other reviewers, this was our first experience staying at a riad and I would recommend no other choice but a riad for any visitor in Marrakech. I can also compare it to another subsequent stay at a 4 star riad (that should remain unnamed because it was good, but not worth the price). The location is easy to access by car and foot, close to the Médina, intimate, clean and quiet enough...

No luxury but very authentic feel, a true immersion in the daily living of locals. The reasons this 3 star accommodation deserves 5 stars (despite modest breakfast that could be upgraded, at least less sweets) are enumerated above plus most and foremost a wonderful owner and helpful, polite, discreet and much accommodating staff. An absolute delight to interact with them! I am recommending this place without hesitation even if you need to walk a bit (10 min) to get to the souks.

Excellent hospitality in a lovely Riad

Review by anelieser2015 London, United Kingdom

Dar Touyir organised a taxi to collect me from the airport which was a very smooth nice way to arrive. I then recevied a lovely warm reception and some tea and some great tips from Mariym who had also helped prior to the trip with booking a restaurant. The room was lovely and clean and it felt like a little quiet calm haven from the busy souks and very safe for a solo traveller...

Breakfast was excellent - such a nice way to start the day on the peaceful rooftop with all the birds - I especially enjoyed the crepes. Hospitality at its best - thankyou!

Truly amazing

Review by 335svenj Osthammar, Sweden

I was happy to find this place among all the places to choose from in the old town of Marrakesh. It’s situated in a small quiet alley but it is easy to reach all tye nice treasures within walking distance. The staff is fantastic, Mohammed and Miriam took well care of all my requests and helped to make calls to tour operators and make reservation in restaurants...

One day I invited some friends over for lunch prepared by the staff. It was fantastic. Well cooked and loads of food. Definitely the best meal I had during my stay. A great salute fir the kitchen lady, I didn’t catch her name.

Moroccan hospitality

Review by 190fredv

I stayed at Dar Touyir during the first week of February 2019. This was my first experience with a riad. The common spaces were filled with couch filled alcoves...

The rooftop was furnished with comfortable chairs and couches. The rooms all look onto the main courtyard. The rooms may be a bit small compared to larger hotels but I found them more than adequate. Breakfast was served every morning on the roof. The real standout to Dar Touyir for me was the staff. The entire staff made you feel

more than a welcomed guest, they made you feel at home. There were several instances where members of the staff went out of their way for me. They also arranged several day trips for me as well as arranging transportation to and from the airport. The staff at Dar Touyir illustrate true Moroccan hospitality on a daily basis. Dar Touyir will always be the riad I choose on any subsequent trips I make to Marrakech.

Loved Dar Touyir

Review by Explore277 Boston, Massachusetts

First...not sure what people are referring to with the farm and the pool? Owners should clear that up on TripAdvisor so guests can be sure what they are getting. Not sure if they own a second property or there are two Dar Touyirs? But...

The one we stayed at...with the address listed as 132 Derb Dekkak Bab Doukala, Medina, 40000 Marrakech - was wonderful.

The staff was very hospitable. Told us the must sees, the dos and don'ts of Morocco, helped with luggage, booked a spa day...

Very helpful and friendly.

It's right in the busy Medina, but the dar itself if very quiet. Lovely terrace up top where we were served a lovely breakfast each morning. No pool (although there is one pictured?). The room and bathroom somewhat small but we expected that.

At first a little uncomfortable with the idea of no locks on the doors when you leave, but there is a safe in each room. Wasn't a problem. You can hear other people in their rooms from time to time, but the guests were very respectful of the noise factor and that wasn't really a problem either. The wifi a little sketchy but the staff was quick to give other networks and passwords.

All in all, was a quaint little place and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dar Touyir and you can't beat the location if you want to be in the middle of it all.

Two thumbs up!
