Barcelo Palmerai Oasis Resort in Morocco stole our hearts. We've been on holidays there during the last 2 weeks of July as a family of 4 with kids aged 7 and 1. Staff members are the biggest asset of this hotel, from the cleaners to waiters, to the pool guards, kids club, and reception teams. Nothing seemed to be an issue, every request was met with a smile and "of course, not a problem" approach. It's probably the first time I wanted to leave a tip to every single member of staff! The territory of the hotel is massive, so green, well maintained and very clean! Probably the cleanest hotel I've ever been to. Even the toilets near the pool were cleaned every 30 minutes, or maybe even less, there was always a cleaner nearby checking on them. Baby pool itself, on the other hand, was very dirty with lots of sand and grass in it. It really seemed that it hadn't been cleaned properly for the whole 2 weeks we stayed there. There are 3 pools in total: family pool with a shallow end, kids pool and adults only pool. Family pool didn't seem too big at the beginning, however due to the adults only pool available, there was plenty of space for the families with kids. Pool bar, lobby bar and restaurant staff were amazing, a few names that I caught are: Breeze bar - Oussamma, Reda, Ismail, Doha. Bar Embiance (lobby bar) - Meriem, both Saras, Abdolhak, Hamza and another Hamza π Restaurant - unfortunately I haven't caught the names but everyone who served us was good. Kids club - Asma, Hajar, Ghita, Ayub, Reda and the rest of the team! Pool guard Omar was amazing! Kids club team is 100 out of 10. So many activities for kids and plenty of staff members to look after children. Big club's outdoor territory, including a little farm, a massive cage with parrots and peacocks, pedal carts, climbing wall and a playground. 2 zones indoors (1 of them for babies). It's free for 4-12 year olds, but for an extra charge for kids 1-4y.o. 200 dirhams for half day and 300 dirhams for a full day session (they can even take kids for lunch). While it is a great option and we used it once for our 1 year old (7 year old went there multiple times), I found it unfortunate that the indoor area couldn't be used with babies and parents, only with the staff members for an extra charge. Kids club staff were absolutely amazing and created great memories for the kids! Pool party, Moroccan night, Gala Night and a Mini Disco once per week. My kids had a blast! The hotel is more on a "chilled
Just back from our trip to Marrakech, quick visit for 4 days, we absolutely Loved this hotel, setting, rooms, location, food and staff, great for families, couples & friends, something for everyone. 5 stars π π€©
I only stayed at the BarcelΓ³ Palmeraie Marrakech for one night, so it would not be fair to give a full overall assessment of the resort. However, I can share my impressions from my short stay.
The resort itself has a real wow factor. It is a beautiful, well-maintained property with a lovely atmosphere. The hotel was clean, the surroundings were impressive, and the overall setting had the feel of a relaxing resort escape.
The staff in the service areas, particularly in the restaurants and bar areas, were friendly and welcoming. The buffet was enjoyable, with a good variety of food, and the evening atmosphere was pleasant, especially with the karaoke, music, and drinks creating a lively environment.
My experience with reception was less positive. The reception area did not always appear to be fully staffed, and there were occasions where I had to wait a long time to be attended to. The service sometimes felt a little distant and lacked the warmth I experienced from other members of staff. Before arriving, I had also tried to contact the hotel by email with an enquiry, but I did not receive a response. During my stay, I attempted to call reception regarding an issue with my room, but my calls were not answered.
Although the room itself was a good size and well presented, there was an unpleasant smell that affected my comfort. I would have appreciated a quicker response from reception to address this.
The cocktails were acceptable, although not quite to the standard I have experienced in other international resorts β they were a little watery.
Overall, the BarcelΓ³ Palmeraie Marrakech is a beautiful resort with excellent potential, great facilities, and a lovely atmosphere. For someone who has stayed in many international resorts, I would say it was a pleasant stay, although I have experienced other resorts that offered a higher level of service and attention to detail.
We booked two deluxe king rooms for 5 nights bed and breakfast at the Barcelo for a last minute break. The hotel is situated in the Palmeraie district around a 20 min drive from the Marrakech medina, but taxis into town are cheap and plentiful. The hotel is set in lush and very well-maintained gardens and grounds, and the interior areas are well-designed, very clean and an attractive blend of traditional Arabic with modern twists. Our rooms were small but more than adequately equipped for our needs and had excellent aircon, a spacious bathroom, good toiletries and a table and chairs inside the room as well as a small outdoor shaded terrace area with seating. For a short relaxing break we didnβt explore all of the hotelβs facilities but we had dinner at Azurita restaurant (Moroccan/Lebanese) twice and La Dolce Vita (Italian) once, and both were excellent. The poolside Breeze Bar was also great for casual lunch dining, cocktails, drinks and snacks. The buffet breakfast had a great range, all of high quality and freshness. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, particularly the poolside staff who ran the daily aqua gym lessons to music, along with darts and boules matches. There are two bars at the hotel, both with inside and outside seating - both excellent. We had a brilliant 5 days at the Barcelo - it was excellent value for money, thank you very much!
