We stayed here for 5 nights from Thursday to Tuesday. It was our first time to Marrakech and we just wanted to be able to relax whilst also doing a bit of sightseeing.
I have to say for relaxing this was amazing the place only has a few rooms (5 I believe) and we were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves.
The hotel has character and although had a bit of wear and tear the location and staff more than made up for it.
Hassan the hotel manager was very helpful without being in your face whenever we wanted something he was instantly there.
If I had to highlight any negatives they would be cost of getting to town (about 350 MAD), and limited (although adequate) food. Whenever we travel we do like to eat local food only and with Tagine every night we certain did. Breakfast was basic and could have benefitted from fresh fruit. Lunch was spot on which was a selection of salad/veg, bread and grilled meats.
The grounds were great and very relaxing.
I would say if booking with a 3rd party its probably best to book transfer directly with hotel as our one was not and he couldn’t find the place so I had to direct him. The couple that left the day we arrived had same problem but they drove around for 2hrs.
All in all a great relaxing break but be aware foods limited and travel to town is not great but this place is for relaxation. Can’t wait to return.
Just returned from a wonderful 5 day holiday at the Dar Kantzaro, and we were not disappointed in any way - the place really lives up to its (deserved) great reviews. We were fortunate to be the only guests during our stay, so we benefitted even more fro the amazing service provided by Hassan and his team. Location is very quiet and secluded (lots of cab drivers do not know where it is!) and well away from the rush of Marrakech, around a 25 minute taxi ride, which is not too expensive. In December the days are not so warm, yet we still managed a daily 25 degrees plus in the brilliant sunshine, with never a cloud in sight. Nights go down to around 15 degrees. Our room (suite) was amazingly spacious, with a comfortable lounge, large bathroom, bedroom and huge outside terrace, overlooking the pool and gardens. All major amenities are provided, but probably its best to lie in a bit in the mornings, as the hot water does not come on early! Aircon/heating units are efficient and the multi channel satellite tv works well (although only three English channels, all news, but you don't come the the Dar Kantzaro to watch tv!) Food is home cooked and beautifully fresh - you just tell Hassan when you would like to eat, and the food appears! Traditional Morroccan cooking with a set menu, tasty and filling. To conclude, one of the very best places to relax and holiday in the world. 5 Stars!
A great place for a restful break. Wonderful welcome from the staff, excellent, very clean rooms, very good simple food made in the kitchen and delightful gardens – as well as a hammam on site. 30 minute drive from the medina and the staff will organise a knowledgeable local taxi driver.
My wife and I stayed here for just over a week earlier this year and loved it. The staff were absolutely superb and nothing was too much trouble for them.
This place is a little bit outside of Marrakech, but they will organise pickup from the airport (€20, great value) which I would argue is necessary as it’s quite hidden away, you would really struggle to find it without going there previously.
The location is very very quiet, and super relaxing. For most of our stay we were there alone, which added to the experience as it felt really exclusive.
Food is EXCELLENT, I can’t stress this enough.. we ate out in Marrakech a couple of nights but it was not a patch on the wonderful tagines served up at Dar Kantzaro.
As an additional bonus, the grounds are lovely.. and we spotted a wild tortoise one day which was really fun :)
A lovely 6 bedroom villa hotel (with pool)located in the outskirts (about 10km) of Marrakech, secluded and tastefully decorated.
The jewels of this lovely property are the staff. Nagila the accomplished chef (apologies if the name is spelt wrong), Hasson the concierge, the young lady cleaner and the groundsman.
Wow, the meals Nagila cooked were delicious. Unfortunately we were booked for 7 days but had to cut short our stay (due to the CV-19 lockdown). But the meals were wonderful and a great introduction to Morrocan cuisine.
Hassan was a very helpful and friendly concierge.
If I return to Marrakech I would certainly return to Dar Kantzaro.
Thanks to all in Dar Kantzaro.
