Hivernage Secret Suites and Garden

First time in Marrakesh and had a wonderful experience. This place is amazing.. staff could not do enough for you… from front of house to hisham who was so nice, to the house maid who made the place look beautiful every day.. the team work very hard to keep the place looking beautiful..for couples this is a must as far better than a 5 star hotel..and located very central to all walking restaurants and shops… lovely pool area which we used every afternoon.. this place should be kept a secret…. Thank you team for a wonderful 10 x day stay at your beautiful boutique hotel..

Can't rate Secret Suites highly enough, it's like staying in a beautiful suite in a private Moroccan very grand home, with the most helpful and caring staff who just can't do enough for you. The small team work seamlessly to keep the place in tip top condition, everything is immaculate and the end result is an experience of calm, relaxation and luxury. The two Abduls run front of house and Hisham and Rabbie will make sure you have a wonderful breakfast, and excellent coffee! Whilst this is not your typical "hotel", they provide many of the 5 star services you would expect in a top end property - fluffy towels, slippers and dressing gowns are changed everyday, as is the bedlinen, first class housekeeping everyday by Katia. Breakfast is a small buffet with some hot choices (changed every day) and fresh fruit, cheese, meats, and an offer of eggs cooked to order any way you'd like them. There is a very respectable a la carte menu which is offered at lunch and dinner. The property is located in a very upmarket residential area (think Moroccan royalty for neighbours) and because of this, there is no alcohol licence. However, if you have your own alcohol, so long as you take it in your room, that is fine. We took a taxi to the local Carrefour, collected some wine and the taxi waited and drove us home for less than £10. There is a fridge in the room with soft drinks - all sensibly priced. We used the hotel transfer service from the airport - very reasonably prices (about £20) and used the same service to go out for dinner, very useful as you could charge that to your room so didn't worry about cash - however there is a ATM at the end of the street 5 mins away. Again, very reasonable prices and very reliable which appealed to us as we are not the most adventurous travelers. We went to Dar Dar for dinner on our first night and the driver was able to take us into the souk and drop us at the end of the street and when we asked the restaurant to call him when we finished eating, he was waiting for us when we got back to the drop off point.

We had an executive suite which had a large terrace and we spent most of our time enjoying the ambiance and the garden with so much birdsong there. We ordered lunch to eat on the terrace every day and Hisham and Rabbie could not have been more attentive. My husband was a little unwell during the stay and the team helped me with locating medication, keeping us supplied with water and ice and always asking how he was and if they could do anything to help - thank you all for your kindness.

We didn't use the pool but could see that the boys kept it really clean, in addition there is a roof terrace with more seating areas and sunbeds but we had it all on our terrace including a circular sunbed for two.

Would we go back - for sure. Highly recommend it for its neighbour location whilst still a short taxi ride from all the sights and eateries, for it's unique "palace" feel and for the superb staff who made our stay so special. Thank you Hivernage Secret Suites team, from Catherine and John Walker.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our 7 day trip, it was perfect so peaceful and great to relax. Very different to our stay next to the Medina. It’s a very modern and luxurious area, but only 25 minutes walk to the main square and souks. We also walked to the Menara Mall which has a few shops and restaurants and is only 10 minutes away. The staff are excellent, extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent served outside on the terrace. The Riad itself is beautiful with lovely gardens and a pool area, also a great sun terrace with comfy sunbeds and seating area.
