Kenzi Menara Palace All inclusive premuim

TripAdvisor Review
Morocco, Africa
Marrakech

This hotel faces the mythic ramparts and luxuriant royal gardens of Agdal, an enviable setting in the red capital of Morocco. Just 10 minutes from the principal tourist attractions of Marrakech and its surroundings, the hotel is near the atmospheric Jamaa El Fna Square, the colonial quarter of Gueliz and Menara - Marrakech Airport is only 4 km away. This city spa resort welcomes holidaymakers and business travellers alike, with a wide array of facilities available. Business guests can take advantage of the well-equipped conference facilities which are offered by this establishment. After a busy day, guests can retire to their fully furnished rooms which offer a spectacular view of the Atlas Mountains from the balcony.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Avoid this hotel — serious food safety, hygiene, and maintenance issues

We were extremely unwell during our stay — ill enough to call out a doctor, who confirmed gastroenteritis and gave an injection to control the vomiting and diarrhoea. He mentioned this was his fourth visit to the hotel that week. Separately, while waiting for our airport transfer, another guest was arranging a pharmacy visit for the same symptoms. If a guest needs a doctor called to a hotel, management should want to know exactly what went wrong — that didn’t happen here.

None of this was a surprise once you’d seen the kitchen practices: staff handling food bare-handed with no gloves, no visible temperature checks on hot-held food, and food safety generally poorly managed. The pool bar/snack bar was hit and miss — often empty, and poor quality when stocked.

We also saw staff being publicly reprimanded in front of guests, and noticeably preferential treatment shown to certain guests over others.

Management response: PR manager Mouad offered a 150 MAD meal at one of the other two restaurants, despite all three being served from the same kitchen — the same risk, in other words — then stopped replying altogether. I also emailed General Manager Ibtissam Jamili directly; no reply.

Her eventual public response, posted only after this review went up, states that a gastroenteritis diagnosis doesn’t in itself prove the illness came from the hotel’s food, and that our account of the room, pool, and maintenance issues are “allegations” referred internally “for verification.” I’d note that a doctor’s diagnosis, multiple other guests reporting the same symptoms in the same week, and hazards we photographed ourselves aren’t allegations — they’re what happened. “Awaiting internal verification” of things a guest personally witnessed and documented isn’t accountability, it’s a holding statement.

One real bright spot: Sherif, who’d booked our trip, was the only staff member who took this seriously — he refunded 400 MAD of our 1,000 MAD booking and arranged taxis to the pharmacy. The barman was also consistently friendly and good company.

Given the illness, the safety and hygiene issues throughout, and a management response that leans on technicalities rather than addressing any of it — I’d book elsewhere.

Decent hotel, not amazing but also not bad

Decent hotel, not great, not bad just ok. I visited August 2026

Cons: You have to go to a room on the 1st floor to iron your clothes, they do not allow irons in bedrooms

Meal variety at lunch and dinner is not great, very limited, not much options at all.

Not many other restaurants/snack bars for you to enjoy during the day except the one à la carte restaurant.

You have to pay for drinks at lunch and dinner, it is not included.

Cleanliness at breakfast could be better.

Hardly any entertainment

Pros:

Venue location is in the middle of everywhere so not too far of a journey when going places

Overall clean

People are helpful and nice

Good value for money

TripAdvisor Review
Room allocation vital for a good night's sleep!

A lovely hotel, but unfortunately a lack of sleep due to the loud music at the adjacent bar left us not at our best during the day. The gym was another thing that attracted us here, but it wasn't in the best condition at all.

The staff were great, and it is a well run hotel in many ways, but a good night's sleep and a well maintained gym were two things I hoped for when booking a 5* experience.

TripAdvisor Review
Great Value.

Great Location about 15 mins from.the Airport. 10 mins to the Main square and about 45 mins to the Atlas mountains. The staff at the hotel are friendly and speak many languages. The food is great and varied. Room needs updating, but the gardens and pools are nice. On the whole and really good experience and good value for money.

TripAdvisor Review
Terrible. Outdated and in need of repair.

We recently stayed at the Kenzi Menara Palace Hotel as a party of nine, occupying four rooms. Unfortunately, despite being advertised as a 5-star hotel, our experience was nowhere near a 5-star standard. It was closer to a 2-star experience. First impressions are actually very good. The entrance and lobby are grand and aesthetically pleasing, and the pool was probably the highlight of our stay. Unfortunately, once you get beyond the impressive lobby, the hotel feels very tired, dated and in desperate need of refurbishment and much greater attention to detail. Cleanliness was one of our biggest concerns. My daughter's room was handed over without having been properly cleaned after the previous guests. There were sticky coffee/tea stains on the tables, the bath and shower were visibly dirty, and rubbish from the previous occupants was still in the bathroom bin. We had to ask three times before someone eventually came to clean it. To make matters worse, at checkout, reception attempted to charge us for a tub of crisps from my daughter's room, claiming it had been opened and partially eaten. My daughter had not eaten them. Given the condition in which her room had originally been handed over, had it actually been properly cleaned and inspected between guests, staff should have noticed this themselves. The restaurant and food hygiene were particularly disappointing. Tables were sometimes sticky and left uncleared, and during busy periods there were shortages of plates, cutlery, serving spoons and tongs. We saw flies around uncovered food and, because serving tongs were not always available, I personally witnessed guests picking up wet watermelon and pastries with their bare hands. I also noticed waiters wearing food-stained shirts and aprons, which added to the overall lack of presentation. The snack bar was extremely poor. We were expecting sandwiches, pastries and pizza, but the food felt almost rationed. Pastries appeared to be leftovers from breakfast and were hard, sandwiches were tiny with minimal filling, and there was virtually no variety. Between approximately 5pm and 8pm, despite what appeared to be around 150 people in the pool/snack-bar area, roughly one small 9-inch plate of very thin cheese pizza slices would appear each hour. It was nowhere near enough for the number of guests. Entertainment was also very basic and certainly not what I would describe as high-quality. Much of it consisted of a DJ and host trying to encourage people to dance and seemed predominantly aimed at children. One performance involved someone lighting a cigarette and spraying what appeared to be a flammable substance to create a flame for a few seconds. It came across as amateurish rather than 5-star entertainment. Noise was another issue. Very loud music from a restaurant/club opposite the hotel continued late into the night, making it difficult to sleep. There were also some concerning safety and maintenance issues. We watched cleaning staff throw buckets of soapy water across tiled floors during busy periods and mop them without properly cordoning the areas off. Guests were simply allowed to walk across the wet, soapy floor. It looked like an accident waiting to happen. The gym was equally disappointing. A treadmill was broken and the lat-pulldown machine repeatedly became stuck after only a few repetitions. The two pools were the only positives. However, these positives simply weren't enough to compensate for the numerous problems we encountered. What disappointed me most was the difference between the 5-star experience we believed we had booked and what we actually received. Star ratings may differ between countries, but basic cleanliness, food hygiene, maintenance, service and attention to detail should not. The Kenzi Menara Palace has the potential to be a decent hotel, but in its current condition it needs significant refurbishment, is outdated, staff require further training in hospitality, better management, improved housekeeping and much greater attention to detail. If I could post photos to show how awful this hotel was, I would.
