A great experience

Hotel was pretty nice, location was very good, McDonalds and KFC a few mins away, the breakfast was impressive, fresh pastry and juices as well as some hot items and freshly made in front of you. The pool area was perfect, hotel kept clean.

Conveniently located hotel

Although this hotel is closed it is available to book as it is connected with it’s sister hotel - Opera Plaza. Shared facilities in adjoining buildings eg reception, swimming pool, restaurant. Our first stay there was in a room on second floor (2210) overlooking station. Outside temperature 44 degrees. Air con in room and hotel was not at all effective. We asked for extra pillows for bed 4 times before they eventually arrived. Room was a decent size, clean and a nice and powerful walk-in shower. Carpets in corridors looked a little tired and worn in many parts. Staff very friendly. Coffee shop next door was good. WiFi weak at times but ok overall. Breakfast - excellent choice. Dinner was a la carte as insufficient numbers for buffet. Most guests opt for bed and breakfast only. Returned for a two nights stay a few days later. Stayed in a different room (2206) with better air con also on second floor. Again dinner was good. Again asked for extra pillow twice and nothing arrived. So gave up asking! Our third and final stay at this hotel at the end of our holiday saw us in a slightly smaller room on the 4th floor. Again air con was effective and room clean and shower good. Dinner was a buffet unlike two previous occasions and very disappointing in comparison. Breakfast was good again with staff at breakfast particularly friendly. Conveniently located opposite the Marrakesh railway station. We would be happy to recommend this hotel. Check out is somewhat slow and front desk/guest services needs to improve.

Honest Review of Red Hotel/Opera Plaza

Just recently finished a one week vacation at Red Hotel/Opera plaza

Good and not so good honest review below. Check in was very efficient and handled professionally, I was in room within 25 minutes of arriving. Lovely reception area and room was spotless overlooking the main road outside, the double patio doors worked well and no issues for me with outside noise. Breakfast was decent and more than enough choice for you to get the day off to a good start, all waiting staff pleasant and helpful. Pool area was nice with plenty of decent furniture to use for relaxing as pool is surrounded by buildings on all sides if you are a sun worshipper you would need to keep changing locations as the sun moves around. Pool area kept immaculate with good staff to assist with anything when needed. I used the outside cafe at front of the building often for coffee and the occasional lunch. Bathroom was nice with good powerful walk in shower. At check in you are required to have a €200 deposit that is held in your bank to cover any damages etc, This could really affect someone’s holiday is they were on a budget and travel operator should make customers aware if this at time of booking, I would expect this at an 18/30 or stag weekend type hotel but was surprised for this charge in Marrakesh. At check out reception radios through for someone to check the room before any hold is removed from your €200. I only had one beer around the pool and thought that the price if 60MAD for a tiny bottle of beer was ridiculous. Similar to prices I have paid at Atlantis Dubai and this hotel is certainly not Atlantis. We expect the airlines to rip us off during the 4hr flight but not to get ripped off for the whole week. I don’t need a beer that much that I would be willing to pay such an overprice. I was on Floor 4 and work was being carried out on Floor 3 to refurb all the rooms, this I’m sure is needed but noisy and customers again should be made aware of this before arriving. I did not try the Hammam or restaurant at the hotel as Much better priced nearby. Would I stay again? If I was passing through for a stopover yes, for a weeks vacation no. I will upload some pics.

Bait and switch hotel

Buyers beware what you see on the website may not be what you get, we booked a room for 3 they put us in this small, dirty, dingy room in the back of the hotel. No ac, mold in the bathroom. When went back down to complain we were told they were fully booked and to come back down tomorrow and they would try to get us a better room. Well we did get moved the next day after not being able to sleep all night due to the noise in the back from the construction site. The nah we room per them was an upgrade cause we did not ask for a balcony room. This just left a bad taste in my mouth due to you should never do a bait and switch which is what this hotel does
