Honest review

So, I've decided to split this into pros and cons. There are very good pros and very bad cons depending on where you come from. I am British so will review from that standpoint....

Pros:

  1. The host staff (of which there are two) are lovely and can't do enough...

Khaleb (I think I spelled that right and apologies if I didnt) Is great. Speaks fluent English and was there when we needed him. 2) Food was varied and good for every taste and denomination. I thought that people who have previously reviewed probably didn't look around enough,as there certainly was a wide selection including vegetarian, and YES, there were chips available everyday if you wanted that. Good buffet, with the option of aide cooked items if the fancy took you. 3) Rooms were spacious and clean, presented well, with good electrical output points, comfy beds and black out shutters. Our room was quiet apart from the normal of people slamming doors at all hours. 4) Facilities... 3 pools, 1 main, 1 for the kids and 1 smaller and quieter. All lovely. 5) Grounds.... well kept, beautiful, and easy to negotiate.

Cons:

  1. apart from the hospitality staff and a very few resort staff, I was made to feel out of place and unwelcome. I tried to speak French, but it became apparent that once someone has seen your gold wrist band it wouldn't matter what you do, you were not worthy of their time. I am reluctant to say this, as the very, VERY few staff that did engage were awesome and I don't want to take away from them, but the majority were rude and I use the word as intended... obnoxious.
  2. The hotel is 90% (at least) occupied by French patrons, who have little time for other nationalities. This is a French club hotel, so I assume they were all wondering how British people got in. Therefore I blame the travel agent for advertising this location to British holiday makers. The French I notice, stare at us alot, will not make conversation and generally look miserable. (I point out again, British are given a gold wrist band and French a white wristband..... obvious whose who and easy to segregate). I even twice offered to help people find sun loungers and facilities (speaking French) and as soon as they clocked my gold wrist band it was like we were on different worlds.
  3. This needs to be made clear..... if you leave the hotel you WILL NOT be able to walk more than 20 meters without being harassed by Taxi drivers, streets sellers, beggars, shop owners etc etc. And I mean EVERY 20 meters. They get quite aggressive, and in some cases just resort to verbal abuse NO MATTER HOW POLITE YOU ARE. (Not anyone's fault but one to consider). 4)The weather at Agadir (we were in August) Is totally not predictable due to the proximity to the sea and the mountains. A sea mist is prevalent most days which sometimes isn't there at all, sometimes goes by early afternoon and some times doesnt go at all (not anyone's fault but one point to consider)

Lovely hotel in Agadir

Review by Jenni L Espoo, Finland

Valeria hotel in Agadir was beautiful and clean. The animation team was also amazing. The both pool areas were great and we enjoyed them when it was hot...

However, the wifi connection at hotel was not good.

Where do I start … So first of all 85% of the guests in this hotel are French. They are the most rude, miserable and anti social people. I have never in my life been among such horrible people...

2nd, discrimination at its finest you can’t leave your kids in kids club unless you are French or Moroccan! 3rd, the information on the key card you are given on arrival is all lies, there’s no pool snack bar, everything opens and closes when it wants too and no pizza snack at night time either.

The food some days very nice but bloody hell other days no - don’t know what the chef thinks when putting certain stuff together. And some days you can tell food is reheated from the day before.

The room balconies are never cleaned they are filthy. The toilets have a weird smell of urine even when they are not used

The loungers and umbrellas by the kids pool are majority broke and need changing urgently.

The staff though are lovely :) it’s sad that everything else lets it down. The animation team try their best and are great too but I think they should be in a better hotel!

Excellent Value for money

Review by Camper04257502469 Braga, Portugal

The staff is very friendly and always available to help.

The hotel itself is beautiful, and the pools and gardens are very well preserved.

Rooms are large, and beds are super comfortable!

There are lots of activities promoted by the animators every day - which is a good thing but forget about sleeping late.

The hotel is most frequented by retired couples in their 60s...

As a young couple, we felt a bit out of place.

The quality of the Wi-Fi is very poor. If you need to work, this is not the place for you.

You will need to bring all your hygiene products (including shampoo and toothpaste). In the bathroom, there's just a multi-purpose soap dispenser on the wall - but it's not good for your hair. Also, especially if you are a woman, bring a shower cap - as you cannot shower without getting your hair wet.

Overall, this hotel is excellent value for money, and we enjoyed the experience.

Nice one

Review by 921mellyp Dublin, Ireland

Hotel is very central situated in Agadir and it is a French Club. All the animation and program in the hotel is French. It you don't this avoid it...

They have 2 pools. One is an animation pool and one pool with water slides. The rooms are very clean and bathrooms are recently renovated. There is a big main restaurant where they serve lunch, breakfast and dinner. They have a snackbar close to the animated pool. The garden is very and nice to have a walk.
