Robinson Club Agadir

You couldn’t pay me to return. Visited for my birthday and hated it, spent the day crying searching for other hotels. Service is awful, you’re given a tiny map and left to find your own room on arrival unlike every other hotel I’ve ever been to who show you to your room. The staff are rude or just simply ignore you and don’t really speak English at all. 99% guests are German due to the hotel being German owned and they make the environment extremely rude and hostile as well. They’re favoured over English guests, my sister asked for a menu at the bar, the man then went and served some drinks to a German couple before finally returning with a menu. At dinner we were asked if we wanted still water as she was pouring it, to which of course we said yes but yet took a sip and it was sparkling. You smile and say hello to staff and they look at you like you’ve just insulted their whole family. Our room was infested with ants. If you’re hungry between set meal times then tough because there was nothing else to offer despite our efforts and walking 10/15 minutes just to get to the snack restaurant very hangry and it had closed because the walk took us so long with no alternatives. At dinner times if you arrive “later” then it’s hard to find anywhere clean to sit as the tables aren’t cleared and the staff just watch you struggling without a care or any offer for help. Food is okay and the Agadir star cocktail is lovely, didn’t try any others to be able to comment as a whole on drinks. The DJ Hamza was extremely inappropriate with my 18 year old sister, dragging her away to “dance” out of view of everyone and touching her inappropriately and forcing a kiss on her, with no subtlety at all but yet the staff didn’t bat an eyelid so guest safety clearly is not a concern for them. The other DJ witnessed and just laughed and left him to it so this must be normal behaviour he witnesses from staff? Disgusting. After this incident we felt even more uncomfortable so checked out the next morning, 1 or 2 days early and reception didn’t ask us about our stay at all. We went to a new hotel and was instantly met with amazing service and had the best time ever so don’t waste your time or money here, there’s much better options out there.

We are a couple from Italy who stayed at ROBINSON Agadir at the end of June to the beginning of July, and we had a wonderful experience. We came mainly to play padel, and the facilities were excellent.

Everything exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, with a great variety of dishes every day. The cleanliness throughout the resort was of a very high standard, and all the staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and welcoming. A special thank you to Omar for his professionalism and kindness.

Most of the guests were German, which is understandable given that the resort is German-owned, but there were also visitors from many other countries. What we loved most was the warm and friendly atmosphere. Everyone greeted each other with a smile, and it truly felt like being part of one big family.

Another lovely detail was the beautiful cats around the resort. They were clearly well cared for and very friendly, and we really enjoyed their company.

We truly had a fantastic holiday and are already thinking about coming back. We highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for excellent sports facilities, great food, outstanding service, and a relaxing atmosphere.

So here goes! ...

Myself and my partner stayed here all inclusive for the past week, overall the experience was brilliant, our taxi transfer on the way to the airport return flight commented on how this is one of the nicest hotels in Agadir to stay.

The hotel itself is massive- PREPARE to get your steps in! ... It is a fully gated resort, with round the clock surveillance, you feel safe here. I appreciated the gates as there were loads of stray dogs who walk around outside the hotel and in Agadir, they don't get into the hotel grounds.

Things we enjoyed at the hotel: the beach cabanas and hammocks, the indoor spa and giant sauna, visiting the garden with all of the fruit trees, the overall Moroccan theme of the hotel and how well landscaped it all was.

There are so many people working at this hotel who are constantly gardening, maintaining the buildings, restaurant staff asking if you need anything etc.

A real luxury at this hotel was how relaxed the staff were. No silly paper all inclusive cups here, just real glasses you are trusted to take anywhere on the resort- Yes, even poolside! I've been at other hotels where they are moaning at you for moving glasses out of a certain area or the silly flimsy paper ones. This doesn't happen here.

We were a bit worried about the food at the hotel as it was our first time in Morocco and know that you shouldn't be eating food prepared with or drink the tap water. However, rest assured, the hotel supplies unlimited bottled water and has it's own filtration system. (You can read about it on the website) So all ice etc in drinks is fine. We enjoyed the amazing tagines, freshly prepared dishes each day. Selecting food intentionally that was piping hot. The bottles of water are also good for taking away on day excursions/ beach.

"Le Taj", was a brilliant addition to the hotel- a coffee shop included in all inclusive. You can sit and overlook the sand dunes of the kings palace.

Sadly, I was really looking forward to exploring the immense sand dunes at the hotel in advertising pictures, however you are actually not allowed as these are part of a royal palace and although no real official fence border on the beach, there are security who will come and shout at you if you try walk left towards them. Which is tragic as they look amazing.

One thing you can do to plan in advance is download the Robinson club app, this is good because it tells you all about the themed dress nights and what the entertainment is. One of the stand out things about this hotel for us was how easy it was to book excursions. We booked and did Camel riding, which was around £30 pp and lasted 2h total, including transfers from a friendly guide to a ranch desert area. We got to see baby camels and go on a long ride through the dusty terrain. The second excursion we did was croc park, again around £30 for a 3h trip, we seen 300 nile crocodiles , snakes and turtles. Well worth booking!!!

I wish we had more time at the hotel, I'd say 10-14 days is the perfect amount of time to relax and enjoy memorable excursions - there were so many I'd loved to have done but we didn't have the time on our trip- The High Atlas, Paradise Valley, Marrakech, Essouria etc etc. Think of the hotel as a base for adventure and memories if you wish, book in enough time to do everything you want to do. (Booking excursions is so easy, you just go to the information centre the day before)

It is worth noting that the majority of guests at this hotel are German. Quite often staff approach and begin speaking to you in German. The only real time this was an issue was the entertainment section of the holiday as most nights the welcome was done fully in German. We had no idea what was going on. The entertainment in general was fine, a particular highlight was the 1001 show in the theatre, the staff put in a great deal of effort with that. However, we found that even as a young couple, the DJ entertainment was a bit poorer. The songs being played made keeping people up dancing a bit more tricky as it was more deep house beats than holiday entertainment light-hearted. We would have appreciated more well known songs- alot or random German music.

Some top tips:

-No need to pack beach towels, they're provided. -We didn't see any mosquitos at all the full time which was brilliant as I had been so bitten in Greece the previous year. So no need to go overkill with the bug spray buying. -Dress modestly for dinner. -Bring cover ups as it does get really cold in the evening. -Bring trainers etc for trips out/ lots of walking. -visit the Medina in the hotel!
