Having stayed in the Caribbean approx 20 times we could not really fault our stay here although we were lucky to have a renovated room. Despite closing down very shortly the staff were upbeat, very friendly and professional. It is a shame that this hotel will be redeveloped and probably cost at least times as much to stay in!
Shame this resort is closing next month for a new development. Apartments great, beach adequate, food average but manageable and we don’t eat in every day anyway.Staff on the whole very cheery and welcoming. Loads of trips to choose from to see the island and enjoy the water sports...
We visited the trip advisor no.1 restaurant on the island, Champers in Bridgetown and it didn’t disappoint, amazing meal in a great location. Defo be back to Barbados
My wife and I went to Discovery Bay Resort to celebrate 🎉 our 50th wedding anniversary, and as we had been to other Rex Resorts, we new what to expect, small ,simple and great staff. We were not disappointed and enjoyed our selfs, got a requested room upgrade and a special meal and champagne on our anniversary day. My wife enjoyed the wildlife, lots of mongoose and yellow tailed monkeys...
Again I have to say the staff was fantastic, taking the time to sit and talk to us, making sure we got anything we needed, a special shutout to Kathleen the General manager, she was outstanding and we hope she obtains great employment when the resort reopens This resort, like all but one of the Rex resorts in the Caribbean have been brought by Starfish resorts which is part of the Blue Diamond group. I have found that when this Resort reopens in approximately 18 months from April 2020 it will be a Royalton resort ( also part of the Blue Diamond group ) and therefore a expensive resort to go to!!! That is what also happened to the Rex Resort in Granada which is opening up in April 2020 as a Royalton Resort. One good thing I learned, is that all the current employees will have first opportunity of employment with the new Royalton Resort, but it is a shame to loose these reasonably priced Rex Resorts.
Low rise colonial buildings with a Bajan vibe. Wonderful staff. Use A La Carte when possible...
Great cocktails inclusive but lunch is buffet and fairly basic. Don't loose the Bajan Vibe or colonial appeal in the rebuild. Build a 5* with a difference.
We paid almost 300 dollars to stay one night and honestly service is horrendous. Everyone is miserable and like they are working at gun point don’t bother coming here I think honestly they should just shut this place down. Worst resort ever
