The Fairmont Royal Pavilion

TripAdvisor Review
Barbados, Caribbean
St James

Boasting the ultimate location on the Platinum coast of the island, Fairmont Royal Pavilion, is setting new standards of ultra-luxury in the Carribean and beyond, retaining a sense of serene seclusion with a unique beachfront position unlike any other resorts on the island. A multi-million dollar renovation at Fairmont Royal Pavilion has dramatically changed the hotel's guest rooms and raised the bar for luxury hospitality in Barbados.

Perfect Stay

Review by Geekz London

I decided to make a surprise wedding vow renewal for my wife and chose the Fairmont Royal Pavillion Barbados. What a beautiful hotel right on the beach. The rooms are fabulous and we were lucky enough to get a room upgrade...

The staff are what makes or breaks your holiday and the Fairmont staff were perfect from beginning to when we had to leave. I cannot remember all the names but Tonisha Niles who organised or vow renewal was spectacular - getting in place the Reverend, Photographer, Cake Maker, Bar Staff and beautiful venue!!! Everything went without a hitch. Tawanda, Lavern, and Shontelle made our stay extra special. Our butler service was fantastic. We had not been able to buy a suitable birthday cake for one of my sons who was also with us and turned 25 whilst we were in Barbados. Our Butler quickly resolved this by asking the hotel chef to make a beautiful cake. And finally Ryan at the Watersports who coached my wife on the catamaran and kept us entertained with stories of local life. Thank you. The friendliness and personal attention at the Royal Pavilion is second to none. We have stayed in various top hotels in Barbados but this is by far the best!!! We are now planning our next stay at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion and this time we have a few gifts to bring for the people who made our surprise 29th wedding anniversary vow renewal the perfect celebration. Thank you.

Return after 3years and still excellent!

Regular guest over many years and post covid it was good to return. Obviously like everywhere there has had to be changes but the welcome and respect shown to us returning was most appreciated.. Wi fi is available throughout the hotel and on the beach...

The beach front rooms and location still cannot be beaten on the West Coast. But the staff make the hotel, they’re all fabulous!

Complete five star experience

Review by Roger K Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Mu wife and I spent eight joyous days at the resort. The level of service is consistently the highest we have experienced in our 50 years of travel at every point of the resort from beach service to dining service to housekeeping. Cuisine at the Palm Terrace restaurent is superior to any of the best restaurants we dined at on the island...

Special shout-outs to the Fairmont's butler service and the water sports director Ryan who are all dedicated to ensuring that clients are delighted with their experience. Many guests we met have returned multiple times.

Great Beach, Good enough room, spotty service, worn out property, horrible Internet access

The beach where the property is located is beautiful. The rooms were fine and clean, although looking very aged and in need of refresh like the rest of the resort. I have been to many Fairmont hotels in the past and this was NOT a Fairmont experience. Our room came with a butler that did not show up until the last day at the property...

Internet (considered a basic requirement) is UNUSEABLE throughout the property. Service was mixed with some employees (20%) that were happy to serve and showed it. All other employees treated us with complete disdain and horrible service. (Hotel is employeeing people w/6 month contracts which shows).

Food was fine, but the location where we had to eat on a number of days allowed the buffet to be subject to the outside heat and bugs. The location changed halfway in to our stay where it improved by the food being located in an air conditioned area.

I am an avid traveler and understand that “things” can happen during a stay, but it is how the employees react that makes all the difference. The hotel is NOT a 4 or 5 star experience. 3.5 would be the score.

We will not be back to this property and are not sure if we will be staying at a Farimont again after being acquired by Accor.

If you are looking for a high level of service and a beautiful fresh resort in Barbados look elsewhere (Sandylane may be a better choice)

Perfect

Review by Ian C London, United Kingdom

We spent 7 wonderful nights at this beachfront hotel. Staff were outstanding and under the guidance of Jean Claude make you feel part of the family.

Nicole Jamal Richard are just 3 names that jump out giving excellent service

Peter Edwin and Dawn as our butlers were always available to help

Would we go back - oh yes.
