Bridgetown

This apartment hotel is located in a peaceful little fishing community, in a coastal hamlet known as Sherman Little Good Harbour, St. Lucy, and is on the site of the historical Rupert Ford, dating back to the 17th century. The shopping amenities of Speightstown are only a short drive away (3 km) and it is about 10 km from the nearest nightspots (Royal Westmoreland) and 12 km from Holetown. The airport is a 1-hour drive from the property.

This charming, family-friendly beach resort and spa comprises a total of 21 accommodation units and offers all the privacy and comfort of a luxury hotel. Facilities available to guests include a lobby, a hotel safe, a restaurant and complimentary wireless Internet access in all public areas. Guests can also take advantage of the room and laundry services and parking is available for those arriving by car.

All accommodation units come with a private bathroom with a shower, bathrobes, toiletries and a hairdryer and offer a double bed. They are equipped with a direct dial telephone with voicemail, a radio, satellite TV, a VCR, a CD player, a hifi and a safe. All have a kitchenette with a microwave, a cooker, a minibar/fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Furthermore, an ironing set, individually regulated air conditioning and either a balcony or terrace feature in all units as standard.

The resort features a full-service spa and a total of 2 pools, one of which is outdoors. Sun loungers and parasols are provided for guests' relaxation and they can also unwind in the steam room or with a massage or spa treatment. Water sports fans can also enjoy canoeing at this resort. Moreover, sun loungers and parasols are available for use on the nearby sandy beach.

Guests are served breakfast each morning and the midday and evening meals may be enjoyed à la carte or as a set menu.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

This hotel spoils you for anywhere else

Review by Andy M Richmond, United Kingdom

We stayed for thirteen nights in one bedroom cottage B7 at the beginning of April and loved every moment. From our warm welcome by Andrew and Trevor to our last sunny afternoon by the pool we felt that our comfort and happiness was their priority. Little Good Harbour is an oasis of calm, beautiful lush plant life everywhere and it’s wonderful to know that what many reckon to be the best restaurant in Barbados is just across the road...

We ate most evenings at the Fish Pot but at lunchtimes we enjoyed getting light meals together in our kitchen. You can get basic foodstuffs from the nearby Moontown store but we also found it worthwhile to make a trip to Massey’s supermarket in Holetown where you can find just about everything you want. Little Good Harbour’s northern location away from the busier main hotel area of the west coast is an asset rather than a problem. It’s a peaceful place and since Barbados is a small island you can easily get anywhere by bus (if you’re brave and don’t mind waiting) or by taxi. Our third stay at Little Good Harbour certainly won’t be our last, so finally - a warning: this hotel spoils you for anywhere else!

Relaxing holiday with family

I have a large family and we all wanted to get away for a wonderful holiday in Barbados , which thanks to LGH we did . They were so kind , we stayed in the two older 'fort' suites so were able to have direct access to the beach . I could not believe how close we were to the sea ! Javon and all his staff were really friendly and welcoming and if you need a chilled relaxed but efficient service I really do recommend the hotel.

Paradise

Review by K3671NEalexw Jersey, United Kingdom

Stayed in Fort Suite 2, right on the beach. Listened to the sound of the waves all night. It’s a little bit of paradise. There is a full kitchen but it’s next door to the Fish Pot where you can go for breakfast, lunch & dinner. I can’t speak highly enough of the manager, Javon; he goes above and beyond to look after guests and is very knowledgeable...

He organised us a hire car for us which we used every day to visit other restaurants and attractions. Our housekeeper Arlene was brilliant. Recommend a visit to the East coast for lunch at sister property Atlantis Historical Inn. We have booked to return here. Thank you to everyone at Little Good Harbour for a wonderful and memorable stay x

Beautiful setting, great food, fantastic service

Review by annemacLondon London

We visited as a family over February half term and stayed the 3 bed Ocean view suite. The Suite was amazing. - huge, beautiful rooms with a proper kitchen and views directly onto the beach...

We also had a private back courtyard with direct access to the beach. You cannot be any closer to the ocean without actually being in it.

The kids snorkelled on the beach all day watching the fish while we relaxed. We saw turtles off the beach and stingrays in the water while snorkelling off the jetty.

Lovely food served daily at the Fish Pot and delicious rum punches and margaritas. All the staff were really friendly and welcoming- Javon couldn’t have been more helpful in filling up our fridge and organising taxis. The staff in the Fish Pot were absolutely lovely and made us very welcome as was Arlene who did our housekeeping. Trevor was so kind and reassuring when our daughter was stung by a skulpen fish (watch out for these, terribly painful sting - get the foot into very hot water asap).

There are lots of excursions on offer if you are feeling adventurous, we went on the submarine and on a katamaran tour to swim with turtles - both highly recommend, although be prepared for a long transfer by bus and a fair bit of hanging about.

Overall - a really incredible experience and can’t wait to go back

Great place to stay in good location

Review by SallyGibraltar2013 Aylesbury, United Kingdom

After the flight from hell delayed for 3 hours on London Heathrow’s runway, we arrived much later than scheduled in Barbados, & to be told our rental car was automatic and they drive on the same side as the UK was joyful news. The checkin at Little Good Harbour was instant and so relaxed and very soothing. To be told the restaurant was waiting for us was wonderful news but we weren’t to rush...

The accommodation is beautiful, far better than portrayed on the website. Spotlessly clean too. The Little Fish Pot serves excellent food in a stunning location and to wake up to an unexpected sea view on our first morning, was a lovely surprise. We live in a tiny, rural village in England and we found LGH a very peaceful and relaxing location. The beach is perfect and safe and we snorkelled and I saw the best array of flying fish ever. Special mention must go to Javon Griffith of LGH staff. We have never been to Barbados before and a friend recommended a list of restaurants: Tides, Lonestar, Paul Owens at the Beach, Sea Shed, Quattro Passi and Little Fish Pot of course and prior to our visit, Javon booked the best table at all of them to enjoy sunset followed by dinner. We also visited gardens and jungle at Hunte’s Gardens, Andromeda, Welchman’s Hall Gully and Flower Forest Gardens - all different and all stunning. This is a lovely peaceful place to stay. We highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again. If you loathe all inclusive, regimented hotels and like to stay somewhere a bit different and explore where you are staying and get under the skin of a new country by meeting people who actually live there, then this is the place for you. Thank you Little Good Harbour for an exceptional stay.
