A very special place to stay

Review by shuttly London, United Kingdom

A very special place to stay. A boutique hotel in a great location that knows how to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. Great roomy suites, very well equipped with everything you could want...

The rooms are all great regardless of what your view is. There’s no TV but isn’t that what getting away from it all is about. Swimming in the pool and the sea are both equally delightful. The Cobblers Cooler cocktail is fantastic but one is probably enough! Because there’s only about 80 maximum guest it feels personalised but not formal. Barbados really do seem to have got their act together to restart tourism. Everything was very well organised and the anti COVID measures reassured us. You can get a fit to return test at the Crane Resort if you have a hire car. Driving is straightforward.

Sumptuous sophistication

Review by Debbie097 England

Sophistication is the word. We adored cobblers cove. The rooms were spacious and sumptuous, the pool lovely, and the grounds beautiful...

Bradley and the water sports team were fantastic , the restaurant was a treat whether it be for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Would thoroughly recommend - especially for couples, although our little monkeys were also very welcomed and well provided for ! Just wish we could have stayed longer .

Lovely boutique hotel, but may not be a good fit for all

Review by NJ_Thomas New Jersey

My wife and I recently had a very nice stay at Cobblers Cove and we would agree with the overall characterization of the hotel by many of the reviews here. The hotel aims for a low key and personalized experience and in many ways it delivers. That said, there were a few elements of the hotel that didn't work for us and we thought this would be worth pointing out for travelers considering this property...

Our room was a ground floor garden suite, very spacious and nicely furnished in a comfortable traditional English style. We would have enjoyed it more though if the windows had glass and screens. The windows have shutters with louvers that can be opened. Unfortunately because there is no glass, we couldn't have the shutters or louvers open to get some natural daylight if we also wanted to run the air conditioning. It was one or the other. Having an actual glass window would have also mitigated the noise from the leaf blower outside our window early Sunday morning., Consequently our bedroom felt a bit cave-like and we had to turn on the lights whenever we were in the room. Also since there are no screens, we weren't comfortable opening the louvers at night since dengue is present in Barbados. I get it that this is a traditional style in Barbados but we found it annoying.

We were also surprised that the rooms do not have TV's and that we could have one put in the room for an extra daily fee. We don't expect people to come to Barbados to watch TV but at this price point it shouldn't be an extra.

The hotel should consider providing multi-outlet USB chargers in the rooms so that guests don't have to search for electrical outlets to charge phones, tablets, etc. It would also be nice to have a Bluetooth speaker so that guests could stream music from their phones. The wi-fi service was generally OK but weak at the gym.

We found the restaurant service to be the hotel's real weak point. The food was very good and the staff were friendly and generally well-intentioned, but often inept and clueless. We had a few dinners and all of our breakfasts at the hotel and at no time did any server ask if everything was OK with our order after it was served. It only takes a moment, why is that so hard to do?

We realize that Cobblers Cove has many devoted and repeat visitors and we don't expect the hotel to change what clearly is a winning formula for them, but we thought our experience was worth sharing.
