Rendezvous

TripAdvisor Review
Saint Lucia, Caribbean
Castries

The hotel is located in Malabar Beach, near to a small airport for domestic traffic, which means aircraft noise can be heard at times. The transfer time from the international airport is around 1 hour and 30 minutes.

This resort for couples is set on three acres of tropical gardens. The piano bar stays open until the last couple wishes to leave. Facilities include a 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, currency exchange facilities, a hairdressing salon, restaurant, WLAN Internet access (fees apply) and a car park.

All rooms and suites in this hotel are air-conditioned and furnished in a Caribbean style, with bright colours and natural rattan furniture or wood. All rooms have private patios or balconies facing the tropical gardens or the Caribbean. Rooms have four poster beds, sometimes accompanied by a thin mosquito net. There is also a marble-accented en suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer, mood lighting, a CD player, ceiling fan, direct dial telephone, radio, Internet access, an in-room safe and an ironing set.

The hotel offers weekly golf practice sessions and lessons as well as tennis, volleyball and archery tournaments. The property has two swimming pools and guests may also take part in an aerobics session, relax in the sauna or work out in the gym. Watersports options include waterskiing, diving (for certified divers only), windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing and sailing.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Amazing vacation!

Review by 88nancye Austin

We visited Rendezvous resort for first time in April and stayed 7 nights. This was the best all inclusive we have ever stayed. We stayed in beachside cottages and loved it...

We were right on the beach. We had our own loungers on the beach and on our patio. The staff is the best - everyone is so friendly The resort makes it easy to either spend time alone with your partner or meet new friends. The champagne hour and resort tour is where we met some great friends So many activities included ! We learned archery , learned to sail the hobie cat ; we did water aerobics and other exercise classes daily. The entertainment team was awesome! Alisha , Joe and Nile and one more that we forgot name ! They got us involved without being pushy So many great things to say …. We cannot wait to come back!

Great stay at a great destination

This was our second visit since 2019. It was pleasing to see the hotel remains a very friendly and relaxing destination. Our room was good with high standards of housekeeping...

The restaurants still provided excellent service and food. Beaches are public in St Lucia yet the hotel kept the near areas well raked and clean. The hotel's swimming pools are also very good with excellent poolside service.

A paradise for every couple, old and new!

Review by Solarisl Montreal, Canada

This resort deserves all the hype it gets. Not only was the service the friendliest and most proactive I ever received from a resort in the Caribbean (and I've visited quite a few), but the overall experience was simply outstanding. Special mention to the staff from the beach who brought us fruits, coconuts and water even when we didn't ask for anything while we were chilling on the beach...

Great to stay hydrated! Staff from the entertainment team was very helpful and friendly as well, we did enjoy trying archery! The beach was beautiful and has enough loungers to please everyone. Our Verandah suite was lovely (and they often left surprises in the evening), the drinks were varied and refreshing, the watersport centre very convenient for snorkelling excursions as well. The resort is at a walking distance from Castries which is safe and interesting to visit (and great to buy souvenirs). The food was quite good as well. I greatly enjoyed the waffles and omelets in the morning and the malabar restaurant at lunch. I didn't have any difficulty booking a few à la carte restaurants for diner, but I thought the food at the buffet was just as good. Don't miss the West Indies themed buffet night! I also greatly enjoyed that the clients at the resort were all well behaved and classy: mostly middle aged couples, seniors and a handful of young honeymooners as well. Quite truthfully if you're searching for a quiet retreat to recharge with your other half, this is the place!

Our sixth, wonderful visit...

Review by Neil L Loughborough, United Kingdom

We were delighted to return to Rendezvous for our sixth visit since 2011. I am pleased to report that it is as good as ever. There is so much to praise about this resort: its intimacy; the friendliness, helpfulness and hard work of the staff; the relaxed, restorative ambience; the beautiful natural surroundings…the list goes on...

There is certainly plenty to do if you like your activities whilst on holiday. Each day boasts a host of events from water sports to land-based sports (archery, beach volleyball, tennis etc.), to the more relaxed elements such as wine tasting. Personally, we favour long walks up and down Malabar Beach, using the gym, then lounging about and reading in the sun, supported by the wonderful Tasha (with her catchphrase of “NICE!”) bringing frozen Margaritas – delicious! Dining is very pleasurable at Rendezvous. For those looking for a la carte / table d’hote options, there are the Malabar Beach (informal) or Trysting (formal) restaurants. We prefer the Terrace restaurant with its informal, laid-back buffet style dining, offering great variety and quality of food. On some nights, the Terrace has a table d’hote menu which, while quite a bit less varied, still offers food of good quality which is well presented. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea are plentiful and very well-prepared. It is extremely easy to eat and drink A LOT at Rendezvous! For those who like their wine, the house wines are pretty limited, but Yannick can help you with the additional wine list which features some decent stuff, albeit at extra cost. The greatest accolade I can pay to Rendezvous is that, even though we have a general policy of “not returning” to holiday spots so as to see more of the world, this is our one exception. In a very busy world, and with two very busy jobs, this place guarantees rest, relaxation and restoration every time. We’re already looking forward to visit number seven….

Not a 5 star for the price but a solid 4

Review by Roving64595213271 Medicine Hat, Canada

Pros

  • peaceful beautiful resort
  • cottage rooms incredible
  • staff very friendly and work hard
  • food was great
  • evening live music awesome -several great activities available

Cons

  • allow drug dealers on their beach in front of resort. On holiday Sunday 4 laid within 15 feet of our Loungers. We were hoping for a tranquil evening to watch sunset but us, along with several other guests had to leave the area as they were high and disrupting us...

Not sure why security didn’t deal with this, but it appeared that all staff including the restaurant manager were intimidated and only looked on from afar. Our server asked them to move but they didn’t listen. We reported it to concierge but they didn’t address . They removed 2 beautiful dogs that were so sweet but wouldn’t deal with these people

  • only allowed to book Trysten and Malabar restaurants once a week even when resort is only half full
