TripAdvisor Review

I would recommend this place to anyone.

Review by sarahb1102 Belgrade, Montana

I could go on and on, but this place is wonderful and we would definitely go back. We ventured out the Sandals Grande on St. Lucia, and didn't like it nearly as much...

Halcyon is more intimate and quiet and overall perfect for couples wanting to get away from it all!

Simply Beautiful. Worth the wait!!!

Review by Jonno2305 Camberley, United Kingdom

We have just returned from staying 11 nights at the wonderful Sandals Halcyon!!! . I cannot believe some of the petty negative comments some reviewers have previously posted. What ALL the team at Sandals do is provide is a 1st class holiday experience. I would love to single out certain staff members that stood out above others but absolutely everyone from the grounds staff to the room cleaners to front of house staff are amazing...

The friendliness and cheerful attitude by everyone is so lovely and sets you up for a good day. Lets be clear that this is not a party resort. This is an intimate, romantic Sandals resort and pretty much by 11pm you are done for the evening in terms of entertainment. If you want a big lively resort then go to Sandals St Lucia Grande. We went there for the day and it is lovely too but not personal. The food was outstanding in every restaurant (big hello to all the breakfast staff in the Bayside restaurant!!!) Our favourite was Kelly's but that was just our personal choice. You simply cant go wrong with any of the restaurants. If you do go to Halcyon then make sure you try out the burgers at the Beach Bistro!! We had a wonderful stay and there is nothing negative about this resort. It is a pretty, beautifully maintained resort where the staff work tirelessly to make your holiday perfect. If you are looking for a personal, romantic and intimate Sandals resort then book Halcyon Beach. Thank you to everyone at Sandals for making this so perfect.

Best birthday week! Staff very attentive and friendly. Food was excellent. We had candlelight dinner on the beach which was perfect...

We enjoyed the entertainment as well. Our boat excursion was so much fun (volcano, falls, snorkeling, and eating at Mamas). Island is absolutely beautiful!!

Relaxing honeymoon

Review by Jxmieengel Superior, Wisconsin

My husband and I stayed at Halcyon beach resort for 6 nights at the end of August 2021. First of all, it was beautiful! The gardens, the pools, the rooms, the paths, restaurants, etc. I heard some mention that the beach isn’t as great because it’s not white fluffy sand...

But it was still lighter sand and was amazing. There was entertainment every night but overall this resort was very quiet which was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted to relax by the pool every day and that’s exactly what we did and we loved it. We had a crystal lagoon poolside balcony room (#617) and we loved the room. Some privacy of having the balcony rather than swim up, yet still right in front of the lagoon and the pool. Food was great, loved the beef tenderloin at Mario’s (amazing). All of the staff was so friendly and fun. Shout out to Kareem and Crazy (never knew his real name but he said he goes by Crazy) as they were so fun to talk to! If you’re looking for a beautiful, relaxing, low key resort… this is it. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that I would like more food options. This resort doesn’t have many options for food, and no food options that are open late. I’m a huge snack person so I had to go to the gift shop and buy bags of chips and snacks every night for after dinner and throughout the day.

Not as advertised, disappointing

Review by D4480RGsusanh

Where to begin. Of our 10 Caribbean trips, this was by far the worst resort we've seen. Our very first Sandals and we expected a 5 star experience...

Unimpressive upon first glance. Very small lobby, not the grand entrance we usually see. Then a rushed unprofessional escort to our room, which was right beside a busy noisy road. European outlets in the room except one under the desk, beside the hairballs. Hairdryer provided does not plug into the bathroom outlet. Oh, those beautiful beach photos you see online? It looks nothing like that, brown sand, dark water and not well kept. We didn't see anyone get in the water. The jets in hot tub didn't work, as the button was dangling by its wires. Swim up bar closed at 5pm. The staff pretended not to see customers lined up trying to get a drink. Toilets by the pool were overflowing. Empty cups seen throughout the grounds. Difficult to get dinner reservations. Not enough restaurant choices. No shows or entertainment after dinner, DJ by the pool one night. One bar on dry land that didn't open until 5pm, so no place other than the pool to gather to hang out, get an afternoon coffee, or even a bottle of water. Front desk staff acted annoyed when we asked for anything. The restroom beside the bar had a leaky ceiling, dripping during an afternoon rainfall. Other guests we spoke with had a non working a/c problem in their room. Another couple arrived late due to travel authorization delay, no fault of their own, and they were denied any refund for the first night. Our Sandals excursion was not as promised but the manager was very unsympathetic. We paid $155 each for a long curvy 4 hour carsick van ride to the mud puddle bath and lunch, and back. No waterfall as promised and no photo opps along the way either, unless the 2 vomit stops count. One highlight, we took the shuttle to both sister resorts. The Grande was amazing and we realized we made the wrong choice. Beach was gorgeous there and we had a blast. Thankfully we made the best of it but definitely won't be going back. We've enjoyed some excellent resorts. This was not one. We expected more from Sandals. I assume from the other reviews here that the mgmt change could be to blame.
